About

Ark Roofer is a residential and commercial roofing company headquartered at 3555 W. State Hwy 29 in Georgetown, Texas. It was founded on October 7, 2018 by third-generation contractor Luke Secora, who started the business from home with one employee before moving into the current Georgetown office in 2021. The company has since grown to more than 25 employees and serves the greater Austin area, including Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Lampasas, Leander, Liberty Hill, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. In addition to roof installation and repair, Ark Roofer offers siding, gutters, exterior painting, skylight installation and repair, attic ventilation work, trim and fascia, and insurance claim assistance. The company is an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor and has received the Owens Corning Product Excellence Award in both 2024 and 2025. Ark Roofer has been BBB accredited with an A+ rating since October 2019. The company's principal, Luke Secora, holds RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential (#03-0484), consistent with the input status of Licensed rather than plain RCAT Membership.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0484 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Cannot say enough good things about my experience with Ark. We had a small leak coming through our ceiling, and we tapped Ark to come help us diagnose the issue. They were able to come out the very next day after we called them. They arrived on time, were super clean and respectful, and quickly narrowed in on the most likely culprit after an attic inspection. They were able to turn around the repair the same day (minor repairs needed to the "boot" around a vent pipe). This is about as good as it gets. Major shout out to Ark for running such a well-oiled operation, and thank you very much to Brian E, our technician, who helped us along the way. Highly recommended, and will absolutely use them again in the future.

I had a fantastic experience working with The Ark Roofer, and especially with my main contact, Jeff Whitt. From the very beginning, Jeff earned my trust — he evaluated my roof quickly and then continued to follow up with me for several years (at my request) never pushing me to file a claim until there was truly enough damage. That honesty and patience is rare, and it immediately set them apart. When it finally came time to file, Jeff guided me through the insurance process with clear explanations and great communication. He made every step understandable, answered all my questions, and was patient as I chose shingle color and scheduled the repair date. As a homeowner, it was reassuring to have someone who not only knew the process inside and out but genuinely cared about making things smooth and stress-free. The actual work exceeded every expectation. The Ark Roofer replaced the roofs on my main house, guest house, and well house all in one day — efficiently and with excellent workmanship. Their crew took great care of my property, protected everything around the home. Cleanup was thorough, and they left everything exactly as they found it. They also sent photos and drone footage of each stage of the repair so I could see the progress and know the work was being done correctly and with quality materials. Between the honesty up front, the help with insurance, the clear communication, the property protection, and the fast, high-quality work, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Jeff Whitt and The Ark Roofer to any homeowner who wants a trustworthy, professional, and truly customer-focused roofing company.

Pete was super communicative and sensitive to our needs based on some timelines we got from our insurance company for getting our soffit repaired. He got the job done and was flexible to ensure we got it done well before our deadline. There is another part of the job that requires discussion with a separate team that handles warranties but he's been great at passing along the necessary info and made sure we knew we could reach out if we hadn't heard back.

I had a great experience with Jeff and the Ark team over 1-2 years of work. They helped me understand the insurance claim on our hail damaged roof and walked me step by step through the process in a clear and helpful way. They got the work done efficiently and on budget. And then later on, when we needed to do some small additional work on the roof after selling the house, they came out and did the work for free. Jeff is great to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for roof work.

I’ve had Ark perform multiple inspections for me and each time was a positive and educational experience. I appreciate all of the pictures they provide and them discussing the details at length. Most recently Aimee performed an inspection and then promptly came out again to inspect a Pipe Jack that was damaged by other work being done on the house, resulting in a leak during a heavy storm. Aimee was able to provide a solution to my leak which brought me peace of mind and provided me space to make a decision on how to proceed with a longer term fix. I would certainly consider Ark again should I have other repairs or need a new roof.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors, and is Ark Roofer state-licensed?
Texas has no statewide roofing license, so there is no state license number to verify. Ark Roofer's principal, Luke Secora, holds the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential, which is a separately earned designation from the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, not a government license.
What's the difference between RCAT Membership and RCAT Licensed status?
RCAT Membership just means a company pays dues to join the association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential is earned separately and generally involves testing. Ark Roofer's listed status is Licensed, so it is worth confirming which credential any contractor actually holds before hiring.
How common is hail damage in the Georgetown and greater Austin area?
Central Texas sits within the broader hail-prone corridor of the state, and hailstorms are a regular cause of roof damage in Williamson County. Homeowners should have a roof inspected after any significant hailstorm, even if damage isn't visible from the ground.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth installing in Georgetown?
Class 4 shingles are built to better withstand hail impact than standard shingles, and many Texas insurance carriers offer a premium discount for installing them. It's a reasonable question to ask any roofer serving a hail-prone area like Georgetown.
Does Georgetown or Williamson County require a roofing permit?
Permitting is handled locally rather than by the state, so requirements can differ between the City of Georgetown and unincorporated Williamson County. Homeowners should confirm permit requirements with their local building department before work starts.
How do I confirm a roofer is properly insured before signing a contract?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and verify it directly with the insurance carrier rather than relying only on a printed copy.
What does an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor designation mean?
It's a manufacturer-awarded status indicating the contractor meets Owens Corning's requirements for training, sales volume, and customer satisfaction, and it can qualify homeowners for enhanced manufacturer warranty coverage on Owens Corning products.
What should be in a written roofing contract?
A contract should spell out the scope of work, materials and manufacturer, total price and payment schedule, project timeline, and both the material warranty and the contractor's workmanship warranty.
Will my homeowners insurance cover hail damage to my roof?
Most Texas homeowners policies cover hail and wind damage, though deductibles and claim requirements vary by insurer. It's wise to get an independent roof inspection before accepting an insurance adjuster's assessment.
What should I ask before hiring a Central Texas roofer?
Ask about RCAT status (Member or Licensed), insurance coverage, manufacturer certifications, warranty terms, and whether they are familiar with local Georgetown or Williamson County permitting requirements.
