About

JPR Construction is a family owned roofing and exterior contractor based at 3500 Whiteley Rd in Wylie, on the Dallas County side of the city. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started in May 2004 and incorporated in July 2005, and lists Juan P. Rodriguez and Daena C. Rodriguez as the owners. The company's own About page describes founder Juan (JP) Rodriguez building the business with his son Juanito, who says the current company took shape after a major North Texas hail storm in 2012. The work is broader than roofing alone. The company advertises residential, commercial and industrial roofing, roof installation, repair, inspections and replacement, emergency and storm damage work, plus gutters, skylights, fencing, concrete and fire restoration. Materials described on the site include asphalt and fiberglass shingles, metal (corrugated, standing seam and zinc), tile, slate, shake and flat or built up systems. On storm work the company asks homeowners to have it assess damage before the insurance adjuster visit, and says it documents damage to gutters, system components and siding. JPR Construction has been a BBB Accredited Business since April 2009 and currently carries an A+ BBB rating, and it appears in GAF's contractor directory. Homeowners should still confirm current insurance certificates directly with the carrier before signing anything.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had the opportunity last summer to replace our roof. Alex & Juan did an amazing job. The communication was excellent, they dealt with the insurance directly and obtained the pertinent permits needed. Their price was fair and competitive and our questions were answered in a timely manner. We highly recommend them.

JPR did an excellent job replacing our old roof and gutters. They used high quality materials in spite of our insurance company that wasn’t cooperating with the project. Now we have a brand new black roof and black gutters that have significantly improved our house curb appeal. My wife and I are greatly satisfied with their job!

Getting a new roof is always stressful but Juan and his crew made it so much easier. I was able to trust that they were doing the job professionally and with my best interest in heart. This sometimes meant it made their job harder and they went above and beyond to fix issues I had that were beyond the scope of what was required including replacing some rotting siding! By the time Juan and his crew left I felt like I had a new friend and will definitely be using him and JPR Construction again when recommended and will refer everyone I know to his company.

JPR Construction installed a new roof for us and we couldn’t be happier. Juan and Joanne were great to work with—very professional, friendly, and always available. They offered a fair price and handled everything—permits, paperwork, and warranty—before I even had to ask. Communication was excellent by phone, email, and text, and they kept me updated every step of the way. Highly recommend them!

We had our roof replaced and our fence restained after hail damage. JPR Construction was very timely on communication and with getting us an estimate. They were very fair and honest with us. We were very pleased with how our roof and fence turned out. They both looked good and were so much better than before. They even repaired two small problems that our city inspector found in a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a roof or any kind of general construction.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer in Wylie is licensed by the state. The practical checks are current general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, and any registration the city requires.
What does RCAT Member mean for JPR Construction?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas lists JP Rodriguez Construction Inc as a member. RCAT membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. It is not the same as RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which this listing does not claim.
Which county is the company actually in?
Its office at 3500 Whiteley Rd, Wylie sits in the Dallas County portion of Wylie. Wylie straddles Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties, so the county depends on the exact address rather than the city name.
How do I verify insurance before hiring a roofer?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing general liability and workers compensation, then call the insurance agent listed on the certificate to confirm the policy is active. Do not accept a photocopy from the salesperson as the only proof.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in this part of Texas?
North Texas sits in the state's hail belt, and Class 4 impact-rated shingles are tested to resist hail strikes better than standard products. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, so ask your carrier what it will credit before you choose a shingle.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Wylie?
Texas has no statewide residential building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection rules are set city by city. Confirm with the City of Wylie, or the relevant city for your address, and make sure the contract says who pulls the permit.
What does the company do on a hail claim?
It asks homeowners to let it inspect and document the damage before the adjuster's visit, records damage to gutters, system components and siding, provides a cost estimate and assists with the claim and financing options.
What roofing materials does JPR Construction install?
Its site describes asphalt and fiberglass shingles, metal roofing in corrugated, standing seam and zinc profiles, tile, slate and shake, plus flat and built up systems for low slope roofs.
Does the company do more than roofing?
Yes. Alongside residential, commercial and industrial roofing it advertises gutters, skylights, fencing, concrete and fire restoration work.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the total price and scope in writing rather than an insurance-proceeds-only agreement, the manufacturer warranty and the separate workmanship warranty in writing, proof of insurance verified with the carrier, who pulls the permit, and whether any manufacturer certification the salesperson mentions can be confirmed on the manufacturer's own contractor directory.
