Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0207 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had a great experience with Eldridge Roofing. Everyone we worked with was excellent, and the communication throughout the entire project really stood out. Every interaction we had was professional, helpful, and easy. The whole process went smoothly from start to finish, and we’re very happy with how everything turned out. The new roof looks fantastic. The only issue we ran into was after a heavy rain, when we noticed a number of roofing nails had washed into the driveway and surrounding areas. It’s something to be aware of after a project like this. That said, once we reached out, the team responded quickly and took care of it without any hassle. Overall, the experience was very positive, and this didn’t change how we feel about the company at all. We’d absolutely recommend Eldridge Roofing based on our experience.

SUMMARY: Eldridge replaced my entire roof, siding, and back windows in 2022. They also remediated water damage inside the house. Eldridge did a wonderful high quality job and were a breeze to work with. Their customer service is top notch and I highly recommend them. BACKGROUND: I purchased this house after a long dry spell in 2022 and shortly after had water pouring into my living room during the first subsequent storm. I called Eldridge in a panic going into a holiday weekend and they arrived within half an hour. DAMAGE & REPAIRS: My roof had multiple leaks the prior owners hid from inspectors, various areas of water damage inside the house, and the siding was rotted badly enough you could stick your finger into it when it was wet. Eldridge walked me through their damage assessment, spoke with the insurance company, and checked in routinely. They replaced my roof, tore out the old siding, and installed hardy plank. I had them replace my old single paned windows with double paned since we were doing siding work. Eldridge also repaired and repainted all water damaged areas inside the house. They were extremely fast to respond to questions and concerns and made things right ASAP. Their crews made sure to report deviations or problems to the project manager and me. One example is where they found burned wood inside a wall where the wiring had been hooked up incorrectly. I was able to get an electrician to fix the issue before the new siding was installed.

Shannon was great we absolutely enjoyed working with him! He was very helpful and held our hand through the entire process, which made everything so much easier. He followed up consistently and was a true pleasure to work with. Ashley was also fantastic and very communicative throughout the whole project. Ryan was very helpful during the solar install as well. The entire crew that built our roof was impressive, they were efficient and did a wonderful job. I truthfully enjoyed everyone I had the opportunity to work with. Our project went very smoothly, and I’m so grateful we chose Eldridge.

After about 6 months of back and forth with our insurance company (of course they denied my original claim!) we were able to get two independant appraisors to agree the roof required repair as a result of a hail storm. Eldridge helped me through the process and made it fairly painless. Ashley was a huge help also! She let me know what the process would be from beginning to end and did all the leg work. Thank goodness! For the roof install - Exceptional experience with Eldridge Home Improvements! The onsite customer care person was extremely polite and professional, keeping us updated throughout the day regarding the progress. The crew was highly respectful of our property and did a thorough, fantastic cleanup. Highly recommend them for their top-notch service and communication!

My overall experience with Eldridge was great. Everyone I worked with across the board provided top-notch customer service. They were all extremely friendly, and I really appreciated how available they were. No matter where or when I called, someone was always there to help. Brandon was very helpful from start to finish. Leonard was also great on the day of the build. He managed everything smoothly, and the crews working on the roof were all super nice. They answered every question and addressed any concerns we had right away. I’m already looking forward to the customer appreciation events.

Frequently asked

Is there a Texas state license for roofers?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level. Practical checks are proof of insurance, RCAT standing, manufacturer credentials like GAF Master Elite, and BBB history.
What does this company's RCAT Member status mean?
RCAT Member means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Membership is distinct from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which requires testing and vetting. This listing reflects Member status.
What is a GAF Master Elite contractor?
Master Elite is GAF's top residential certification tier, requiring insurance verification, an established reputation and ongoing training, and it allows the contractor to offer GAF's strongest system warranties. GAF's directory lists this company as a Master Elite roofer under its Eldridge Roofing & Restoration name.
Why does the Houston area need storm-ready roofing?
The Gulf Coast region sees hurricane remnants, tropical storms and severe hail. Proper decking attachment, sealed underlayment and wind-rated shingles all improve how a roof performs in these events, so ask how each is handled in your quote.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Spring or Conroe?
Texas permitting is city by city, and unincorporated Harris and Montgomery County areas have their own rules. Confirm with your local building department, and put in writing who pulls any required permit.
What is a solar detach and reset, and when do I need one?
If you have rooftop solar panels and need a new roof, the panels must be removed and reinstalled around the reroof. Using one contractor for both, as Eldridge advertises, avoids finger-pointing between a roofer and a solar company if anything leaks later.
Will insurance pay for hurricane or hail damage to my roof?
Most Texas policies cover sudden wind and hail damage, though many Houston-area policies carry a separate wind/hail or named-storm deductible. Document damage, file promptly, and have your contractor meet the adjuster.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer, a written scope with the exact shingle system, warranty registration details, local references, and the project timeline. Avoid anyone offering to eat your deductible, which is illegal in Texas.
Does Eldridge handle water damage inside the home?
Yes. The company offers water damage mitigation and restoration and displays IICRC restoration credentials on its website, so it can address interior damage that follows a roof leak or storm event.
The company has had several names. Is that a red flag?
Not in this case. BBB records tie Eldridge Home Improvements, Eldridge Roofing & Restoration and Eldridge Roofing & Solar to the same Spring/Conroe business with the same leadership and an A+ rating since 2014. The renames track its expansion from roofing into solar and broader home services.
