About

Trinity Roofing & Construction is a family owned roofing and general contracting company at 1315 FM 1187, Suite 107 in Mansfield, in Tarrant County. The RCAT directory dates the company to August 2011 and lists Lauren Carriker as the contact, with Commercial and Residential Roofing Licenses held by P. Duncan (#03-0240) and J. Carriker (#03-0239). The BBB profile has been accredited since 2011 with an A+ rating and names Paul M. Duncan, Lauren Carriker and Raymond Meredith as directors. The company works across the Dallas Fort Worth area and North Texas on residential roof replacement and repair, commercial roof repair, restoration and maintenance, gutter installation, window replacement and solar, and it presents itself as a full service general contractor rather than a roofing only outfit. Owens Corning lists Trinity as a Platinum Preferred Contractor, the top tier of that manufacturer's program. The company states on its own site that it also installs products from Atlas Roofing, Malarkey, GAF, CertainTeed, F-Wave and Euroshield. One practical note for anyone checking the paper trail: Trinity previously used theroofexperts.com, which is still the address printed in the RCAT directory. That domain now issues a permanent redirect to trinityroofingconstruction.com, which is the live site today.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0240 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had a very complicated insurance situation, with a different company we had used and a roof claim that had been completed months previously. Trinity worked with our insurance company to get everything resolved, and none of the burden of dealing with insurance fell on me. David managed our project start to finish and was amazing. He was very communicative, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Our new roof, vent, and gutters look amazing, and I will definitely refer them to friends and family. I highly recommend Trinity and am so grateful they made the process as easy as they did.

Alex from Trinity Roofing did an amazing job at my mother-in-laws house. After several roofing companies "ghosted" her when they found out she didn't have enough roof damage to warrant a full replacement, she was getting very frustrated. I referred her to Alex on a Tues, he went out to inspect the damage and give her an estimate and the work was completed successfully by that Fri! My mother-in-law is very happy with the amazing customer service and professional repair work. Thank you Alex and Trinity Roofing!!!

Frequently asked

Is Trinity Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofing company is. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so there is no government licence to check. What you can check is RCAT registration, which Trinity holds as a Mansfield member with two Commercial and Residential Roofing Licenses on file, plus current general liability and workers compensation insurance, which you should ask for in writing.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
Membership means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is earned separately through testing and experience and is held by a named individual. Trinity's RCAT record shows both: it is a member, and it lists Commercial and Residential Roofing Licenses #03-0240 and #03-0239.
Does Mansfield hail damage really justify impact resistant shingles?
Mansfield sits in the North Texas hail corridor, where storms large enough to bruise or fracture shingles arrive most springs. Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested to survive a two inch steel ball dropped from twenty feet, and most Texas carriers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your insurer what the discount is before you decide, because it often pays back a meaningful share of the upgrade.
What does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred actually get me?
Platinum Preferred is the top tier of the Owens Corning contractor network and it is what unlocks that manufacturer's longest system warranties, which cover labour as well as materials. Only a small share of roofers hold it. You can confirm any contractor's status yourself on the Owens Corning contractor locator rather than taking a logo on a truck at face value.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Mansfield?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is set city by city. Mansfield, like most Tarrant County cities, requires a permit for a full reroof and an inspection afterwards. A legitimate contractor pulls it in their own name and gives you the inspection result. If someone suggests skipping the permit to save time, that is a reason to walk.
How should I handle a hail insurance claim?
Get the roof inspected and documented with photographs before you file, so you know whether the damage is genuinely claimable. File with your carrier directly, meet the adjuster on site, and have your contractor there for that meeting. Never sign a contract that assigns your claim benefits or lets a contractor negotiate on your behalf without you seeing the paperwork.
Is a contractor allowed to pay or absorb my deductible?
No. Under Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 it is illegal for a contractor to waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible, and any contractor offering it must state in writing that you are responsible for paying it. An offer to eat the deductible is a red flag about how the rest of the job will be run.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer, the RCAT record and licence number, the manufacturer certification and the level, who pulls the permit, the workmanship warranty length and what voids it, the payment schedule, and whether the crew is employed or subcontracted. Get all of it on paper before any money changes hands.
Does Trinity do commercial as well as residential work?
Yes. Its BBB listing and its own site describe residential and commercial roof repairs, replacements and maintenance, plus commercial roof restoration. The company also markets itself as a full service general contractor covering windows, gutters, insulation and solar, so a storm job does not have to be split across several trades.
How long does a roof last in the Dallas Fort Worth climate?
Shorter than the shingle rating suggests. Heat cycling, UV exposure and repeated hail mean a standard architectural shingle roof in DFW often reaches practical end of life around 15 to 20 years rather than the 30 printed on the bundle. Impact rated shingles and adequate attic ventilation both extend that, which is worth discussing at quote stage.
