Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Casa did a great job! They replaced my roof in 1 day at a great price.

It's always refreshing to do business with a company that values customer satisfaction and integrity. Casa Roofing, LLC seems to embody these qualities, swiftly addressing issues and standing by their work. I recently discovered a leak in my roof, and they came out the NEXT day to evaluate the problem. When they discovered that the leak was due to an installation issue, they fixed it at no cost to me. Casa Roofing is a reliable choice for anyone seeking a trustworthy company to handle their roofing needs.

As a general contractor, Casa Roofing has completed several homes for me, from metal standing seam, to composition shingles. Their pricing is better than most other roofing contractors, and the finish quality is outstanding. Casa's management and outside sales personnel are professional and experienced in the industry. Additionally, they make sure that jobs are completed on schedule, and they are quick to respond to any questions or issues that may arise. I highly recommend Casa Roofing to anyone looking for a roofing contractor to complete your next project.

We had a very easy pleasant experience working with Ty and Casa Roofing. He gave us an honest estimate with options on repairing or replacing our roof. We chose to replair it and when the time comes will definitely use Casa to replace it. It was wonderful knowing they are honest and they did a great job repairing our roof when another roofing company told us it could not be repaired but would have to be replaced. I highly recommend Casa!

We had Casa Roofing re-roof our home and could not be happier. All the employees of this establishment were courteous, efficient and always showed up when scheduled. The main job was finished in two days with just a few details to wrap up on a partial third day. Working with Ty (one of the co-owners) through this entire process made it stress free for us. Every detail was explained so we always knew what to expect. Our emails and phone calls were always answered or returned promptly. The main roofer, Manuel, is very knowledgeable and works well with his crew. The finished product is what we expected and hoped for and comes with a five year workmanship warranty. If you are in need of a new roof or roof repair, Casa Roofing is a company you should consider.

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer in Schertz or San Antonio can be "state licensed" for roofing. What matters instead is current general liability and workers compensation insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT status, and whatever registration or permit the local city requires.
What does it mean that Casa Roofing is an RCAT Member?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two different things. Plain membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own testing programme. Casa Roofing is recorded as a Member, which is not the same as holding the Licensed credential.
Is Casa Roofing accredited by the Better Business Bureau?
Yes. The BBB profile for Casa Roofing, LLC of Schertz shows accreditation since February 28, 2018 and an A+ rating. Accreditation is a BBB programme, not a government licence, so treat it as one data point among several.
How long has Casa Roofing been in business?
The BBB records the business as started and incorporated on August 29, 2017, and the company's About page says it was established in 2017. The company separately cites more than 17 years of combined roofing and construction experience among its people.
Why do people around San Antonio talk so much about hail?
Central and North Texas sit in the corridor often called Hail Alley, and hail is the single biggest driver of roof replacement in the region. Wind driven rain and hail bruising often do not leak straight away, which is why an inspection after a storm is worth booking even when the ceiling looks fine.
Are impact resistant Class 4 shingles worth it here?
Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested to resist damage from steel ball impacts and are widely used across the Texas hail belt. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you choose, and ask any roofer to quote the Class 4 option alongside the standard one.
What materials does Casa Roofing install?
Its own site names asphalt shingles and standing seam metal, on both pitched and flat roof systems. If you want a specific product line or a Class 4 impact rated shingle, ask for it by name on the written proposal.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Schertz?
Texas has no statewide building code administration, so permitting and inspection rules are set city by city and county by county. Schertz, Cibolo, Selma and San Antonio each run their own process. Ask your contractor in writing who pulls the permit and who schedules the final inspection.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for current certificates of insurance for both general liability and workers compensation sent directly from the insurer or agent, a written scope with the exact shingle line and colour, the warranty terms for both material and workmanship, the payment schedule, and confirmation of who handles the permit. Be cautious about signing anything that assigns your insurance claim rights.
How do manufacturer certifications actually help a homeowner?
Shingle manufacturers run contractor programmes that can unlock extended system warranties, but only when the certification is current and the specified system is installed in full. Casa Roofing describes itself as a CertainTeed ShingleMaster. We could not confirm that on CertainTeed's own contractor directory, so ask the company to show its current certificate and the exact warranty it can register for your roof.
