Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0420 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Last summer, we were hit overnight by a major hailstorm that caused significant damage to our property. The next morning, friends recommended we contact All Star, and we’re so glad we did. Their sales rep, Ty, showed up quickly, and from that point on, he helped turn a stressful situation into a smooth process. Ty went above and beyond—carefully evaluating the roof damage, speaking directly with the insurance adjusters, providing updated recommendations for improving our current roof efficiency, and walking us through the paperwork and what to expect each step of the way. He was always available to answer our questions and truly helped ease a lot of the stress. When it came time for our roof to be replaced, the roofing team was fantastic. They were efficient, respectful of our property, and worked hard to complete the job in just one day. Myndie from the office staff was also incredibly helpful, especially when it came to coordinating with our insurance company to finalize everything. The entire experience felt organized and straightforward. Of course, no one wants to deal with hailstorms—but it’s reassuring to know we can rely on All Star to help get things back to normal.

Ive used them for two storm damage claims now. They have been dependable, quick, and made replacing my roof from the June hail storm a seamless process. No runaround - no delays, just solid work. Every team member I have dealt with was professional, responsive and super easy to work with. If you’re looking for a roofing company that shows up and delivers, this is it. S/o to Ty Sellars, Shelby, and Myndi for their outstanding service!

Rodney and Ty were excellent to deal with. My roof looks great, his guys were fast, cleaned up after they left. Ty helped me every step of the way to make this (my first roof replacement and first insurance claim) easy and painless as possible. Besides how nice my new roof is, my home insurance went down by almost 50% due to the new roof. Really appreciate All Star and the guys there. Great folks. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!

Just want to give a shoutout to Ty for helping me along the journey of getting a new roof. He made sure I understood everything and went over everything throughly. He was so nice to work with and the roofing crew did a wonderful job. They came back a couple of times to make sure everything was taken care of and did a great job on the cleanup. I would highly recommend All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing for all your roofing needs!!

Frequently asked

Is All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing licensed to work in Texas?
Texas does not issue a statewide roofing license, so there is no state license number to check. All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing carries RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL), which is a separately earned designation. Homeowners should still ask to see current proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance before signing a contract.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT Member means a company pays association dues. RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL, RRL, or CRL) is a separate, higher credential earned individually. All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing holds the Licensed credential under Rodney Lewis, not just plain membership.
Does All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing install impact resistant Class 4 shingles for hail protection?
The company installs asphalt shingle roofing. Homeowners in the Texas Panhandle's hail prone climate should ask specifically whether Class 4 impact resistant shingle lines are available and whether their insurer offers a premium discount for them.
Does the Texas Panhandle require windstorm certification like coastal Texas?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certification through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association applies only to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties. Amarillo and Potter County are inland and are not part of the TWIA coastal program.
What roofing materials does All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing work with?
Based on its own site and GAF contractor listing, the company works with asphalt shingle, metal, and TPO (flat/low-slope) roofing systems, along with siding, windows, and seamless gutters.
Is All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing insured?
The company advertises itself as fully licensed and insured. Homeowners should still ask to see a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance before any work begins.
Does the company handle commercial roofing and metal fabrication?
Yes. All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing performs both residential and commercial work and fabricates custom sheet metal in house using CNC plasma cutting.
What permits are needed for a roof replacement in Amarillo?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting and inspection requirements are set city by city. Confirm with the City of Amarillo's permitting office, or ask the contractor to confirm, whether a permit is required for your project.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract with any Panhandle contractor?
Ask for proof of insurance, a written scope of work and material specifications, manufacturer certification if claimed such as GAF, references from recent local jobs, and clear payment and warranty terms before signing anything.
What areas does All Star Sheet Metal & Roofing serve?
The company's site lists the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico, including Amarillo, Canyon, Borger, Dumas, Pampa, Dalhart, Hereford, Lubbock, Plainview, Bushland, Canadian, Spearman, Perryton, and Clovis, Tucumcari, Portales, Roswell, and Hobbs in New Mexico.
