About

Glenco Roofing is a family owned and operated roofing contractor on South Main Street in Fort Worth. Its website says the company has helped North Texas property owners solve roofing problems for more than forty years, and BBB records go back much further, listing a business start date of January 1, 1951 and incorporation in 1995 under president Glen Pierce. The company handles residential and commercial work including roof repairs, roof replacements, and roof inspections. Its products page shows an unusually wide catalog of roofing lines, from asphalt shingles by GAF, Owens Corning, TAMKO, CertainTeed, Malarkey, and Atlas to polymer shakes and slates (Inspire, DaVinci), metal panels and shingles (Mueller, Decra), clay and concrete tile (Ludowici, Boral), cedar shakes, and GAF elastomeric roof coatings. Glenco has been BBB accredited since May 1989 and holds an A+ rating, one of the longer accreditation histories among Fort Worth roofers. The company also appears in the Owens Corning contractor directory and on GuildQuality.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I highly recommend Glenco Roofing. In fact, I can't say enough good about Glen and everyone I was in contact with from the first call, Glen and the entire crew. After a hard downpour on Monday morning at around 8am, I discovered leak over a ceiling fan. I called Glenco and Glen called back within an hour. He came to my home by 11 and someone was there to patch the areas by 3. Glen worked with my insurance company on the claim. He arranged the appointment to replace the roof on the house and outbuilding for Wednesday. On Wednesday morning the crew arrived at 7 as arranged. By 7pm the entire job was done and the yard was cleaner than when they started. The roof is beautiful!! This company is an excellent example of customer service. I couldn't be happier.

Glenco was the only roofer out of 4 that supplied me with an estimate of work BEFORE talking my insurance company. Every other roofer wanted to meet with the insurance adjuster. Glen told me he did not think insurance would cover my roof replacement because of the age of the roof. He was right. Other companies all but promised to get insurance to cover the entire roof could not after working with 3 different adjustors. Glen gave me a range on the estimate, the low being not having to replace any decking and the high end if they had to replace all of the decking. They did not have to replace any decking and I was billed the low end estimate. Actually it was a little more, but I did have them add an addition 52 feet of ridge vents to augment the 20 feet of ridge vents already present. They charged an additional $425 for the parts and labor. I am very satisfied with the work done, plus my yard and driveway were left cleaner after they left than before the work was done.

Frequently asked

How long has Glenco Roofing been in business?
BBB lists a business start date of January 1, 1951, about 75 years, with incorporation in 1995. The company's own site describes more than forty years serving North Texas property owners.
Is Glenco Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer can claim one. Glenco's listing here reflects RCAT membership; also look for verifiable insurance and any registration your city requires.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separate, tested designation. They are not equivalent, so ask which one a contractor holds.
Does Glenco Roofing work on both homes and businesses?
Yes. Its site lists residential and commercial work, including roof repairs, replacements, and inspections.
What roofing brands and materials does Glenco carry?
Its products page lists asphalt shingles from GAF, Owens Corning, TAMKO, CertainTeed, Malarkey, and Atlas, plus Inspire and DaVinci polymer shakes and slates, Mueller and Decra metal, Ludowici and Boral tile, cedar shakes, and GAF roof coatings.
Is Glenco Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes. BBB shows Glenco Roofing Inc as accredited since May 1, 1989 with an A+ rating.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance for general liability and workers compensation sent directly from the insurer or agent, and confirm the coverage is current before work begins.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Fort Worth?
Permitting in Texas is handled city by city because there is no statewide enforcement. Ask the contractor what the City of Fort Worth or your suburb requires and who is responsible for pulling the permit.
Should I consider Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Fort Worth?
Tarrant County sits in North Texas hail country, so Class 4 shingles are worth pricing. They resist hail damage better and many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for them.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract?
Get scope, materials, price, and warranty terms in writing, verify insurance certificates, ask who handles permits, and be wary of anyone offering to waive or absorb your insurance deductible, which is illegal in Texas.
