The company dates itself to 2007 on its own About page under the line "Keeping Properties in MINT Condition Since 2007", and it works across North and Central Texas as well as parts of Oklahoma. Its published Texas coverage includes Waxahachie, Midlothian, Red Oak, Ennis, Maypearl, Palmer, Ovilla, Glenn Heights, Mansfield and Dallas, and the company describes its territory as Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis and Navarro counties. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #1-0577 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Ryan and everyone at MINT made my roof and gutter repair easy. They handled communication with my insurance to get me the most possible. They also helped get new windows. I’m very pleased with the level of service and quality! We’ve used them before to replace my mom’s roof with wonderful results as well. The whole team does everything they can to help make it easy for the customer.

As a Business owner for over 25 years. I have a very good understanding of what quality performance looks like. Mint Exteriors replaced my roof shingles, gutters and painted my exterior trim on my home in Ovilla. They were always punctual and had exceptional communication throughout the project. The clean up was pure perfection not a nail to be found. I would use them again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to family, friends and anyone who has roof damage. Thanks again to Travis and the Mint Exterior crew!

Ryan from  Mint Exteriors Roofing put two roofs on our rental homes  in Midlothian and DeSoto.  They did an outstanding job on both. From start to finish, the entire process was professional, honest, and stress-free. What really stood out was how hard Ryan fought for us with the insurance company to make sure everything was handled correctly. They kept us informed, answered all our questions, and made sure the work was done right. The crews were punctual, respectful, and cleaned up thoroughly after the job. The roofs look amazing, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of the work and customer service. If you’re looking for a roofing company that truly cares about their customers and stands behind their work, I highly recommend them! Rick and Kathy

We had worked with MINT in the past for a roof inspection, and it was a great experience. So when we thought we had some damage from a recent hail storm, MINT was our first call. Ryan Story came right out and did the inspection, worked with us and our insurance, and followed up with us throughout the entire process. The whole team was a pleasure to work with, as they kept us informed and followed up to ensure everything was handled to our satisfaction. I would recommend this team to anyone who needs exterior work for their home.

Frequently asked

Is MINT Exteriors licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in Texas has one. The checks that do mean something are current general liability and workers' compensation insurance, RCAT status, BBB accreditation and manufacturer certification. MINT Exteriors holds RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor status, is BBB Accredited, and is listed by Owens Corning as a Platinum Preferred Contractor.
What does RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas offers plain membership, which simply means a company pays dues, and a separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that requires testing and insurance standards. MINT Exteriors holds the earned Licensed credential. It is an industry credential from a trade association, not a government licence.
What is Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and why does it matter?
Platinum Preferred is the top tier of Owens Corning's contractor network, above standard Preferred, and only that tier can offer Owens Corning's strongest system warranty. It requires proof of insurance, workmanship standards and customer service performance. MINT Exteriors appears at that level on Owens Corning's own contractor directory, so you can confirm it independently rather than taking the company's word.
What warranty comes with a roof replacement?
The company advertises a lifetime transferable workmanship warranty on qualifying roof replacements and a one year workmanship warranty on repairs, plus the extended Owens Corning system warranties its Platinum Preferred status allows. Workmanship and manufacturer warranties are separate documents. Ask for both in writing and check what transfers if you sell the house.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Ellis County?
Frequently yes. Waxahachie and the wider Ellis County area sit in the North Texas hail corridor. Class 4 shingles are tested to survive a two inch steel ball drop without cracking, and most Texas carriers offer a premium discount for a documented Class 4 roof. Ask your insurer to confirm the discount in writing before you pay the upgrade cost.
Do I need a WPI-8 windstorm certificate in Waxahachie?
No. WPI-8 certificates issued through the Texas Department of Insurance apply only to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties covered by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Ellis County is inland and not part of that programme, so no WPI-8 inspection or certificate is needed. Hail resistance is the relevant concern in this part of Texas.
Who handles the permit and inspection?
There is no statewide Texas building code for roofing, so permitting is decided by each city or county. The City of Waxahachie requires roofing permits, and the contractor usually pulls it. Put in the contract who is responsible and whether the fee is included, and keep the final payment until the local inspection has been signed off.
How does the company handle storm and insurance work?
Storm damage restoration and insurance claim support are advertised as core services, and the company says it specialises in helping homeowners through insurance driven projects. Be aware that Texas law prevents a roofing contractor from acting as your public adjuster on a job they are also contracted to perform. They can inspect, document and meet your adjuster, but not negotiate the claim for you.
Does MINT Exteriors do commercial and flat roofs?
Yes. Alongside residential work the company handles commercial roofing including flat and low slope systems, with TPO and EPDM listed among its materials, plus commercial maintenance. It also offers non roofing exterior work such as gutters, siding, windows, garage doors, pergolas and solar, which can be useful when one storm damages several parts of a building.
Where do they work and how do I contact them?
The office is at 2761 North Highway 77, Suite 120, Waxahachie, TX 75165, phone (214) 214-6468, email info@mintexteriors.com. Texas coverage includes Waxahachie, Midlothian, Red Oak, Ennis, Maypearl, Palmer, Ovilla, Glenn Heights, Mansfield and Dallas. The company also operates in Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman and Moore.
