About

The public brand is White Rock Roofing, and the domain roofwhiterock.com is confirmed as the company's own: BBB and the RCAT directory both list roofwhiterock.com as the website for White Rock Roofing of Dallas, and the site itself brands as White Rock Roofing throughout. BBB records the business as started in September 2019 and incorporated in November 2018, with Julio Davila and Jose Reyes as managing members. RCAT lists the company as a Member since 2022, with Jose Reyes as the contact. The company describes itself as having been started by two friends. One thing worth being straight about is the address. The company publishes 3500 Oak Lawn Ave Suite 460, Dallas 75219, which is in Uptown next to Turtle Creek, and Suite 460 in that building is the Office Evolution Turtle Creek coworking and virtual office centre. It is a business address rather than a roofing yard or warehouse, and it is not in the White Rock Lake area of east Dallas that the name suggests. Crews work across the greater Dallas area rather than out of that suite. Services cover roof replacement, repair, maintenance, installation and inspection, storm damage restoration with insurance claim help, gutter and gutter guard installation, and fascia repair. Materials are asphalt shingle and metal, and the company's product pages reference Owens Corning, IKO and Malarkey shingles. A five year labour warranty is offered on top of the manufacturer warranty. The service list published on the site reaches out across the Metroplex from Highland Park and University Park to Plano, Frisco, Rockwall, Arlington and Irving.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had a great experience with these guys. They were very quick to asses, provide a quote, and offer a game plan. They showed us what was necessary today vs. what was optional and preventative, and provided a very reasonable price. I would highly recommended them.

White Rock Roofing did an outstanding job replacing our roof after hail damage and significant granule loss. Their representative, Jose Reyes, was exceptional from the very first inspection through final completion. His honesty, professionalism, and deep knowledge of both roofing systems and the insurance process made all the difference. Jose recommended and oversaw the installation of Class 3 impact‑resistant materials, including Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration 30‑year laminate shingles, full underlayment, ice and water barriers in all valleys, and the proper starter course around the perimeter. The crew also replaced all flashing and ventilation, and they completely redid the flashing around the fireplace chimney and the electrical service entry. Every part of the job was done with precision and care. What truly stood out was Jose’s expertise with the insurance side. He knew exactly how to communicate with the insurer, what documentation they required, and what their responsibilities were. Because of his guidance, we saved significant out‑of‑pocket costs. His integrity and advocacy were evident at every step. The crew worked efficiently, stayed on schedule, kept the job site clean, and delivered a high‑quality installation. The new roof looks excellent, and the upgraded materials give us confidence in its long‑term durability. I highly recommend White Rock Roofing — and especially Jose Reyes — for anyone needing a trustworthy, skilled, and customer‑focused roofing contractor.

We had a wonderful experience with Jose and his crew! They stuccoed our house and installed a metal roof awning over a window. Communication throughout the project was excellent—they were responsive, respectful, and professional. The quality of their work was top-notch, and we’re thrilled with the results. Highly recommend!

White Rock Roofing did an excellent job replacing my roof and making sure the gutters were rehung correctly. In addition, they truly helped me out by repairing a damaged fascia at the very end of the project, which was also the end of the day. They went and bought the materials, paint and had it completed in no time. They really went above and beyond! Julio and Jose are great communicators, incredibly nice and very professional. Based on my experience, I highly recommend White Rock Roofing!

I rarely write reviews, but I recently hired Jose Reyes of White Rock Roofing to inspect and repair roof leaks and CREATE a custom chimney cap. The entire process was smooth and stress-free. Jose and his team were punctual and knowledgeable and delivered outstanding work. The roof repairs are flawless, and the custom chimney cap looks amazing and is perfect. Their pricing was below other estimates while offering greater quality of service and craftsmanship. It's refreshing to support a local business owner like Jose, who genuinely cares about his customers. I highly recommend White Rock Roofing for any roofing or chimney needs.

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing licence, and what should I check instead?
Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so no Dallas roofer holds a state roofing licence and any company claiming one is describing something else. The checks that do mean something are current general liability and workers compensation insurance confirmed directly with the insurer, RCAT standing, and City of Dallas permitting. White Rock Roofing appears in the RCAT directory as a Member since 2022.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's experience and examination requirements. White Rock Roofing is listed as a Member. The two are often blurred in marketing, so ask a contractor which of the two it actually holds.
Why does Dallas need impact resistant shingles?
Dallas sits in the part of North and Central Texas often called Hail Alley, and severe hail events here are frequent enough that most roofs are replaced because of storm damage rather than age. Class 4 shingles, the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test, take hail strikes better and most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your own carrier for the discount amount and their qualifying product list before you commit to the upgrade.
How does a Dallas hail insurance claim usually work?
You file with your carrier, an adjuster inspects and writes a scope with an actual cash value payment first, you pay your deductible, the work is completed, then the recoverable depreciation is released on proof of completion. Your contractor can meet the adjuster and point out damage, but the claim stays yours. Be wary of anyone offering to waive or absorb your deductible, which is not legal in Texas.
Should I sign an insurance assignment or a contingency agreement?
Read anything a storm season salesperson hands you before signing. Documents that assign your insurance claim or benefits to the contractor hand over control of your claim, and contingency agreements can lock you into a company before you know the settlement amount. There is no obligation to sign anything at the first visit. Get at least two written proposals for the same scope and compare them line by line.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Dallas?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so this is set locally. In the city of Dallas a roof replacement generally requires a permit through the city's development services department, and the suburbs on this company's service list each run their own process, so a Plano or Rockwall job follows that city's rules. Ask the contractor to pull the permit in its own name and to give you the closed permit record.
Asphalt shingle or metal for a Dallas house?
Architectural asphalt shingles remain the default because they are the least expensive to install and the easiest to replace after a hail claim, and Class 4 versions are widely available. Metal lasts far longer and handles wind well, but costs more up front and can dent cosmetically in a severe hail event even when it still keeps water out. If you plan to stay a long time and your neighbourhood allows it, price both.
What does a five year labour warranty actually cover?
A labour or workmanship warranty covers mistakes the crew made, such as a nail placed wrong, a flashing detail left open or a valley done incorrectly. It does not cover the shingles themselves, which is what the manufacturer warranty is for, and it does not cover storm damage, which is what your insurance is for. Ask for the warranty in writing, and ask whether it transfers if you sell the house.
How do I confirm a Dallas roofer's insurance?
Ask for the insurance agent's name and number and have the certificate sent to you directly from the agency, not handed over by the salesperson. Look for both general liability, which covers damage to your house, and workers compensation, which covers an injured worker. Texas does not require most private employers to carry workers compensation, so its absence is common and is worth knowing about before crews are on your roof.
How can I tell whether a roofing company is really local to my area?
Ask where the company's physical office or yard is and who answers the phone there, then ask for three completed jobs in your own suburb with addresses you can drive past. Many roofing firms in the Metroplex operate from shared office suites or small offices rather than a warehouse, which is not automatically a problem, but you want a company that will still be reachable in five years when the workmanship warranty matters. Check the RCAT listing and the BBB profile for the address and phone the company itself has registered.
