Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0047 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Boyd Eye Care in Mansfield is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, the entire team at Boyd Eye Care makes you feel welcome and cared for. Everyone in the office is incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Dr. Banh is outstanding—thorough, patient, and always takes the time to answer every question without ever making you feel rushed. She explains everything clearly and genuinely cares about her patients, which makes a huge difference. What really stood out to me was their flexibility and compassion. We had to make a last-minute scheduling change due to an urgent situation with our pet, and they accommodated us the same day without hesitation. That level of understanding and customer service is rare. They are also amazing with kids. My 8-year-old is completely at ease during visits—Dr. Banh and the staff talk him through everything step-by-step, which makes the experience stress-free and even enjoyable for him. I highly recommend Boyd Eye Care, and especially Dr. Banh, to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient-centered provider with a truly caring team.

Dr Peterson always takes the time with me to do a thorough examination. Emma at the front desk is so kind and professional. The guy who does the puff of air in my eye is fantastic! He does it quick and always on the first time. They are wonderful, and I have gone to them for years!

The staff at Boyd Eyecare are friendly & very patient with me. Although it would have been good to have known that I needed to fill out the online forms again for my annual exam, it’s harder to handwrite things now that my hands are not working too good. It’s always a pleasure to be under Dr Banh’s care. She explained how my eyes are doing especially with me having diabetes and slight cataracts due to aging. I’m so glad to have found them especially they taking our insurance (FEP BlueVision). Can’t go wrong in having my eyes taken care by them :-)

Frequently asked

Who is Boyd Bone Dry and why does the directory list it as Boyd?
The registered entity is Boyd, Inc., and the public brand is Boyd Bone Dry. The source record carried only the shortened name Boyd. The company operates from 601 South Sixth Avenue, Mansfield, TX 76063.
Is Boyd licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. What Boyd does hold is the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which is a voluntary industry credential, plus commercial insurance you should verify before work starts.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
A Member simply belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing, an ethics commitment and continuing education. Boyd is listed under the Licensed credential, which is the higher of the two.
Does Boyd handle residential roofs?
Its published positioning is commercial and industrial roofing and construction consulting, though the system list it publishes includes shingles, tile, wood shake and slate. If you are a homeowner rather than a property manager, ask directly whether your job fits their book of work.
What roof systems does Boyd install?
TPO and other single ply, modified bitumen, built up gravel, metal, sprayed polyurethane foam, coatings, plus shingles, tile, wood shake and slate. It also offers restoration and coating as an alternative to full replacement where the deck and insulation are sound.
What does GAF GoldElite Commercial mean?
It is a top tier commercial contractor status within GAF's programme. GoldElite commercial contractors can offer GAF's extended no dollar limit guarantee on qualifying systems, which covers labour as well as material for the guarantee term. Boyd lists GoldElite for 2025 and appears in GAF's commercial contractor directory.
Is Mansfield in a windstorm certification zone?
No. Tarrant County is inland North Texas and is not one of the 14 TWIA first tier coastal counties, so WPI-8 windstorm certification does not apply here. Hail is the dominant risk instead.
How does hail affect a commercial low slope roof?
Hail bruises modified bitumen and single ply membranes, fractures the coating on granulated caps, and dents metal panels and rooftop equipment. Damage is often invisible from ground level, which is why infrared and on roof surveys matter more than a drive by look after a storm.
What is infrared thermography used for on a roof?
It finds trapped moisture inside the roof assembly by reading the temperature difference between wet and dry insulation, usually after sunset. It lets an owner replace only the saturated sections rather than the whole roof in some cases.
What should a Texas property owner ask before signing a commercial roofing contract?
Ask for certificates of general liability and workers compensation direct from the insurer, ask which manufacturer guarantee tier the job qualifies for and who inspects for it, get the tear off versus recover decision in writing, confirm who pulls the local permit since permitting in Texas is set city by city, and agree the maintenance obligations that keep the guarantee valid.
