About
Bueno Roofing Inc. is a family owned and operated roofing and exterior contractor based at 5144 East Sam Houston Pkwy North, Suite 120 in Houston, and it appears in the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas member directory as member 1698. The company works on both residential and commercial or multi-family properties and describes over 20 years of professional experience in the trade.
The work list runs beyond the roof itself. Alongside roof replacement and repair, Bueno Roofing installs seamless gutters and wood, vinyl and metal fencing, and it handles storm damage restoration, which means a single contractor can address most of what a Houston hail or wind event damages on the outside of a house. The company advertises 24/7 emergency repair response.
On materials, the company states it installs asphalt shingle systems from CertainTeed, Atlas and Malarkey. Those are the brands it says it buys, not manufacturer credentials. No listing for Bueno Roofing Inc. was found on the GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed contractor directories, and no BBB profile for the Houston company was found, so the roofer is best judged on its RCAT membership, its own portfolio and a current certificate of insurance.
Highlights
Listed in the RCAT contractor directory as a Texas roofing association member (member id 1698).
Family owned and operated, with the company stating over 20 years of professional roofing experience.
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration
Voluntary registry in HoustonRoofer Registration Program. Joining is optional here, so not being listed is not a mark against a company.
Status Current in the RCAT directory (no published licence number for this record)
RCAT member ID1698 (member since 2025)
Licence boardRCAT, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (Texas issues no state roofing licence; RCAT runs the licensing programme)
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

From start to finish, the process was not only easy, it was professional and customer experience was great! Efrain was prompt, and followed up throughout the process in detail and made suggestions that benefited our needs. The quality of the fence work and new gates we got installed was excellent and would definitely recommend them to my friends and family!

Efrian came out and did an onsite inspection of my roof that was leaking. After a thorough look, he explained in detail what he found. I had 3 other contractor quoting the same work, some of which missed items Efrain pointed out. At the end of the day I chose to go with Bueno Roofing. Efrains dad came out the next morning and the repairs were done in a few hours. Honesty, Quality, and Professionalism go a long way in this business. Bueno Roofing has all 3. I will be selling my house at the end of the year, and I definitely will be looking at Bueno Roofing to do the work. Thank you Efrain and dad (sorry didn't get his name). Great job guys!

I had a solar powered attic fan installed on my roof and Bueno Roofing Co. was very reliable and professional. Great price and outstanding work. They also did extra work for the same price. I’m very happy with their service and even more with the performance of the attic fan. Now my house doesn’t get as hot and the air conditioning gets colder. Thank you Bueno Roofing.

Frequently asked
Is Bueno Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofer in Texas is. Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so there is no state licence number to check for any Texas roofer. What you can check instead is general liability and workers compensation insurance, trade association membership such as RCAT, and whether the city requires a contractor registration for the permit. Bueno Roofing appears in the RCAT member directory as member 1698.
What does RCAT Member actually mean?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. A Member is a company that has joined and pays dues, which shows industry participation and access to training, but it is not a government licence and it is not the same as RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL). Bueno Roofing is listed as a Member, not as an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor.
How do I verify insurance before I sign anything?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing general liability and, if the company has employees, workers compensation. Do not accept a photo of a certificate from the salesperson. Ask that the certificate be emailed to you directly by the insurance agency listed on it, and confirm the policy dates cover the days your roof will actually be open.
Are impact resistant shingles worth it in Houston?
Class 4 impact resistant shingles are the top rating under the UL 2218 steel ball test and they hold up better against hail. Many Texas homeowner carriers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, though the amount varies by carrier and is not automatic. Ask your insurer what discount it gives and get the specific product name and rating in writing on the proposal before you pay a premium for it.
Does Bueno Roofing hold GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed certification?
Not that we could verify. The company states it installs CertainTeed, Atlas and Malarkey asphalt shingles, but no profile for Bueno Roofing Inc. of Houston was found on the GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed contractor directories. Manufacturer certification matters because enhanced system warranties are usually only available through a credentialed installer, so ask the company directly which manufacturer programs it is enrolled in and what warranty that unlocks.
Who pulls the roofing permit in Houston?
Texas has no statewide building code for residential work, so permitting is set city by city and county by county. In the Houston area the requirements differ between the City of Houston, unincorporated Harris County and the smaller incorporated cities. The contractor should tell you in writing whether a permit is required for your address and who is filing it. If a roofer says permits are never needed, get that confirmed by the local building department yourself.
How does a hail or windstorm insurance claim usually work?
You file the claim with your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues a scope and an estimate. The roofer should be willing to meet the adjuster on site and document anything missed. Payment normally comes in stages, an initial actual cash value cheque and a recoverable depreciation payment released after the work is completed and invoiced. Your deductible is always yours to pay.
Can a roofer pay or absorb my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or promising to absorb all or part of your insurance deductible on a property insurance claim. If a company offers to eat the deductible, or to inflate the invoice so the deductible disappears, walk away. That offer puts both of you at risk on the claim.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the full scope in writing, the exact shingle product and rating, whether decking replacement is included or charged per sheet, who pulls the permit, what the labour warranty covers and for how long, whether the crew is employed or subcontracted, and what the payment schedule is. A deposit before materials are delivered should be modest, and any change order should be signed before the extra work happens.
Where does Bueno Roofing work?
The company markets itself across the Houston area and into East Texas, on residential, commercial and multi-family properties. Because it lists no formal service area map, confirm your specific address is within its normal working radius when you request an estimate, especially for the outer Houston suburbs.
