About

StazOn Roofing is a family owned Dallas roofing contractor working out of 2860 Lombardy Lane in northwest Dallas. The company has been operating since 1980 and covers residential, multi family and commercial work across the Dallas and Fort Worth area, including Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, McKinney, Mansfield, Keller, Rockwall, Rowlett, Fort Worth and Arlington. Its strongest verifiable credential is GAF Master Elite. GAF's own contractor directory lists StazOn Roofing Inc at the Lombardy Lane address and shows Master Elite status held since 2005. GAF limits that programme to a small share of roofers in North America and it is the qualification that lets a contractor offer GAF's extended system warranties, so it is worth asking which warranty tier is being quoted. The company is also a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 1996. On its own site it further states that it is a GAF Master Commercial Roofing Contractor and a GAF Certified Green Roofer, and that it belongs to the NRCA, the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association and the Metal Roofing Alliance, and is an Energy Star partner. Those additional items are stated by the company and were not separately confirmed. The work mix is unusually broad for a residential roofer. Alongside composition shingle replacement and repair, StazOn does standing seam and corrugated metal, custom architectural sheet metal, clay and concrete tile, DECRA stone coated steel, TPO and other low slope membranes, roof coatings, solar shingles and roof maintenance. Dallas sits in the Texas hail corridor, so storm damage evaluation and impact resistant shingle options are a routine part of what they quote.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

With a personal experience of over 35 years in construction in home building and remodeling in north Texas, Stazon Roofing has always been a great subcontractor to work with. Efficient, consistent and complete, I’ve always had a really good experience. Originally, years ago Paul was my go to and currently Matt carries that torch. I can’t recommend them enough.

We've worked with StazOn for nearly a decade between this house and our last house. They are always super professional, organized, and friendly. We decided to splurge and put a standing-seam metal roof on our mid-century-inspired house and I couldn't be more happy with the results. All of the pieces were custom-fabricated and the installation was smooth, clean, and executed with care. I highly recommend working with StazOn.

Paul, Mike, Oscar and the entire StazOn roofing team did a terrific job tearing off the leaking modified bitumen on our flat roof, replacing lots of damaged decking, and installing 80 mil TPO with an intricate copper drip edge. I'm super particular about quality and appearance, and we had several points during the process where we had to stop, scratch our heads, and figure out a solution. They exhibited lots of creativity from start to finish, and everyone stayed committed to getting the job done on time and to my satisfaction. I would definitely use Stazon again, and I highly recommend their services to others.

Extremely unreliable unprofessional and roof. Whatever was done still needs a proper repair. Would never go back to this company ( Rob!! ) and will never recommend to Anybody. Simply stay away and go with company that you can rely on.

Excellent company. Professional and knowledgeable. StazOn Roofing really takes care of business. Most impressed with the rapid response for change orders/add ons. They crank out custom metal anything we used lots of flashings / door pans / chimney cap / etc… way beyond the roof. Best looking gutter job I have ever seen… same high quality material as roof. The roof just a work of art. Paul and Justin deliver high quality work and care about the customer. I don’t often recommend however these guys are a top notch organization so one must. Thanks You!!!! - Jarrod

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence at all. The things worth checking here are current liability and workers compensation insurance, manufacturer certifications you can verify on the manufacturer's own site, and any city registration your municipality requires.
What does GAF Master Elite mean in practice?
It is GAF's top residential contractor tier and only a small percentage of roofers in North America hold it. The practical benefit is access to GAF's longest system warranties, including the Golden Pledge. Always confirm a contractor's status on GAF's own directory rather than taking a logo on a website at face value.
Is StazOn's Master Elite status independently verifiable?
Yes. GAF's contractor directory lists StazOn Roofing Inc at 2860 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, and shows Master Elite status held since 2005.
What is the difference between RCAT membership and an RCAT licence?
Roofing Contractors Association of Texas membership means a company pays dues and is listed in the directory. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and continuing education. A member is not automatically licensed by RCAT.
Why does hail dominate roofing in Dallas?
Dallas sits in the North Texas hail corridor. Most full roof replacements in the metroplex follow a hail or high wind event, so storm damage inspections and insurance claim work are a normal part of a Dallas roofer's year.
Should I pay extra for Class 4 impact resistant shingles?
Class 4 is the top result in the UL 2218 impact test. On a Dallas roof they hold up better to hail bruising and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what the discount is worth over ten years before deciding.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Dallas?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so it varies by city. The City of Dallas and most metroplex suburbs require a roofing permit and an inspection. Confirm the contractor is pulling it in their name and not asking you to pull it yourself.
What roofing systems suit a flat or low slope commercial roof here?
TPO single ply, modified bitumen and fluid applied coatings are the common choices in North Texas. The right one depends on the deck, the existing layers, drainage and how much foot traffic the roof gets, so ask for the reasoning behind the recommendation.
Can a roofer cover my insurance deductible?
No. Under Texas law a contractor may not pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible, and offering to do so is a red flag. Expect to pay your deductible.
What should be written into the contract before I sign?
The shingle or membrane brand, line and colour, the underlayment, the ventilation plan, decking replacement pricing per sheet, who pulls the permit, the cleanup and magnet sweep, the payment schedule, and both the manufacturer warranty tier and the workmanship warranty length.
