About

Mike Huddleston Roofing Systems operates from 1285 N Main Street, Suite 201 in Mansfield, Texas. The BBB records the business as started on 7 November 1978 and reorganised as an LLC on 14 March 2011, which makes it one of the longer running roofing operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Mr. Mike Huddleston is listed as the principal contact on the BBB record. The company works on both residential and commercial roofs but is most visible on the commercial side, with dedicated pages for TPO roofing systems, commercial metal roofing, flat and low slope roofs, and shingle roofing. Its own site describes the business as an early adopter of TPO systems in the DFW area and covers commercial roof repair, roof restoration, leak and damage repair and full replacement. Its published service map spans Mansfield, Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Plano, Keller and Austin. CertainTeed's own contractor directory lists the company as a ShingleMaster credential holder, active since 2006, which is a manufacturer verified credential rather than a marketing claim. The company has also been a BBB Accredited Business since February 2010 with an A+ rating, and its site advertises a lifetime workmanship warranty. Its RCAT status is Member, meaning association membership rather than the separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Mikes team did a fantastic job on the roof at our new residence! His crew worked fast and efficient and completed in one day! There was severe damage to the sheathing and had a lot of wood rot - lots of leaking inside the house. It’s a two story home with multiple roof lines on both stories. They took care of all of it for a VERY reasonable price and it will now pass inspection. When we stopped by to look in yesterday it was a mess outside - roofing is messy work - however on our drive by this morning, it’s like they were never there. All trash was picked up and taken away for disposal. The new roof is beautiful! Thanks Mike and team! Great job!😁

Darren is an amazing roofer, fast, efficient and always there for my clients. He has done numerous roofs all over Texas for my clients and is always available to assist them even after the new roof is installed. That is 5 star service always!

Daniel Koepke of Mike Huddleston Roofing Systems personally managed my roof replacement from start to finish. He made the materials adjustments on the bid to satisfy my preferences and then made multiple visits to the property throughout the progress of the job to make sure I was totally satisfied with the work. His service was top notch! I would recommend Daniel and Mike Huddleston Roofing to anyone who appreciates great service.

Jeff Hart over at Mike Huddleston Roofing did a great job on my new construction home build. Communication was great throughout the process as he was able to meet to hand off samples early in the process and scheduling for his team to start was easy and flexible.

Frequently asked

Is this company licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no roofer in the state holds one. The meaningful checks are current general liability and workers' compensation insurance, RCAT status, BBB accreditation and manufacturer certification. Mike Huddleston Roofing Systems is a BBB Accredited Business and holds a CertainTeed ShingleMaster credential confirmed on CertainTeed's own directory.
Is this company RCAT Member or RCAT Licensed?
Member. RCAT membership means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. That is not the same as the association's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires testing and additional requirements. The two are often blurred in advertising, so it is worth asking directly.
What is the CertainTeed ShingleMaster credential?
It is a manufacturer credential that requires crews to pass CertainTeed training and the company to meet insurance and quality standards, and it lets the contractor offer extended CertainTeed system warranties. CertainTeed's public directory lists this company as holding it since 2006. Because it is published by the manufacturer itself rather than the contractor, it is a credential you can independently verify.
Which county is the Mansfield office in?
Tarrant County. Mansfield straddles the Tarrant, Johnson and Ellis county lines, so the answer depends on the actual street address. The office at 1285 N Main Street, Suite 201, Mansfield, TX 76063 falls on the Tarrant County side. If county matters for your permit or insurance paperwork, confirm against your own property address rather than the city name.
Do they do commercial flat roofs as well as houses?
Yes, and commercial low slope work is a large part of the business. The company publishes separate pages for TPO roofing systems, commercial metal roofing and flat roofs, and describes itself as an early adopter of TPO in the DFW market. Residential shingle roofing is also offered, which is consistent with its CertainTeed ShingleMaster credential.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it around Mansfield?
Usually. Tarrant County sits squarely in the North Texas hail belt and takes repeated damaging storms. Class 4 shingles pass a two inch steel ball impact test, and most Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a verified Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier to quote the discount in writing before choosing, since the size of the credit varies a lot between insurers.
Does a roof in Mansfield need WPI-8 windstorm certification?
No. WPI-8 certificates issued through the Texas Department of Insurance apply only to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Mansfield is inland in Tarrant County, so no WPI-8 inspection applies. Hail rating, proper deck fastening and correct ventilation are the things that matter in this market.
Who pulls the permit?
There is no statewide Texas building code for this, so permitting and inspection rules are set by each city or county. Mansfield requires roofing permits, and the contractor normally pulls it. Make sure the contract states who pulls the permit and that the price includes it, and hold final payment until the city inspection has passed.
What warranty is offered?
The company advertises a full lifetime workmanship warranty on its own website. Separately, its CertainTeed ShingleMaster status allows extended CertainTeed system warranties on qualifying installations. Workmanship and manufacturer warranties are two different things, so ask for both in writing and check what voids each one, particularly later work by other trades on the roof.
Which address is the current one?
The current listed address on both the BBB record and CertainTeed's directory is 1285 N Main Street, Suite 201, Mansfield, TX 76063, phone (817) 480-9293. Some third party listings such as Yelp still show an older address on S Scott Street in Burleson. Use the Mansfield address and phone number when contacting the company.
