About

This is the Central Texas registration for Steele Roofing, listed at 1104 South Mays Street, Suite 201-A, Round Rock, Texas 78664, with its own local telephone number on 512. It is the same ownership as the company's East Texas operation, and third party listings describe the Round Rock presence as an expansion that began in 2021 covering Round Rock, Pflugerville, Austin and the surrounding Williamson and Travis county area. What can be confirmed for Round Rock specifically is thin. There is a separate association record at the Round Rock address, a listing with the Central Texas Roofing Contractors Association, a Round Rock entry on Yelp, and a small handful of Central Texas reviews. What is missing is the material a fully staffed branch normally leaves behind. The company's own website carries no Round Rock content at all: the page the registration points to renders as a Tyler page, headed Roofing Contractor in Tyler, Texas, with East Texas copy and the East Texas telephone number in the footer, and the site's service area list runs only to East Texas towns. There is a single Better Business Bureau profile for the business and it is filed at the East Texas address, not Round Rock. Suite 201-A sits inside the Round Rock Executive Building, a small multi tenant office building whose available suites run from roughly 260 to 470 square feet and whose amenities are a shared conference room, a shared kitchen and shared Wi-Fi, so it is an office suite rather than a roofing yard. On the evidence available, treat this as a genuine, separately registered Central Texas address with its own local number, but not as a demonstrably staffed branch office. Homeowners in Williamson and Travis counties should ask, before booking, who will actually be on the roof, where the crew travels from, and how a warranty callback would be handled.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration Not checked for Round RockTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0455 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Great roofing company! Very knowledgeable with a “can do” attitude. Always on time. Handled insurance company with any questions or issues. They changed out the roof. Took care of gutters. Also handled our patio awning that had hail damage. Most importantly they are honest folks to deal with.

Steele Roofing has been fantastic to work with! They kept us in the loop and informed about insurance and weather. The crew was great to work with and did a wonderful job! They also did a great job with cleanup. Highly recommend working with them for all roofing needs.

I reached out to Steele Roofing for a minor repair after some shingles delaminated and blew off. Knowing they are one of the top RCAT-licensed companies in the Tyler area, I expected good service, but I was blown away when they came out the exact same day I called! Carter arrived promptly, was incredibly helpful, and completed the repairs quickly. He even performed a thorough, full-roof inspection while onsite. I will absolutely use them for any future roofing needs and highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I had some wind damage from the storms 2 weeks ago. After contacting Steele, a young man named Carter was sent out to estimate the needed repairs. This man is a tremendous ambassador for Steele. Not only did the repairs, but sat down with me, showed me several items on my roof that he saw outside of what he had first noted in the inspection, and made the corrections on the spot. No charge, just exemplary service to the customer. I had questions, he had honest answers. He is one you can trust to not only do the job assigned, but to have those eyes open and alert to spot other deficiencies and get them addressed, too. That's how you get lifetime customers right there, and because of Carter, Steele has a new one on their hands. They saw what this young man was all about and gave him a chance to shine and help continue to grow the reputation of Steele Roofing as a reputable, and customer-focused company. Great job all of the way. In about 8-10 years, Steele will be pulling this roof off and replacing it in full, simply because of this fantastic experience. It's a dying practice, folks, and you all know it. You can be rest assured that Steele Roofing is at the top of their craft, and other roofers might as well fold up shop and call it a day. Thank you so much, Carter, Natalie, and the team at Steele Roofing.

We had an excellent experience with Steele Roofing from start to finish. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the process. They took the time to explain our options, answered all of our questions, and kept us informed every step of the way. The installation of our new roof was completed on schedule, and the workmanship was outstanding. The crew was punctual, respectful of our property, and did a thorough cleanup once the job was finished. The quality of the materials and attention to detail truly stand out. It’s clear that Steele Roofing takes pride in their work and customer satisfaction. Our new roof looks fantastic, and we feel confident knowing it was done right. We highly recommend Steele Roofing to anyone needing a reliable, honest, and professional roofing company.

Frequently asked

Is this a staffed Round Rock office or a service area listing?
It is somewhere in between and worth asking about directly. There is a real Round Rock suite address and a local 512 number, but the suite sits in a small shared executive office building, the company's website carries no Round Rock content, and there is only one Better Business Bureau profile and it is filed at the company's East Texas address.
Who actually owns this branch?
It is the same ownership as the company's East Texas operation. The Round Rock registration is a second entry for the same business rather than a separate franchise or a different company with a similar name.
What should I ask before booking a roofer whose branch office is new to the area?
Ask where the crew travels from, whether the crew is employed or subcontracted, who inspects the finished job, how quickly someone can get to you for a warranty callback, and whether the local number rings a local person or forwards elsewhere.
Does Texas issue a state roofing licence?
No. There is no state roofing licence in Texas. Check current general liability and workers compensation insurance direct from the insurer, plus any manufacturer certification on the manufacturer's own directory, rather than looking for a state licence number.
What is the difference between RCAT membership and an RCAT licence?
Membership of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas means dues are paid and the company is listed. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through examination and continuing education. The two are not interchangeable.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Round Rock?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so it is set locally. The City of Round Rock normally requires a roofing permit and an inspection, and neighbouring Pflugerville and Austin have their own rules. Confirm the contractor is pulling the permit in their own name.
Is hail a real risk in Williamson County?
Yes. Central Texas along the Interstate 35 corridor takes regular spring hail and high wind, and a large share of roof replacements in Round Rock and Pflugerville follow a storm rather than simple age.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Central Texas?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test and holds up better to hail. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, so ask your carrier what that discount is worth before comparing it against the extra material cost.
Can a contractor cover my deductible on a Central Texas hail claim?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing your insurance deductible. Treat any such offer as a warning sign.
What belongs in the contract before I sign?
The shingle or membrane brand, line and colour, the underlayment, the ventilation plan, decking replacement pricing per sheet, who pulls the Round Rock permit, the cleanup including a magnet sweep, the payment schedule, and the manufacturer warranty tier alongside the workmanship warranty length.
