About

Momentous Construction Group is a roofing and general construction company based at 101 Vintage Dr, Suite 103 in Red Oak, about 20 miles south of downtown Dallas in Ellis County. The company's own About page says it was established in 2015 and previously operated as Roofing For HOPE, LLC, and it is led by founder and CEO Adrian Charles with co-founder and office manager Gloria Charles. Its stated focus is residential, commercial and multi-family roofing and construction across the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Beyond roof replacement and repair, the company lists a wider construction scope on its site: siding, gutters, fencing, windows, flooring, painting, and interior and exterior renovations, plus new patios and pergolas. It advertises complimentary property assessments and free inspections after storms that bring damaging wind or hail, which is the dominant roofing risk across North Texas. The Better Business Bureau lists Momentous Construction Group as an Accredited Business with an A+ rating (accredited since August 2025) and shows Adrian Charles as principal. The company also displays IKO RoofPro, NTRCA, The Good Contractors List, HUB and MBE badges on its website, and it appears in IKO's own contractor finder. We report credentials as we find them and verify insurance separately.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0610 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

So amazing to work with. Highly recommended by a friend and I couldn't be happier. I hope to be working with Adrian and company on many more projects. I needed a fast repair for a leaking roof and they came and tarped it so there would be no more damage and then came quickly to do the repair. Also, Adrian is just a fine human being and that isn't easy to find with contractors nowadays. Call him. You'll be well treated and get top quality workmanship.

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no statewide roofing contractor license. Anyone can legally call themselves a roofer here, so the things that actually separate contractors are insurance, voluntary industry credentials such as RCAT status, manufacturer certifications, and city or county registration where it applies.
What does RCAT status mean, and is Momentous a Member or Licensed?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. It has two different things: plain membership, which is a paid trade association status, and the separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires testing and continuing education. This listing records Momentous Construction Group under the RCAT Licensed credential, and the company also displays an RCAT Licensed seal on its own website.
Where is the company based and how far does it work?
Its office address is 101 Vintage Dr, Suite 103, Red Oak, TX 75154, in Ellis County. The company describes its market as the Dallas-Fort Worth region on its own site.
What is the biggest roofing risk in Ellis County and the DFW area?
Hail. North and Central Texas sit in what the industry calls Hail Alley, and the company's own site describes DFW as one of the highest hail risk areas in the United States. Wind driven rain and straight line wind from the same storms cause a large share of claims too.
Should I ask about impact-resistant shingles?
Yes. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated for the highest level in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you choose, and get the specific product and rating written into the contract.
How do free post-storm inspections usually work?
The contractor documents the roof and exterior, then tells you whether the damage looks like a claim or a repair. Momentous advertises complimentary property assessments and free inspections after damaging wind or hail. A free inspection is not the same as an approved claim, and no contractor decides what your insurer pays.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Red Oak or elsewhere in DFW?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are set city by city and county by county. Many DFW municipalities require a roofing permit and a final inspection for a full replacement. Ask who pulls the permit and confirm it is in the written scope.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent directly from the insurance agent, get a written scope that names the exact products, confirm who pulls the permit, and understand the difference between the manufacturer's material warranty and the contractor's workmanship warranty.
What does an IKO RoofPro listing tell me?
IKO RoofPro is a manufacturer contractor program, and Momentous appears in IKO's own contractor finder. Manufacturer programs generally require enrollment and, at higher tiers, training and installation standards. They are a useful signal, but they are not a government license.
Is the BBB rating the same as being insured?
No. A BBB rating reflects complaint history, transparency and time in business, not proof of coverage. Momentous is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, but you should still ask for a current certificate of insurance before work starts. We verify insurance separately from BBB status.
