About

Centennial Contracting & Roofing is a family owned roofing and exterior contractor at 1711 N Highway 67 in Midlothian, serving Ellis County and the wider Dallas Fort Worth area. The company brands itself as protecting Texas homes since 1983. The Fort Worth BBB records the business start date as March 17, 1986 and a Texas incorporation date of January 9, 2002, and lists the company as a BBB Accredited Business since March 14, 1991 with an A+ rating, which is one of the longest accreditation records among Ellis County roofers. Alongside residential and commercial roof replacement and repair, the company handles storm damage work and full exterior services including gutters, siding, windows, exterior painting and outdoor living construction. Its residential pages are built around Owens Corning shingle systems and it offers the Owens Corning Design EyeQ visualiser so homeowners can preview colours. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with an answering service after hours and at weekends. The company states that it is an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor and a GAF certified residential roofing contractor, and that it is an RCAT member with an NTRCA affiliation. It does hold a contractor profile on the Owens Corning directory, but Owens Corning's directory pages render client side and we were not able to read the tier from the manufacturer's own page, so the Platinum Preferred level is reported here as stated by the company. Local recognition includes Best of Ellis County from the Waxahachie Daily Light and Midlothian Mirror, with first place in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2025 and second place in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

The city publishes no certificate number or expiry date for this programme, so ask to see the registration itself before work starts.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0221 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had a great experience with Centennial from start to finish. When they inspected our roof, they suggested we also file insurance on fencing repair due to hail damage so we got our fence restained as well, plus new gutters. Our sales technician was Bob Erickson who was very knowledgeable. Working with him made the whole process seem effortless on our part. He kept us informed of daily progress, with photos too. Our house if over 4,000 sq ft and the roof very steep. Everyone involved went the extra mile to make sure we had a seamless experience. Highly recommend.

The entire centennial roofing team was phenomenal! From start to finish, they helped us through the process from accurate scope of work, fair price, and working with our insurance to ensure all items that were damaged during a Texas hailstorm were covered. Chris & Will specifically dedicated significant time and supported during night/weekend hours as they continuously followed up in support of this project. Our family can’t thank them enough for their commitment to service to deliver a quality install to protect our home for the future.

He is professional, friendly, articulate, and always available for questions. He thought of things before we did and made sure every aspect of the project went without a worry! The customer service is without a doubt the best I have ever experienced! The best part…our house looks beautiful! Thank you to the entire team at Centennial for an awesome job!

I had an excellent experience with Centennial Roofing from start to finish! They recently redid my roof, and the entire process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. Parker, the salesman, was outstanding he was knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to walk me through every step of the process. He made sure I understood my options and never pressured me into anything. His communication was top-notch, and I always felt informed and confident in my decisions. Staci, the manager, was equally impressive. She ensured everything stayed on track and handled all the details with great care and efficiency. It’s clear that she truly values customer satisfaction and takes pride in her work. The roofing crew did an amazing job my new roof looks fantastic, and the quality of work is very evident. They were professional, timely, and respectful of my property, leaving everything clean once the job was done. I highly recommend Centennial Roofing if you’re looking for reliable, high-quality roofing work. Great team, great service, and great results!

Working with Centennial Roofing was a great experience from start to finish. The professionalism the entire team brought—especially while dealing with the insurance company—was impressive and reassuring. In a sea of shady, fly‑by‑night roofing companies, Centennial truly stands out for all the right reasons. My two main points of contact, Will and Staci, walked me through every step of the process and kept me informed the entire time. Their communication and transparency made the whole experience smooth and stress‑free. I highly recommend Centennial Roofing to anyone looking for a trustworthy, professional roofing company.

Frequently asked

Is Centennial Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so no Texas roofing company holds one. What matters instead is current general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, BBB record, and whatever registration the City of Midlothian or Ellis County requires. Centennial is recorded by RCAT as a Member.
What does RCAT Member mean here?
It means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. That is different from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which involves testing and ongoing requirements. Centennial is listed at the Member level. Neither is a state licence, and the two should not be treated as the same thing.
Is Centennial BBB accredited, and for how long?
Yes. The BBB lists Centennial Contracting & Roofing as an Accredited Business since March 14, 1991, with an A+ rating, at 1711 N Highway 67 in Midlothian. Alternate names on the BBB record are Centennial Contracting, Inc. and Centennial Roofing.
When was the company actually founded?
The company's own site says 1983 and describes over 40 years in business. The BBB record gives a business start date of March 17, 1986 and a Texas incorporation date of January 9, 2002. The 1983 date is the one the company uses publicly, and either way this is a long established Ellis County business rather than a recent arrival.
Is the Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status verified?
Partly. The company does hold a contractor profile on the Owens Corning directory, which we located. Owens Corning's directory pages load their content through the browser, so the tier itself could not be read from the manufacturer's page directly. The Platinum Preferred level is therefore reported as stated by the company. Ask to see the current Owens Corning certificate before signing, since Platinum Preferred is what unlocks Owens Corning's stronger warranty options.
Which cities does Centennial serve?
Its service area pages cover Midlothian and Waxahachie in Ellis County plus Red Oak, Ovilla, Ennis, Italy, Maypearl and Venus, and it reaches into the wider metroplex including Cedar Hill, Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster, Mansfield, Kennedale, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Richardson, Plano, Frisco and Forney.
How bad is hail in Ellis County?
Ellis County sits inside the North and Central Texas corridor often called hail alley, and damaging spring hail is a routine event rather than a rare one. That is the main reason roofs in this area are replaced well before the shingle warranty runs out, and it is why impact resistant shingles are a common upgrade here.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Midlothian?
In this part of Texas they usually are worth pricing out. Class 4 shingles pass the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and hold up much better to hail bruising. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a documented impact resistant roof. Ask your carrier what the discount would be on your specific policy, then weigh it against the upgrade cost over the life of the roof.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Midlothian?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection rules are set by each city and county. Confirm the current requirement with the City of Midlothian building department, or with Ellis County if you are outside the city limits. A legitimate contractor pulls the permit in its own name.
What should I ask before signing after a hail storm?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent to you directly by the insurer, not a PDF forwarded by the salesperson. Ask for a line item estimate you can lay next to your adjuster's scope. Ask which specific manufacturer warranty is being registered and what the workmanship warranty covers, in writing. Ask who pulls the permit. And be wary of anyone pressing you to sign on the first visit.
