About

Imperial Roofing and Construction is a Plano based roofing and general contracting company working out of 400 Chisholm Pl in Collin County. It handles residential and commercial roofing along with a broader exterior remodelling line, and markets itself across the Dallas Metroplex as well as Austin and Houston. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started on 21 January 2022 and BBB Accredited since 21 February 2022, with an A+ rating, and names Igor and Caroline Dozortsev as the owners. The company appears in the RCAT directory as a licensed roofing contractor holding the Commercial and Residential Roofing License, which is the separately earned RCAT credential rather than plain membership. Beyond roof replacement and repair, the company lists storm damage restoration, metal roofing, multi-family roofing and a set of exterior trades including siding, windows, gutters, fencing, decks, patios and painting. Because Texas has no state roofing licence, homeowners should still request a current certificate of insurance direct from the insurer and confirm City of Plano permit requirements before work begins.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Insurance Required by RCAT Licensed credential (liability and workers’ comp cover are conditions of this credential; ask for the current certificate)

City/county registration Required in Plano Permit office ↗Contractor Registration (Building Inspections Department). Registration is required here to pull a roofing permit; we have not confirmed this company's own status, so check it before you sign.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0575 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had our roof replaced after a hail storm. Hail was golf ball size and did considerable damage. Imperial Roofing gave us a great quote and the team they scheduled were in and out within a day. Igor was very professional and extremely informative with the process. I can see why they have 600+ Five star ratings on Google reviews. Recommend!!! We just received a thank you holiday gift today. HIGHLY recommend Imperial roofing! From my initial call requesting a quote to the completed job, both Igor and Ivan were extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. Igor even looked through our insurance policy before the job to help us understand our options. The day of the job, their team arrived early and had the roof completed before the day was over. These guys are the real deal, if you need a roof I couldn’t recommend them enough.

If I'd known how good the new roof would look, I would have done it sooner. Imperial Roofing made the process super easy and comfortable. The sales person was polite, informative, and well prepared with an illustrative presentation. He did not waste my time. He answered all follow up questions the same day via e-mail or text. When the job began the crew was at our house early. The team was polite and hard working throughout the day, also considerate of the rest of our property and home. No plants, shrubs or flowers damaged. The job foreman was knowledgeable and informative. Again polite and I was impressed he got his hands dirty doing the work and helping out the crew. Apparently, Imperial uses the same crews so they work well together. The clean up was thorough. There's always a couple nails but so far it has only been literally a couple. Finally, we had a gulley washer of a storm a couple days later and the roof did what it is supposed to do. It kept the house dry. No leaks. They were even courteous when picking up their payment. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and the roof looks great. There are a LOT of roofers out there. We got estimates from five. I found Imperial to be easiest to work with, one of the most competitive prices, gave me a quote on the spot without hassle, and they did great work when they said they were going to do it. Other roofers ranged from sketchy to professional and some had good offerings and reputations. However, none of the others made it so easy or comfortable for us. I highly recommend Imperial Roofing and Construction, Inc.

Got my roof fully replaced by them. Called them for a free estimate and got a great deal from Igor and he was also kind enough to fix one of my fascia board for free. Igor told me that he can get his guys to come fix it on the same week, and did. A couple days later, his guys came and our roof got done in less than 5 hours. Ivan the onsite project manager was also great. He walked me through all the little details after the job. Everything smooth and clean around the house. Highly recommended

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing licence?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so nobody in Plano is state licensed to roof. The meaningful checks are current insurance certificates sent by the insurer, RCAT status, and City of Plano permitting.
What does it mean that this company is RCAT Licensed?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas separates plain membership from an earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential. Imperial Roofing and Construction appears in the RCAT directory holding the Commercial and Residential Roofing License, which is the earned credential rather than dues paying membership alone. It is an industry credential, not a government licence.
Where is the company based?
At 400 Chisholm Pl in Plano, Collin County. Note that the BBB profile lists Suite 108 while the company website and its RCAT record list Suite 213, so confirm the suite number if you are visiting in person.
How long has the company been in business?
The BBB records the business as started on 21 January 2022 and accredited from 21 February 2022. That makes it a comparatively new company, so ask for recent local references and photographs of completed jobs in your neighbourhood.
What are the business hours?
Published hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 7pm, Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday 8am to 2pm, closed Sunday. Confirm when booking, since seasonal storm demand can change availability.
Does the company handle hail damage insurance claims?
Storm damage restoration is a listed service. Collin County sits in the part of Texas that takes the most hail, so claims work is routine here. Read your own policy first for the deductible, and understand that a contractor cannot waive or absorb your deductible under Texas law.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Plano?
Often yes. Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested to resist hail damage better than standard shingles, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for installing them. Ask your carrier for the exact discount before you commit, because the upfront cost is higher.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Plano?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for this, so it is a city decision. Check the current requirement with the City of Plano building inspections department and make sure your contract states who pulls and pays for the permit.
How do I verify insurance before hiring?
Ask for general liability and workers compensation certificates and have the agent send them to you directly rather than accepting a forwarded copy. Check that the dates cover your project and that the insured name matches the company on your contract.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get a written scope covering decking replacement pricing, underlayment type, ventilation, flashing and site clean up. Ask who supervises on site, whether crews are employees or subcontractors, what the workmanship warranty covers and for how long, and how change orders are priced. Texas law lets you cancel a storm related roofing contract within a short window if your insurance claim is denied, so check that clause.
