Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Would give more than 5 stars if I could. We own a large commercial building with multiple roof issues. After having more than 1 roofing company out we thankfully found Grizzly. We own multiple properties throughout the country, Grizzly is handsdown the best roofing company I've ever worked with

We purchased and new roof last month from Grizzly and were so impressed! They were extremely professional and worked with us on what we needed. We had many quotes from other roofers but Grizzly went above and beyond even with the estimate. They actually climbed on the roof and walked it. David was professional and his crew was amazing! We felt like part of the family after they were done. Highly recommend!!!

They installed a brand new heavy gauge commercial standing seam roof system on our facility in the Lake Charles area. This roof had a very complex system of gables and valleys requiring lots of labor intensive cuts and flashing to stucco. Grizzly Roofing performed great work that I expect to last the remaining life of the structure, at least 50 years. They were very thorough and made sure to repair everything we found in the way of hidden damage, so that our new roof investment will last as it should. This is not the first roof like this they have done for me. I have a previous project in the Lafayette area in place from 2010 that still looks just as it did the day they finished even after 3 or 4 hurricanes have hit that facility. If you need work done on your commercial roof, I would make these folks my first call. Clint and Danny will treat you like family and treat your project like it was their own roof.

I was very impressed with Clint and his team from the start. There were alot of different companies to choose from when it came to replacing my roof. I'm glad I chose Grizzly. The project manager David was there throughout the whole process and his team worked quickly to get my old roof removed and new roof installed. I would highly recommend Grizzly Roofing!!!

Couldn’t reccomend highly enough, absolutely the highest quality service I’ve ever had. I had a roofing replacement job to take care of on a property through insurance, and they came in perfectly fair on the bid and finished the job within two weeks of my first call with them. Top shelf workmanship, kind staff, incredible service!

Frequently asked

Is Grizzly Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas is state-licensed. The voluntary trade credential in Texas comes through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT). Grizzly Roofing & Construction is an RCAT member. Homeowners should always ask any roofer for a current certificate of general liability insurance before work begins.
Does Grizzly Roofing & Construction serve New Braunfels?
Yes. The company is listed in the roofing association directory with a New Braunfels address in Comal County, and its public office is at 13423 Blanco Road in San Antonio, so it works across the greater San Antonio and New Braunfels area.
What roofing services does Grizzly Roofing & Construction offer?
The company offers free roof inspections, roof replacement, storm damage assessment and repair, impact-resistant shingle installation, standing seam metal roofs, and commercial metal roofing, plus documentation support for insurance claims.
What warranty does Grizzly Roofing & Construction offer?
The company advertises a lifetime workmanship warranty covering installation issues, in addition to the manufacturer warranties that come with the roofing materials. As with any roofer, get the exact warranty terms in writing before signing a contract.
Can homeowners insurance pay for a roof replacement after a Central Texas hailstorm?
Often yes. If hail or wind damage is confirmed, most Texas homeowners policies cover roof replacement minus your deductible. Grizzly performs storm damage assessments and provides documentation to support the claim. Note that Texas law prohibits contractors from paying or rebating your insurance deductible.
What are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and are they worth it in Texas?
Class 4 is the highest impact rating for shingles under the UL 2218 test, and these shingles hold up better in hail. In hail-prone Central Texas they can reduce repeat damage, and many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for a Class 4 roof. Grizzly installs impact-resistant shingles.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Grizzly states that most residential roof replacements are completed in one to two days. Larger homes, steep pitches, metal systems, or weather delays can extend that timeline.
Is Grizzly Roofing & Construction BBB accredited?
Yes. The BBB profile for Grizzly Roofing and Construction in San Antonio shows the company has been BBB accredited since September 2025.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in San Antonio or New Braunfels?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting is set city by city. San Antonio and New Braunfels each have their own rules for reroofing permits and inspections. A reputable local contractor will know the requirements for your address and handle any permit that is needed.
What should I ask a roofer before signing a contract in Texas?
Ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance sent directly from the insurer, a written scope of work and itemized price, the workmanship warranty terms in writing, local references, and the physical business address. Be cautious with door-to-door offers after a storm, and never sign over an insurance check up front.
