Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I recently got several estimates after the severe March hail storm in Abilene and 3 Kings Roofing LLC out of Plano offered one of the most reasonable bids. Kevin Rich was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through the entire process from start to finish. The crew arrived just before daybreak and worked well after sunset. They were hard-working, efficient, and paid attention to every detail. The finished look is great and they even added a trim that I didn’t have before which really improved the overall appearance of my home. I would highly recommend 3 Kings Roofing LLC to anyone needing roofing work done.

We had the absolute BEST experience with 3 Kings Roofing!! Their communication with us was truly exceptional from start to finish, and they honored everything that they promised. Cody stayed in constant communication with us, was super patient with insurance, and was responsive to all requests that I made. He followed up and made sure that we were 100% satisfied with everything. The workmanship is of the highest quality and we are very impressed. 3 Kings is awesome--I cannot recommend them highly enough!

My hail damaged roof was replaced quickly and with high quality. The crew took the time to protect my flower beds and cleaned up with no detail left undone. My sales manager was Jason Reedy, he was very well educated and thorough with explaining everything. 3 Kings was much appreciated and highly recommended.

Three Kings Roofing sets the standard for what every roofing company should be—honest, dependable, and driven by community. When the storm hit, Wyatt and Weston were there immediately—tarping our roof and windows, checking on us, and offering help without ever asking for business. While other companies came from out of town just to sell, they showed up to serve. Their professionalism and compassion never wavered, and their crew and project manager went above and beyond in every detail. The work was so exceptional that my wife and I cooked for the team to show our appreciation. Three Kings has been part of this community for over 15 years, and that consistency, integrity, and heart are exactly why I’ll always recommend them to everyone I know. They don’t just build roofs—they build trust. I strongly recommend everyone to use this company. You will thank me later.

I needed a new roof in a pinch and needed someone trustworthy. Cody with 3 Kings knocked it outta the park. He took the time to answer all my questions and walked me through the entire process. He had everything set up and completed in just a few days. His team came in and really took care of business. I love love my new roof. Thank you Cody, you’re the best!!!! If you’re looking for a new roof, Cody is your guy and 3 Kings Roofing is your company!

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no statewide roofing license. Verify a contractor's insurance coverage and check its registration status, such as RCAT membership, instead of looking for a state license.
What does 3 Kings Roofing's RCAT Member status mean?
RCAT Member means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. It is separate from RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL/RRL/CRL) credential, which is separately earned, so homeowners should confirm which designation a contractor actually holds.
Is hail a major concern for Plano homeowners?
Yes. Plano and the broader North Texas 'Hail Alley' region see frequent, sometimes severe hailstorms, which is why asking about impact-resistant Class 4 shingles is worthwhile.
Should I ask about Class 4 impact-resistant shingles?
Yes. Class 4 shingles are built to better withstand hail impact and may qualify homeowners for insurance premium discounts; ask any roofer whether they offer them.
Does the City of Plano require a roofing permit?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is set locally. Homeowners should confirm permit requirements with the City of Plano building department, or the relevant city or county for 3 Kings Roofing's other service areas, before work begins.
What should I ask before signing a contract with any roofer?
Request proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance, a written scope of work and materials list, warranty terms, and clarity on whether the company's own crew or subcontractors will perform the work.
Does 3 Kings Roofing handle insurance claims?
The company markets itself around storm and hail damage insurance restoration work and states it assists homeowners through the claims process.
What roofing materials does 3 Kings Roofing offer?
Its website shows asphalt shingles including IKO Royal Sovereign and CertainTeed products, slate roofing, and several metal panel systems (AP, CF, R, U, and corrugated panel).
Where does 3 Kings Roofing operate?
Beyond its Plano headquarters, the company lists branch locations across Texas, including Prosper, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio/Seguin, and College Station, as well as locations in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Is 3 Kings Roofing BBB accredited?
Its BBB listings are inconsistent. One BBB profile shows accreditation since 2016, while a separate profile under the LLC name shows it as not accredited. Both carry an A+ rating, so homeowners should ask the company directly for current documentation.
