About

High Performance Restoration, LLC trades publicly as High Performance Roofing and operates from 9061 3rd St in Frisco, in Collin County. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started in February 2016 and incorporated later that month, and the company describes itself as a women owned business with over 17 years of industry experience. Heidi Black is listed as president and Brad Black as vice president. The company works across roofing, solar and windows. Published services include roof replacement, repair and installation, commercial roofing, metal roofing, impact resistant shingles marketed under its own Texas Proof Roof name, Solatube skylight installation, solar panel installation and window replacement. It holds Texas electrical licence EC-32393 according to its own site, which is consistent with the solar and skylight side of the business. Financing and free inspections are offered. The stated coverage area is Collin and Denton counties and the wider Dallas Fort Worth area, naming Frisco, Allen, Carrollton, Dallas, Fort Worth, Little Elm, McKinney, Plano, Prosper and The Colony. Collin County sits squarely in North Texas hail country, which is why the impact resistant shingle offer matters here. The company has been a BBB Accredited Business since April 2016 with an A+ rating. Texas has no state roofing licence, so insurance, a written scope and city permitting are still the checks to run. The company is a dues paying Member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Brad from High Performance Roofing was outstanding from start to finish. He came out within 24 hours to inspect our roof and took the time to give us a very thorough walkthrough of everything he found. He explained the condition of the roof clearly, answered all our questions, and gave honest suggestions and recommendations without any pressure. What really impressed us was how quickly and professionally he followed up with a detailed report just a few hours later. The communication, professionalism, and attention to detail were top-notch. Highly recommend Brad and High Performance Roofing to anyone looking for a trustworthy and responsive roofing company.

Little over a year ago High Performance Roofing replaced my roof. Recent rain I saw some water leakage, call to them & they were out the next morning inspecting the roof. The tech adjusted some flashing around a sky light, nothing else was noted with the shingles as he walked the whole roof. Appreciate the quick response by High Performance Roofing!

I had a great experience with Brad at High Performance Roofing. Brad came out right on time to address a issue I consulted with him about, fixed it, thoroughly assessed my roof, and took the time to walk me through his findings. What stood out most was his knowledge and experience, he didn’t just point out issues, but clearly explained the next steps and my options without any pressure. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is both professional and honest. I feel much more confident moving forward thanks to Brad's guidance. I would definitely recommend HPR to anyone needing a reliable and trustworthy roofer.

Frequently asked

Is High Performance Restoration the same company as High Performance Roofing?
Yes. High Performance Restoration, LLC is the legal entity name that appears on the BBB and RCAT records. The public brand on the website, Facebook and Yelp is High Performance Roofing. Same Frisco address at 9061 3rd St and the same phone number, so do not treat them as two businesses.
Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence. When a roofer says fully licensed and insured, the licence part usually refers to something else, such as a city registration or, in this case, a Texas electrical licence for the solar and skylight work. The roofing itself is not state licensed anywhere in Texas.
What does RCAT Member mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas lists the company as a Member, meaning it pays association dues. RCAT also awards a separate Licensed Roofing Contractor credential that must be earned through experience and testing. Member status is not that credential, and the two should never be presented as equivalent.
Does the company hold manufacturer certifications such as GAF or Owens Corning?
We could not find this company in the GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed contractor directories. The site says certified roofing contractors without naming a manufacturer. If a manufacturer backed system warranty matters to you, ask which manufacturers they are certified by and ask them to show you the listing.
What is a Texas Proof Roof?
It is the company's own branded name for its storm resistant roof offer, built around impact resistant shingles. It is a marketing name rather than an industry standard. Ask which specific shingle product and impact class it uses, and get that written into the contract so you can compare it against other bids.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Collin County?
Collin County is in the heart of North Texas hail country. Class 4 shingles are tested to survive steel ball impacts that crack standard shingles, and most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Confirm the discount with your own carrier before paying for the upgrade so you know the real payback.
How do hail insurance claims work here?
You report the storm damage to your own insurer, an adjuster inspects, and the settlement is based on your policy. A contractor can meet the adjuster on site, but the claim belongs to you. Do not sign anything that assigns your claim or your settlement payment to the contractor, and be cautious of anyone offering to cover your deductible.
Can they handle solar and skylights as well as the roof?
Yes. Solar panel installation, Solatube skylight installation and window replacement are all published services, and the company states Texas electrical licence EC-32393. Doing the roof and the solar mounting with one contractor avoids the usual argument over who is responsible if a penetration leaks.
Do I need a permit for roofing or solar in Frisco?
Texas has no statewide building code adoption, so requirements are set city by city. Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Prosper each run their own permitting, and solar installations usually carry an electrical permit on top of the roofing permit. Ask which permits apply and who is pulling them before work starts.
What should I check before signing a contract?
Get the certificate of insurance direct from the insurer, a written scope naming the shingle product, impact class and underlayment, the total price and payment schedule, the workmanship warranty term separate from any manufacturer warranty, permit responsibility, and the cleanup commitment. Read any solar financing agreement separately and in full.
