About

DFW Roofing Pro, LLC is a family owned roofing and general contracting company headquartered at 7300 State Highway 121 in McKinney, Collin County, with a second North Texas office in Fort Worth. On the residential side the core work is asphalt shingle repair, replacement and new installation, plus metal roofing including Decra stone coated steel profiles that imitate shingle, shake, tile or slate. Commercially the company installs TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal and hot mopped systems. It advertises storm and hail damage work with in house insurance supplementers, drone roof inspections and a lifetime workmanship warranty, all of which are claims stated by the company. The Better Business Bureau shows DFW Roofing Pro as an accredited business with an A+ rating, accredited since 12 June 2017, and records the business as having started on 28 October 2016. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Roofs are easily one of the Top 5 most important components of any home. As a licensed REALTOR®, I see firsthand how critical a quality roof is in every real estate transaction. That’s why I unreservedly trust DFW Roofers with my clients. Their inspections are top-notch—combining the latest technology with a personal touch that gives buyers and sellers the confidence to make informed decisions. They’ve also handled full roof replacements for some of my clients, who were blown away by the service and the elevated curb appeal that came with it. If you need a roofing partner who delivers professionalism, precision, and peace of mind—DFW Roofers is it.

I just purchased a townhome and some things came up on the inspection that I wanted to get a roofer to come and take a look at. Turns out there was some leakage and some light coming through in some areas. Travis was able to quickly inspect and correct all the issues for me at a reasonable price. He was also very responsive and polite with no pushy salesman tactics, which was refreshing given how I have to deal with 2-3 of those types for every repair, I feel like. When my roof is ready to be replaced (hopefully that's not too soon), I know who I will!

I was in search of a contractor for repairs to my home after a hailstorm. DFW Roofers was recommended to me by a friend. From my first conversation with Ken, I knew I had made the right decision, choosing him as my contractor. He made the process easy, he kept me updated on the entire process, and he was very patient. I had a family emergency, and Ken was empathetic and kind and told me to contact him when I was ready to proceed. The entire process was pressure-free. DFW Roofers replaced my roof, gutters, downspouts, soffit, and siding and painted them. The work is absolutely beautiful. They were very professional and cleaned up my yard after the work was completed. I could not tell they were there because my yard was spotless. I highly recommend DFW Roofers to anyone who is in need of an honest, reliable, and ethical contractor.

After others failed to trace the source of the leak we had, Ken went through the attic, took photos and inspected around the house to successfully locate the problem. He and his professional team came by soon afterward to repair the problem at a very reasonable cost. If you have any roof concerns or repairs needed DFW Roofing is highly recommended!

Ken @ DFW Roofers was an incredible person to work with. He was honest with his quoting process and discussion options to improve the air flow through my attic. After the initial quote for the roof repair from a hail storm he worked tirelessly with my insurance company to get them to budge. Though out the time while we waited for the insurance to respond he kept in touch. Once the team arrived the process was seamless. Ken kept us aware of the progress, and the team was very professional and kept the work area extremely clean. Once the job was complete Ken personally return to do a final walk through and picked up any debris missed by the team. I will be keeping Ken and the team at DFW Roofers in mind for all future exterior projects.

Frequently asked

Is DFW Roofing Pro licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so no roofer in McKinney or anywhere else in Texas can hold one. The company describes itself as holding an operating licence for roofing contracts and as bonded and insured. The checks that actually mean something here are the certificate of insurance, the RCAT directory record, the BBB accreditation and any city registration where your address requires one.
What does RCAT Member mean for this company?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. DFW Roofing Pro, LLC appears in the RCAT directory as a member company, which means it pays dues and belongs to the association. That is separate from the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, shown as CRRL, RRL or CRL against an individual's name, which is earned through RCAT's own programme. Membership and the licensed credential are not the same thing.
Are the GAF and CertainTeed certifications verified?
Not by us. The company states on its own website that it is GAF certified and CertainTeed master shingle certified. We searched GAF's and CertainTeed's own contractor directories and did not find a listing under this company name, so both remain claims stated by the company. If a manufacturer certification matters to your warranty, ask the contractor for the certification number and check it directly on the manufacturer's site before signing.
What areas does DFW Roofing Pro cover?
The company is based in McKinney with a second office in Fort Worth and publishes location pages for Dallas, Fort Worth, McKinney and Lake Dallas, describing its coverage as the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex and North Texas more broadly. Confirm your specific city when you book, since coverage advertised across a metroplex does not always mean the same crew availability everywhere.
Should I choose Class 4 impact resistant shingles in Collin County?
Collin County sits in North Texas hail alley and repeat hail is the main reason roofs get replaced here. Class 4 shingles are tested under UL 2218 and many Texas insurers give a premium credit for them. Ask your carrier for the exact discount in writing, then ask the roofer to price a Class 4 option alongside a standard architectural shingle so you can weigh the upgrade against the annual saving.
What is stone coated steel and is it worth it?
Stone coated steel, such as the Decra products this company offers, is a steel panel finished with stone granules so it can look like asphalt shingle, cedar shake, clay tile or slate while behaving like metal. It is lighter than tile, holds up well to wind, and typically carries a long product warranty. It costs more than asphalt up front, so it makes most sense if you plan to stay in the house long term.
How does the hail insurance claim process work?
You report the damage, your insurer sends an adjuster, and the adjuster writes a scope and settlement. The company says it employs in house insurance supplementers who push back when a scope misses items. That is legitimate work, but the settlement is your insurer's decision, not the roofer's. In Texas a contractor cannot lawfully waive, rebate or pay your deductible, so treat any such offer as a warning sign.
How long has the company been in business?
The BBB record shows the business started on 28 October 2016 and accredited since 12 June 2017, which is around nine years. The company's own marketing refers to over ten years in commercial roofing, and its LinkedIn page lists a 1990 founding date. Those figures do not reconcile, and the BBB registration date is the one with a documented filing behind it.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in McKinney?
Texas has no statewide residential building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are set by each city and county. Check with the City of McKinney building inspections department for an address inside the city, or with the relevant municipality or Collin County otherwise. Put in writing who pulls the permit, who pays the fee and who meets the inspector.
What should I nail down before signing?
Get a written scope covering tear off, decking replacement pricing per sheet, underlayment, flashing, drip edge and ventilation. Get the certificate of insurance direct from the agent, showing general liability and workers compensation. Confirm exactly what the lifetime workmanship warranty covers, whether it transfers on sale, and which manufacturer warranty is being registered. Agree the payment schedule in advance and avoid paying the full balance before the final inspection.
