About

Corey Construction is a residential and commercial roofing contractor headquartered at 4601 Westway Park Blvd., Suite 100 in northwest Houston. The company says it has been roofing in Texas since 1999 and now runs offices in Houston, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Central Texas, Atlanta and the Nashville area. The Houston address is its stated corporate office and is the address carried on its RCAT listing, its BBB profile and its Google listing. On the residential side the company handles roof replacement, repair, inspections and new construction roofing, working with homebuilders as well as individual homeowners. It runs a commercial and multifamily division from the same Houston address. Materials span asphalt shingles, metal, tile and slate on steep slope roofs, and TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen and coatings on flat and low slope work. Harris County is inland, so hail and straight line wind are the main roof damage drivers. Corey Construction advertises free roof inspections and help documenting insurance claims. It has been BBB Accredited since 2002 and holds an A+ BBB rating. Texas has no state roofing licence, so verify current general liability and workers compensation certificates directly with the company before signing.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0210 and 02-0209 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Purchased my home in April of 23, and about 11-14 months later started noticing signs of a minor roof. I am not very handy so it took me a few months of troubleshooting to diagnose the problem, but I was finally able to confirm that the issue is from a vent that was poorly installed and it was in fact an issue from the get go. I reached out to my builder who informed me that their warranty had expired but they provided me with the name of the company who installed the roof and it was Corey Construction. Despite my warranty with the builder being up I thought for sure if it’s a brand new roof that it would have a few year warranty and once I googled Corey Construction and saw that they looked reputable, that I would have no problem getting my roof fixed. I mean it was in fact an issue with the install. So I reached out to the company and they seemed very friendly and polite. Someone from their warranty team emailed me about a week after I contacted them and they said it was no longer under warranty. But they could come inspect it for a $200 fee to give me an estimate on the repair. I am incredibly frustrated with the experience and cannot recommend a company that is not willing to back their product that costs THOUSANDS of dollars, for only one year. That’s how long my microwave’s manufacturer warranty is. Not to mention it’s not the result of weather or natural damage or the shingles giving out. It’s due to a poor install. The leak was so small that it took about a year to even show damage.

Corey Roofing replaced my roof in 2023. They did a very professional job! Two years later I am selling this home & They came out to do a roof inspection & clarified and proved the home inspection the buyer had was incorrect in their findings! What a wonderful peace of mind to have a such a great company to depend on! Thank you Eric!!!

I recently had my roof replaced by Corey Construction Roofing, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the entire team was professional and efficient. They even handled removing and reinstalling my gutters as part of the job, and both the gutter crew and roofing crew were top-notch. Hudson, the project manager, did an outstanding job keeping everything on track, and Eric, the residential president, was great to work with. The new roof color looks fantastic, and the cleanup was perfect - everything was left spotless. I highly recommend Corey Construction Roofing for anyone needing roof work. Excellent service, great communication, and quality results!

I’d like to take just a few minutes to recognize the outstanding people at Corey Construction for their excellent and timely service they provided to my home after the Tornadoes that hit in Pasadena Tx on January 2023. Mario Duarte, the project manager, personally oversaw everything. From the beginning, making sure the right person was there to inspect the damage and working with our home insurance and explaining every little detail with the whole process. All the way until our roof was completely replaced. Our house is finally feeling like home again. Thank you Mario, and thank you Corey Construction for making this experience an easy one.

I highly recommend Corey Construction! Mario Duarte and Eric Gavina of Corey construction are stellar professionals, from start to finish. The service was excellent. Eric was very informative and courteous when he came to my home for the evaluation. Mario and his team replaced my roof in 1 day. The attention to detail far exceeded my expectations, from tear off to installation. I will most definitely refer my friends and family without hesitation. Absolute great experience, thanks guys!

Frequently asked

Is Corey Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in Houston holds one. Corey Construction appears in the RCAT directory under a residential roofing licence held by its principal, and the RCAT programme is an industry credential rather than a government one. Ask for current general liability and workers compensation certificates before signing.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT Membership means a company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through experience and testing requirements. They are not the same thing, and a listing can show one without the other.
Does Corey Construction actually have an office in Houston?
Yes. Houston is the company's corporate office. The address 4601 Westway Park Blvd., Suite 100 is published on the company's own offices and contact pages, on its BBB profile and on its RCAT record, and a Google listing exists at that address with a Houston phone number of (832) 300-3700.
Why does Corey Construction appear more than once in the RCAT directory?
RCAT issues commercial and residential licences separately, so a company doing both files under both classes. Corey Construction has six RCAT entries, a Residential Roofing entry and a Commercial Services entry for each of Houston, Austin and San Antonio. In each city the two entries carry the same street address and phone, so they are one office filed under two licence classes rather than two businesses.
Is hail a real risk in Harris County?
Yes, though Harris County sits south of the worst of the North and Central Texas hail belt. Severe spring thunderstorms still bring hail and straight line wind that bruise shingles and dent metal. Damage is often invisible from the ground, so a post storm inspection is worth booking even when the roof looks intact.
Do impact resistant shingles lower my insurance premium in Texas?
Many Texas insurers offer a discount for a roof built with UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistant shingles, but the size of the discount and the paperwork required vary by carrier. Ask your insurer what documentation it wants before the roof goes on, and keep the product data sheet and the final invoice.
Who pulls the roofing permit in Houston?
Texas has no single statewide roofing permit process, so requirements are set city by city. Confirm with the City of Houston permitting office whether your reroof needs a permit and inspection, and make sure the written contract states who pulls it and who pays for it.
What should I ask a Houston roofer before signing?
Ask for the certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurer, the name of the crew lead who will be on site, the manufacturer and product line of the shingle or membrane, what the workmanship warranty covers and for how long, whether the price changes if decking has to be replaced, and how change orders are handled.
Does Corey Construction help with insurance claims?
The company advertises free roof inspections and says it assists with insurance claims. In Texas a roofing contractor may not act as your public adjuster or negotiate the claim on your behalf, so treat that help as documentation and scope support rather than representation.
What roofing materials does Corey Construction install?
Its pages list asphalt shingles, metal, tile and slate for steep slope roofs, and TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen and roof coatings for flat and low slope commercial work.
