Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0397 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Writing this review on behalf of my Aunt -Pat Lowe in Arlington, Tx. Mike made 2 separate trips to Arlington, Tx to fix a leak on my elderly Aunts house. Didn’t charge her very much at all. Came out on a Sunday to make sure she was taken care of before the next storm. Thank you Mike Eyman, you’re a good dude! 🙏

These guys are PHENOMENAL!!!! As soon as I mentioned the roof was leaking Mike and crew got right up there. It's 39 degrees, raining and windy. And without hesitation they are repairing our roof. Professional, knowledgeable and eager to get the job done. They immediately eliminated any further damage. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Our chimney had blown over during the crazy storm we had March 2nd. Mike was over to cover the hole created to help minimize water damage to the inside. It could have been a lot worse, if they couldn't come out. Took a few weeks to replace the chimney, due to all the rain we had. The tarp they put down held up to plenty of rain and wind. But we now know the chimney will not be falling over again. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

Frequently asked

Is Nimble Restoration Services licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in Texas holds one. The credentials that do exist are insurance, RCAT status, BBB standing and city registration. Nimble is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating and holds the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Membership is a paid association status. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is earned separately through experience and testing. Nimble is listed as Licensed, which is the higher of the two and the one that actually reflects tested competence.
How long has the company been in business?
The BBB record shows the business founded on 13 January 2017 and incorporated on 4 January 2019, and BBB accreditation since August 2020. The company's own site describes over a decade of team experience, which refers to the people rather than the entity.
Does Nimble handle hail insurance claims?
The company's core positioning is storm restoration for wind, hail and rain damage, and it advertises 24/7 emergency response. Ask specifically whether a representative will meet your adjuster on the roof, and get in writing what happens if the carrier's scope is lower than the contractor's estimate.
Should I pay for Class 4 impact resistant shingles in McKinney?
Collin County sits in the part of North Texas that gets the most damaging hail, so a Class 4 shingle (the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test) is usually worth pricing. Most Texas carriers give a premium discount for one. Nimble says it installs impact resistant shingles, so ask for the exact product line and its rating in writing.
Do they do interior repairs after a roof leak?
Yes. Unlike a roofing only contractor, Nimble also lists water damage mitigation, fire and water restoration and microbial growth remediation, so drying, demo and interior rebuild can be handled by the same company that fixes the roof. It describes itself as IICRC certified for that restoration work.
Does McKinney require a permit to replace a roof?
Texas has no statewide building code, so this is set city by city. McKinney and most Collin County cities require a permit for a full tear off and replacement. Ask who pulls the permit and confirm it is in the contractor's name, not yours.
Which phone number and website are current?
The company's live site is nimblerestorationservices.com and lists 1 (833) NIMBLE-1, which is (833) 646-2531, with email office@nimblerestoration.com. The BBB profile lists a local McKinney line, (214) 856-4030, and an older website address. Either number should reach the same McKinney office at 330 Industrial Blvd.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly by the agent, a written scope naming shingle brand, product line, impact rating, underlayment, ventilation and flashing, the workmanship warranty in years, and confirmation that the manufacturer warranty will be registered. Never accept an offer to waive or absorb your deductible.
Does WPI-8 or windstorm certification apply here?
No. WPI-8 windstorm inspection applies to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. McKinney and Collin County are inland, so windstorm certification is not part of a roof replacement here. Hail is the risk that drives roofing decisions in this market.
