About

The Home Team Roofing & A/C works from 11709 Boudreaux Road, Suite 1150 in Tomball and covers Houston plus roughly a 60 mile radius, taking in Harris, Montgomery, Grimes, Waller and Fort Bend counties. BBB records the business as incorporated in February 2012 and lists Mike Martin as owner. It has been a BBB Accredited Business since August 2019 and holds an A+ rating. The office line is (832) 422-3039 and the office runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. The registered name carries both trades, and that is worth reading carefully. RCAT and the company's own paperwork use The Home Team Roofing & A/C, and BBB categorises the business under both Roofing Contractors and Air Conditioning Repair, so HVAC work is part of the registered business. The current website, however, markets roofing only: residential and commercial roof replacement and repair, hail damage inspections, metal roof coatings and gutters formed on site. Homeowners who specifically want air conditioning work should call and confirm it is still an active service line before booking, because the public marketing no longer leads with it. On the roofing side the company appears in GAF's own residential contractor directory, which is the check that matters when a contractor advertises manufacturer credentials. The website's headline figures of 45,000 plus completed projects, 400 plus five-star reviews and 30 plus years of experience are the company's own claims and are not independently verified; the 2012 incorporation date is the documented one. The company also advertises a Community Heroes discount for military, first responders and educators.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Home Team Roofing is an exceptional roofing company in Southeast Texas. Robert Creech and Chris Cantu stuck with our insurance claim through the long haul and got us a brand new, leak proof roof. They were both very professional and easy to get along with and talk to. They provided help for us in a complicated insurance scenario. The crew started and finished our roof in one day, covered everything in our yard, and did a thorough cleanup when they were finished. The new roof looks fantastic. The shingle color is Glacier, by the way. You can see in the picture. I will recommend these guys to anyone needing a new roof.

I had a wonderful experience with Home Team Roofing. Mike Martin and Tommy Hill were professional, helpful, and informative. I never felt pressured to purchase or make a quick decision, and they were patient with my many questions. Once I approved the job, Tommy’s communication was on point, and I was informed every step of the way. The crew worked diligently, and they checked everything around my house to make sure nothing was disconnected or shaken loose. The clean-up was like they were never there. The next day, Tommy did a walk-around and triple-checked the attic and all connections. I highly recommend Home Team for your roofing needs. Thank you, Mike and Tommy!

These guys at at Hometeam Roofing are more than 5 ⭐️! They go above and beyond for their customers. Chris stayed in constant contact with me, took care of all the detailed paperwork, and answered any and all questions I had. Very friendly, personable, and professional! The job was completed in 1 day (removed, replaced and clean up) my roof looks amazing and I couldn’t be happier. I have already referred them to my best friend. I would choose these guys over and over again any day of the week!

It was a pleasure working with Jonah Cote and The Home Team Roofing Company. Jonah was there every step of the way to ensure that the job was done professionally, in a timely manner, with attention paid to all the details. I especially like that the roof will be very durable for a long time, the property was thoroughly cleaned up after the job, and how well the shingle color looks with the brick on the house. It is a major upgrade for my home, but the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Jonah Cote and The Home Team Roofing Company.

I had an absolutely great experience with this one amazing roofer. Kolten Mueller in Central Texas was absolutely amazing! Kolten walked me through the whole process and even helped me get insurance approved and working on my roof in no time. From the day Kolten checked my roof to the workers getting the roof completed was exactly 2 weeks. Kolten worked quickly and was just the absolute best person for the job. Thanks for such a great and hardworking person. I hope Kolten's supervisor sees and give him a big shout out!

Frequently asked

Does this company still do air conditioning work, or only roofing?
The registered name is The Home Team Roofing & A/C and BBB lists the business under both Roofing Contractors and Air Conditioning Repair, so HVAC is part of the registered business. The current website markets roofing and gutters only. If you need air conditioning work, call (832) 422-3039 and confirm the service line is active before you schedule.
How old is the company really?
BBB records a date of incorporation of 2 February 2012 and about 14 years in business. The website's 30 plus years figure refers to accumulated team experience rather than the age of this business entity, so use 2012 as the documented start date.
Texas has no state roofing license, so how do I check a Tomball roofer?
Correct, there is no Texas state roofing license and no state exam to pass. Verify the certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance directly with the insurance agent, check the RCAT record, confirm any manufacturer certification on the manufacturer's own website, and ask who pulls the permit in your city.
What does GAF certification actually mean?
GAF runs a tiered contractor program and only lists credentialed contractors in its directory. This company appears in GAF's own residential contractor directory for Tomball. Ask which GAF warranty tier your specific roof will qualify for and get it in writing, because the enhanced system warranties depend on which GAF components are installed, not on the badge alone.
What is RCAT Member status and is it the same as being licensed?
No, and the difference matters. RCAT Member means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and appears on its register. RCAT separately runs a Licensed Roofing Contractor credential with a tested license number. This company is listed as a Member, not as a credential holder.
Is hail a real risk in Tomball and northwest Harris County?
Yes. The heaviest Texas hail runs through the Dallas Fort Worth and Central Texas corridor, but northwest Harris and Montgomery counties still take damaging hail and severe thunderstorm wind. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are widely available and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them, so ask for a Class 4 line on your replacement quote.
Does Tomball need a permit for a roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is decided city by city and by the county for unincorporated areas. Tomball, unincorporated Harris County, Montgomery County and the other jurisdictions in this service area each set their own rules. Ask the contractor to name the permitting authority for your address and to pull the permit in its own name.
Is Tomball in the WPI-8 windstorm certification area?
No. WPI-8 certificates apply to the 14 first-tier Gulf Coast counties in the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association territory, plus the part of Harris County east of Highway 146. Tomball is well inland of that line, so windstorm certification does not apply to roofs there.
What is the advantage of gutters formed on site?
Seamless gutter is rolled from a coil at the job so a run can be made in one continuous piece rather than joined from stock lengths. Fewer seams means fewer places to leak or separate later. This company forms gutter on site as part of its service.
What should I get in writing before signing a Houston-area roofing contract?
A scope that names the shingle line and colour, the underlayment, ice and water or valley protection, the ventilation plan, the flashing to be replaced and the per-sheet price for decking replacement. Then the workmanship warranty in years, the manufacturer warranty tier, who pulls the permit, and the payment schedule. Do not pay in full before the final inspection.
