About

McAdams Roofing is a small, veteran owned residential roofing company operating out of 2676 Shorewood Dr in Little Elm, Denton County. BBB records list Robert McAdams as owner, show the business starting on June 18, 2024 under the entity RW McAdams LLC (incorporated January 22, 2022), and record BBB accreditation since September 23, 2024. The company's tagline is proudly serving your roofing needs with military precision and care. The company also lists fencing installation, repair and staining, garage door installation, drywall repair and interior painting. Coverage runs across the DFW suburbs. Pages on the site name Little Elm, Frisco, Plano, The Colony, Oak Point, Aubrey, Sanger, Richardson, Garland, Mesquite, DeSoto and Fort Worth. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I highly recommend McAdams Roofing, they were a lifesaver for us! The crew was dependable, hard working, efficient, skilled and knowledgeable. They did an incredible job on our roof. Our 25 year old house literally looks like a new build in our neighborhood. These days it’s refreshing to find people with high integrity that you can trust and depend on!! It’s nice to deal with someone where quality of work is a major priority!

The owner Rob is a great guy. He came and inspected my roof and was honest with me. While there is some damage, it doesn't warrant a full replacement. While most other Roofers are trying to convince me to file a claim and replace the entire roof. You can trust Rob and McAdam's roofing be honest and ethical with their recommendation's. Which is worth it's weight in gold if you ask me. Thanks Rob.

Honest and straightforward and extremely knowledgeable. If it wasn’t for Robert and his team, I don’t even know if we would’ve been able to get our damaged roof replaced at all. I recommend him to everyone I know who needs their roof inspected or repaired / replaced.

I recently hired McAdams Roofing for a roof replacement, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! From start to finish, the team was professional, courteous, and incredibly efficient. They arrived on time, completed the job within the agreed timeframe, and left the work area spotless. The quality of the materials used was top-notch, and the finished roof looks fantastic! What really stood out to me was their attention to detail and the extra effort they made to ensure everything was done right. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I understood the process every step of the way. It's rare to find a contractor who truly cares about the work they do, but McAdams Roofing definitely does. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of roofing services. They exceeded my expectations and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free!

Frequently asked

Is McAdams Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so no roofing company in Texas holds one. What can be checked is insurance, city registration where the local jurisdiction requires it, and voluntary credentials. McAdams Roofing has been a BBB Accredited Business since September 23, 2024.
What does the RCAT Member status on this listing mean?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Member means the company has joined and pays dues. RCAT separately awards a Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that has to be earned through its own qualification process. The two are not equivalent, and this listing shows Member status.
How long has the company been operating?
BBB records show the business started on June 18, 2024, with the underlying entity RW McAdams LLC incorporated on January 22, 2022. The company's own site shows a years in business counter that has not been filled in. This is a young company, so weigh the owner's background and the workmanship warranty terms accordingly.
Should a Little Elm homeowner choose Class 4 impact resistant shingles?
Denton County sits in the North Texas hail corridor, where hail is the leading cause of roof replacement. Class 4 is the highest rating under the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. Many Texas homeowner policies offer a premium credit for a Class 4 roof, so ask your own carrier what the credit is worth and compare it against the upgrade cost on the quote.
Does a WPI-8 windstorm certificate apply in Denton County?
No. WPI-8 certificates are issued through the Texas Department of Insurance only for structures in the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties covered by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Little Elm is inland North Texas, so WPI-8 does not apply. Hail resistance and city permitting are the relevant issues here.
Who pulls the roofing permit in Little Elm?
Texas has no statewide building code administration, so permitting and inspection run city by city. In Little Elm that goes through the town's building inspections department, and neighbouring Frisco, Plano and The Colony each have their own process. Confirm in writing who is pulling the permit before the tear off starts.
How should insurance be verified before signing?
Ask for general liability and workers compensation certificates to be emailed directly from the insurance agency, with your property address listed as certificate holder. That confirms coverage is active on your job date rather than on the date a handed over photocopy was printed. This matters most with newer companies.
Can a roofing contractor negotiate a hail claim on my behalf?
Only a licensed public insurance adjuster may adjust a claim for you in Texas, and Insurance Code Chapter 4102 bars anyone from acting as both the contractor and the public adjuster on the same claim. A roofer can meet the carrier's adjuster on the roof, document damage and supply a scope of work, but should not be negotiating the settlement for you.
Is it legal for a roofer to waive or absorb my deductible?
No. Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes it an offence for a contractor to pay, rebate, waive or promise to absorb a homeowner's insurance deductible. An offer to do so is a clear warning sign, and it is one of the most common pitches heard after a North Texas hail event.
What should be written into the contract before work starts?
The shingle manufacturer and product line, the impact rating, the underlayment and ventilation spec, the price per sheet for replacing rotten decking, who pulls the permit, the total price and payment schedule, and the length of both the manufacturer material warranty and the contractor workmanship warranty. For a young company, ask specifically what happens to the workmanship warranty if the business changes hands.
