About

M.D. Roofing & Construction is a family owned roofing and exterior contractor based at 2629 Eucalyptus Road in Frisco, in the Hollyhock neighbourhood. Frisco straddles the Collin and Denton county line, and this address sits on the Denton County side, which matches the county recorded for the listing. The company serves Frisco and the wider North Texas area, and the Better Business Bureau records the LLC as starting on 27 July 2021. The business covers roof repair and full roof installation, roof inspections, storm and hail damage repair, insurance claim assistance, siding repair and installation, gutter repair and installation, skylight installation and general exterior construction. Roofing materials named on its site include asphalt shingles, tile and metal, and siding options include vinyl, aluminium, fibre cement and wood. Owner Michael Lance is described on the company's About page as having more than fifteen years in the roofing industry along with a background as a construction project manager and a licensed Texas catastrophe insurance adjuster, which is the basis for the company's emphasis on guiding homeowners through insurance claims. Michelle Lance is listed as co-owner. Two credentials were independently confirmed. M.D. Roofing & Construction appears in GAF's own contractor directory as a GAF Master Elite contractor, which is GAF's highest volume certification tier and carries eligibility for GAF's stronger warranty products including the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty. It is also a BBB Accredited Business with an A plus rating, accredited since 8 November 2021. Frisco sits in the North Texas hail belt, so most roof replacements in Denton and Collin counties start with a hail insurance claim, and impact resistant Class 4 shingles are the most common upgrade.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Can’t say enough about how impressed we were with this company. I called on Friday for help with a vent on our roof just above our child’s room. It was rattling and squeaking which freaked out our kid. Michael scheduled an appointment for the following Monday and arrived exactly on time. He texted beforehand to confirm we’d be at home. Very nice guy and we never felt rushed. He took our questions and explained the issue, took some pics and before starting, went over the options. The repair was done completely and post-photos provided. If I had done the work myself on that steep pitched roof I would not be here to submit a review! Thanks Michael!

If I could give 10 stars I would. From the initial roof inspection and patiently working with our insurance company to the beautiful new roof, rebuilt chimney and new skylights, this process has been seamless. Michael and all of his team are honest, reliable and professional. The work was amazing, and I was especially impressed with the attention to details and outstanding communication. Michael was always very responsive and eager to help in every stage of the work. We highly recommend M.D. Roofing & Construction for all your roofing needs! Great people. Great results. Thank you!

As a realtor myself who is selling my own home - I needed some shingles replaced that blew off. This company came out the same day and fixed them same day too. Very knowledgeable and nice and charged a very reasonable price. 10/10 would recommend.

Frequently asked

Which county is M.D. Roofing & Construction in, Collin or Denton?
Denton County. Frisco straddles the Collin and Denton county line, so the answer depends on the exact address. The company's address at 2629 Eucalyptus Road, Frisco, TX 75033 is in the Hollyhock subdivision on the Denton County side of the city.
Is the company's GAF certification real?
Yes. M.D. Roofing & Construction appears in GAF's own contractor directory as a GAF Master Elite contractor. Master Elite is GAF's upper certification tier and makes a contractor eligible to offer GAF's stronger warranty products, including the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty on qualifying roof systems.
Does Texas issue a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, so no Frisco roofer is state licensed for roofing. Verification rests on current general liability and workers compensation insurance certificates, on voluntary credentials such as RCAT status and manufacturer certification, and on the City of Frisco permit record.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
They are different things. Membership means a company has joined the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, awarded as CRRL, RRL or CRL, is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and continuing education programme. M.D. Roofing & Construction is listed as a Member. Neither is a government licence.
Is Frisco in a hail prone part of Texas?
Yes. Frisco sits in the North Texas hail belt. Spring and early summer supercells regularly bring damaging hail across Denton and Collin counties, and hail is the leading reason roofs get replaced in this area.
Should I choose Class 4 impact resistant shingles?
In Frisco it is worth pricing. Class 4 is the highest rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and resists hail puncture better than a standard shingle. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier what discount applies to your policy before deciding.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Frisco?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is set locally. The City of Frisco issues residential roofing permits and inspections for properties inside the city limits, on both the Denton and Collin county sides. Get it in writing that the contractor pulls the permit, then confirm with the city.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing general liability and workers compensation, and ask the insurance agency to email it to you directly rather than accepting a forwarded copy. Confirm that the policy period covers your whole project.
Does it help that the owner is a licensed insurance adjuster?
It can help with paperwork and with understanding how a carrier scopes a hail loss, since the company's About page describes owner Michael Lance as a licensed Texas adjuster with a catastrophe adjusting background. Bear in mind the contractor still represents the contractor's interest, not yours as a policyholder. For a disputed claim you can hire your own public adjuster.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract after a hail storm?
Ask for the total price rather than a figure built around your deductible, the shingle brand and product line, the underlayment, the workmanship warranty length and who backs it, who pulls the permit, the payment schedule, and whether subcontractors will be used. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying or absorbing your insurance deductible, so treat any such offer as a red flag.
