Texas State Roofing Company
About
Texas State Roofing Company works out of 901 S. Staples Street in Corpus Christi and publishes a second office at 801 Broadway Boulevard in Portland, Texas. The RCAT directory records the company as established 1 July 2015, and its Better Business Bureau file shows accreditation since 2012 with an A+ rating. Charles "Chuck" Giffin is the named principal, and the company describes itself as locally owned and family managed. The work described on the company's own site spans residential and commercial roof replacement, leak repair, roof inspections, commercial maintenance programmes, gutters, solar roofing and insurance loss claims. Project write-ups name GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, Owens Corning systems and Polyglass modified bitumen for low-slope roofs. GAF's own contractor locator lists the company at Master Elite level with a President's Club award, and Owens Corning's own directory lists it as a Platinum Preferred contractor, so both manufacturer credentials check out at source. Nueces County is one of the fourteen first-tier coastal counties covered by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, so windstorm documentation genuinely matters here. The company publishes a windstorm certification page stating that it guides customers through the WPI process and works with local engineering firms on the technical inspections and documentation. Homeowners should understand the division of roles. The roofer builds and documents the roof to the windstorm standard. The WPI-8 certificate of compliance itself is issued by the Texas Department of Insurance, or the equivalent evidence is produced by a licensed Texas professional engineer. A roofing contractor cannot issue it.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0200 or the company name.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Greg with the Texas State Roofing Company was great from start to finish. He had a game plan for our restaurant’s new roof. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in their product. Was very thorough throughout the job and was onsite from start to finish. Updated me daily on how the project was going and if we needed to correct something. I would highly recommend this company for our future roof replacements and repairs. Greg was great to work with and would recommend their company to anyone.
They were very professional, did an outstanding job! Since I had my home and separate large shop to do, and completed in less than 2 day, completely stripped and all new roofing installed and it looks amazing! Love the color and the texture I have recommended them to others in need of roof repairs!
My realtor recommended I get a cheaper roof through someone else, but the “License” numbers on that business man’s truck actually turned out to be city permit numbers. I was impressed that TX State Roofing Company, however, is one of only a tiny number of companies I found in Corpus Christi (through the RCAT website,) who serve residential customers & voluntarily maintain a license to install roofs through RCAT. Unfortunately, Texas does not require Roofing contractors to have a license. … This company has excellent references & has been in business long enough that I’m not worried about them closing up shop & not being around, if my home sustains roof damage & I need to call them regarding my roof warranty’s coverage. … The 1st thing I noted about this company is their outstanding customer service. The lady I spoke with1st when I called about my leaking roof & need for temporary sealants, immediately relayed my need to a project manager who was in the office - Ruben. He, unlike people at other companies, was willing to come out as soon as he had time to do so that day. He reviewed all options available for an asphalt shingle roof at my request, answered all of my questions, & offered me quotes on different options so I could choose the best options for my family. He not only has excellent customer service skills, but I could tell he & his managers (Jac & David - who I met later,) want to do right by their customers. Ruben was not a pushy salesman. Unlike another company I called, he did not refuse to come out the same day or refuse to have seals put on my roof unless I signed a contract for a new roof. He had seals put over the holes in my roof the same day I called. He said I would receive a credit equal to the fee for the temporary seals if I did decide to buy a new roof from his company. Price wise, TX State Roofing offered the least expensive roof out of the 3 RCAT licensed companies I called for new roof estimates, but not by much. Cheaper is not always better, and I carefully vetted the 3 companies. TX State Roofing stood out for customer service, their hand nailing of shingles to prevent over penetration by, or displacement of, nails. They also have many great references. I ended up not only having them install a new roof, but they removed, replaced and painted Sheetrock to repair water damages to my home & installed a new exhaust fan to our master bathroom. I highly recommend TX State Roofing for their excellent customer service and workmanship, and their use of quality products.
Texas Roofing Company provided excellent customer service. Trae was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different options available for our home roof replacement project. The crew that performed the work were all hard working and professional. They removed the roof, installed the new roof and cleaned the yard and surrounding areas. The gutter installer was great as well. I highly recommend Texas State Roofing Company. Trae and David are great people to work with.
Awesome roofing company! Jac was great at communicating and delivered what he promised!! I definitely would work with them again and I strongly recommend!! I didn’t have to worry about anything!! Price to replace the hail damaged roof was lower than the insurance estimate which was fantastic!
