About

Price Roofing Co. has served Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle since 1978. Founder Cecil Price is still involved in the business, working alongside managing partner Charlie Clark and partner and sales manager Cody Holloway. The office is at 15371 FM 2590 in southwest Amarillo, which sits in Randall County. The company handles both residential and commercial work. Residential services include forensic roof evaluations, repair and full replacement, leak detection and waterproofing, preventative maintenance, roof ventilation and gutter installation and repair. Commercial services include repairs, replacements, retrofit systems, maintenance plans, storm damage inspections and code compliance reviews, with TPO membrane and metal among the systems named and No Dollar Limit manufacturer warranties available. The company guides homeowners through insurance claims and publishes a seven year workmanship warranty alongside manufacturer warranties from GAF and CertainTeed. Price Roofing is listed in the RCAT directory under Cecil Price, CRRL, with commercial and residential roofing license number 03-0274. That is RCAT's own separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, not a state license, since Texas does not license roofers. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0274 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Price roofing just finished with my house and it was a great experience. Marcos was a huge help negotiating with our insurance and getting us the claim we deserved. Marcos was quick to respond and always available. Our roof and large shed in the backyard were done in one day and it all looks great! Could not recommend enough.

Price roofing has done my roof twice in three years due to the weather and they done a great job both times. They have gone out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and that our insurance company was being fair to us. Would definitely not hesitate to use them again.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, so there is no state-issued number to verify. What you can verify is insurance, RCAT status, city or county registration where required, and complaint history. Always ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurer.
What does 'RCAT Licensed' mean, and how is it different from RCAT membership?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Most companies in its directory are simply members, meaning they pay dues. A smaller group holds RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires testing and documented experience. Price Roofing is listed under Cecil Price, CRRL, with license number 03-0274. It is an industry credential from the association, not a government license.
Is Amarillo a hail area?
Yes. The Texas Panhandle takes regular hail and high wind, and hail is one of the leading reasons roofs are replaced here. Bruising is often invisible from the ground, so book an inspection with photo documentation after a serious storm rather than waiting for a leak.
Should I upgrade to Class 4 impact-resistant shingles?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and holds up to hail far better than standard shingles. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Weigh the extra material cost against the discount your own insurer will actually give you, and consider attic insulation and resale value as well.
Which county is Price Roofing in?
The office at 15371 FM 2590 is in southwest Amarillo in Randall County. Amarillo spans both Potter and Randall counties, which matters for permits and appraisal district records, so confirm which county your own property falls in.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Amarillo?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is set locally. Check with the City of Amarillo building department, or the county if the property is outside city limits, and confirm in writing who pulls and pays for the permit.
Can a roofer pay my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing a homeowner's insurance deductible. An offer to do so is a red flag and can carry criminal penalties for the contractor.
What warranties should I expect?
There are two separate things. The manufacturer warranty covers material defects and comes from the shingle or membrane maker. The workmanship warranty covers installation and comes from the contractor. Price Roofing publishes a seven year workmanship warranty and works with manufacturers including GAF and CertainTeed on defect claims. Get both in writing with their terms and durations.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential replacements under about 35 squares are finished in a single day. Larger roofs, steeper pitches, complex detailing and weather delays extend that. Ask for the expected schedule and the plan for protecting landscaping and cleaning up nails before work starts.
What should a proper roof evaluation include?
Photo documentation of both the damaged areas and the areas in good condition, a plain-language explanation of what was found, and an assessment of ventilation, flashing and overall roof integrity. If a report only shows damage and no context, ask for the rest before agreeing to anything.
