About
Circle L Solar, Inc. trades publicly as Circle L Solar & Roofing and is based at 5450 Stratum Dr, Suite 110 in Fort Worth, in Tarrant County. The name in the RCAT record reflects the original solar business, but the company today runs two connected brands: Circle L Solar at circlelsolar.com for solar, battery storage and EV charging, and Circle L Roofing & General Contractors at circlelroofingtx.com for roofing and general construction. The solar site describes the roofing arm directly as a division of Circle L Solar, and the BBB and the company's own about page both use the combined name Circle L Solar & Roofing. So the honest answer is both: it is a single Fort Worth company that does solar and roofing, and the roofing side is a real operating division with its own website and phone presence, not a name change. On the roofing side the company offers roof inspections, roof installation and replacement, roof repair, hail and wind damage assessment, general construction and home repairs. It puts heavy emphasis on insurance claims, describing an in house supplement team that reviews the adjuster's scope of work. On the energy side it offers solar panel installation, battery storage and EV charger installation, and it states that licensed electrical and HVAC work in Texas is subcontracted. The company states it was founded in 2016 with more than 20 years of combined industry experience, and it operates only within Texas, with the Fort Worth head office plus listed offices in Houston and Leander. It is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since January 2022. Its RCAT standing is recorded here as Member.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Overall, my experience has been quite positive. From the first meeting to final setup, everything was handled in a professional and organized way. They explained each step clearly and didn’t rush the process. The installation team worked efficiently and cleaned up after finishing. There was a small issue with the monitoring app at first, but their support team fixed it quickly. It’s been a few months now, and I can already see a reduction in my electricity bills. It feels like a reliable long-term improvement for my home.
They are horrible. Unprofessional and always want to blame others for their mistakes. I have been experiencing ongoing issues with my solar panel system and have countless emails documenting these problems. Despite multiple attempts to have the issues resolved, they remain unresolved. At one point, the owner attempted to persuade me to allow them to repair my roof and indicated they would overlook my having another company tie into the solar system. However, the other company did not cause the problem. The production issues existed long before they became involved. I have a total of 27 solar panels, yet I continue to pay over $600 per month in electricity costs in addition to my solar panel payment. This is unreasonable, especially for a household of four that minimizes electricity usage by keeping lights off during the day and limiting usage in the evenings.the company who manages my production indicated this was an ongoing issue and yet they will not fix. The company that monitors and manages the production of my solar system has informed me that the system has been experiencing production issues since the beginning of service in 2022. Additionally, I have an email dated August 2024 confirming that my solar panels were underproducing due to an identified issue. Given the size of my solar system and my household’s efforts to conserve energy, these excessive electric bills indicate that the system has not been performing as represented. I am seeking a resolution to this matter and accountability for the ongoing underperformance of the solar panel system. I am about to get fox 7 to investigate. I have emails to prove these allegations.
When installing solar panels, they identified a $6000 roof problem that was really much more extensive than they disclosed. Oh BTW they are also a roofing company! At that point we had no choice but to use them. The change order delineated what they were supposed to do-they did not do what it said. They also gave a 2 yr warranty but when shown the considerable roof leaks, claimed it was not where they repaired. ALSO BEST PRACTICE IS NOT TO PUT SOLAR PANELS ON A ROOF THAT IS NEAR OR AT THE END OF ITS LIFE! This roof was over 35 years old and we should have been informed that we needed to do the roof first before installing the solar panels. Now we are out a considerable amount of money to uninstall and reinstall the solar panels after our new roof is finished. This is just shady practice. We contacted Shaun and asked for reimbursement for this egregious practice and he would not budge. Any reputable company would have worked with us to save their reputation.
My experience with this company fell short of the expectations set during the sales process. The sales follow-up felt relentless and difficult to disengage from, with consistent pressure to move forward quickly and sign without sufficient time to consider the details. The system’s performance has been inconsistent, and the overall quality has been disappointing and unprofessional. I was uncomfortable with what appeared to be organized encouragement of positive online reviews, which made me question the reliability of some public ratings. When service issues arose, the repair estimates were significantly higher than expected, and I was informed that using their service team was necessary to maintain warranty coverage. Communication regarding warranty terms and responsibilities are rude, threatening and lacked clarity.
Circle L has been a fantastic company to work with! They did my first solar and generator system on my ranch in Stephenville in 2020 and the experience was so good, we went back to them for a new system on my house at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson. They were prompt, transparent and did a fantastic job with the installation and assistance with finding a provider that would buy back my excess generation. The system installed in 2020 has been flawless for nearly 4 years now. I’ll go back again for any needs in the future and highly recommend them!
