About

FairClaims Roofing & Construction is a Spring based roofing contractor that has operated in Texas since 2002. From its Montgomery County home base the company has grown into a multi office operation, with service pages covering the Houston area, Dallas Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio metros. It installs and repairs composition shingle, metal, tile, slate and flat roofing systems on homes and commercial buildings, and also offers inspections, new construction roofing and solar roofing. As the name signals, insurance claims are central to how the company works. FairClaims focuses on storm and hail damage projects, handling damage assessment, documentation and the repair itself alongside the homeowner's insurance claim. Texas law draws clear lines around that model: a roofing contractor cannot act as a public adjuster or negotiate the claim, and cannot waive or absorb the deductible, which homeowners are required to pay. The company's role is inspection, documentation and construction, with the claim itself staying between the homeowner and the insurer. GAF's own contractor directory lists FairClaims as a GAF Master Elite roofer. The company also presents itself as a CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster, an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a Tamko Pro contractor; those three statuses are stated by the company and were not verified in the manufacturers' directories. BBB records date the LLC to 2002.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0535 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I couldn’t be happier with the work my roofing contractor did! From start to finish, the entire experience was professional, transparent, and focused on making sure I was completely satisfied. A special shout-out to Chris Graf, who went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Chris was incredibly helpful, patient, and flexible, taking the time to address every concern I had. He revised and worked through the contract multiple times without hesitation to make sure everything met my expectations. That level of dedication and customer service is hard to find. I also want to thank Ben for his outstanding support. He was always available to answer my questions, explain every detail, and work through the contract with me until I was fully comfortable and satisfied. His professionalism and responsiveness made the entire process much less stressful. The installation itself was excellent, and what has impressed me just as much is the outstanding support after the job was completed. It’s clear they stand behind their work and genuinely care about their customers. If you’re looking for a roofing company that delivers exceptional workmanship, honest communication, and truly puts the customer first, I highly recommend them!

Nice roof! Fairclaims roofing did a great job in a time crunch for us with a winter freeze in Jan ‘25 throwing off the schedule. They got the project done in 2 or 3 days even with supply chain challenges. We switched homeowners insurance to save money, but when the insurance company saw the old shingles on our roof, they gave us one month to replace the roof. We did have a minor leak that would cause drywall damage during heavy rain and upon closer inspection, we could see the roof needed to be replaced. I a lot of research and got quotes from multiple roofers. Chris Kidd was excellent to work with and very helpful answering all my questions. He helped us apply for financing and we paid off the project in 12 months. After the work was done, they sent a pool cleaner out to clean up debris that settled at the bottom of the pool. The crew did cover the pool before they started work, but it didn’t work out. We contacted Chris anytime we had a concern as the roofing project was in progress and he took care of it. Bonus - our agreement with Fairclaims roofing includes ann annual inspection and minor maintenance once a year for five years after they install the roof. Our roof looks great and I just reached out to schedule an inspection and get a quote on installing a gutter in an area that doesn’t have one. I highly recommend Fairclaims Roofing - just keep the lines of communication open during the project and they will take care of you.

What an experience we had with Fairclaims Roofing. We originally had them look at our roof due to a leaking area we found. Mike came out and checked it out and gave us his opinion on our roof. We chose to go with replacing the entire roof and he was very helpful with the process. We were pleased with the pricing of their quote and due to their reputation, we decided to go with them and not even worry about checking other places. We are very happy with the completed product and highly recommend them. Thank you Mike and your crew with the new roof. It looks amazing.

My experience with Fairclaims Roofing was absolutely excellent! The contractor was very honest and professional with the procedures and benefits of a metal roof with zero sales pressure! They removed the old shingles and and replaced decking when needed. The installation crew was always courteous and arrived each day on time. Their attention to details and craftsmanship was amazing! I am completely satisfied and pleased with my new metal roof! When the job was completed, they all debris like they were never there! My new roof is BEAUTIFUL!!! I highly recommend their services when you decide it’s time.

My total experience with FairClaims Roofing was impressive. Ben Newell provided expert knowledge and educated me on the different shingle ratings, which is crucial when choosing durable materials. Especially because I live in an area affected by hurricanes and other major storms. Ben helped me with the color selection for the WOW factor curb appeal. He kept me updated during the scheduling process and delay due to the weather. All of my questions were answered, ensuring my peace of mind. I went with the UHDZ rated 4, color Charcoal.

Frequently asked

Does FairClaims hold a Texas state roofing license?
No roofer does, because Texas has no state roofing license. Useful trust signals instead are verified insurance, RCAT status and local track record. This directory lists FairClaims with the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor status.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company has joined the trade association and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separate and must be earned through testing and vetting by RCAT. The two are not equivalent, so it is worth asking any roofer which they hold.
Can FairClaims waive or absorb my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law has required homeowners to pay their deductible in full since 2019, and it is illegal for any contractor to waive, absorb or offset it. Treat a deductible discount offer from any roofer as a red flag.
Can a claims focused roofer negotiate my hail claim with my insurer?
Not in Texas. A roofing contractor cannot act as a public adjuster, so negotiation stays between you, your insurer and, if you hire one, a licensed public adjuster. A roofer like FairClaims can inspect, document damage and meet the adjuster on site, but it cannot settle the claim for you.
What types of roofs does FairClaims install?
The company works on composition shingle, metal, tile, slate and flat or low slope roofing systems, on both residential and commercial buildings.
Where does FairClaims work?
It is based in Spring in Montgomery County and lists service areas across the Houston region, Dallas Fort Worth, the Austin corridor and San Antonio.
Is FairClaims certified by shingle manufacturers?
GAF's own contractor directory lists FairClaims as a GAF Master Elite roofer. The company also states CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster, Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and Tamko Pro status; those claims were not verified in the manufacturers' directories.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in this part of Texas?
Hail is the dominant roofing risk across much of Texas, and Class 4 shingles resist it best. Many Texas insurers offer premium credits for them, but ask your insurer first about the discount and whether a cosmetic damage exclusion comes with it.
How long has FairClaims been in business?
The company began in 2002, and BBB records show its file opened the same year, so the track record spans more than two decades of Texas storm cycles.
What should I check before signing a storm damage roofing contract?
Ask for a certificate of insurance naming you as certificate holder, a written scope with exact materials, and local references. Do not sign anything presented as required to start your claim unless you understand it, and remember permitting rules vary city by city in Texas.
