Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0282 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Annie was recommended to me by a friend, for roof replacement. She was very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. She let me know what to expect ahead of time, which was comforting and made the process go smoothly. She made sure I was happy with the work being done, and even got my insurance company to pay for some water damage, for which they initially refused to pay. I am happy with the results. I only had to pay my insurance deductible. This seems to be a very good company. They also do other residential and business construction and repair.

Ez Roof has done a great job. Special thanks to Carlos, Esteban, and the entire crew. Our roof was replaced 6 years ago and is holding up in great shape. They guided us through the insurance claim process making it stress free. Great service, honest, professional, caring staff. Highly recommend!

EZ Roof and Construction, especially Mr. Roberto Guzman, provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. They offered competitive, fair pricing and completed the project efficiently while maintaining excellent workmanship. The team arrived promptly, kept the job site clean, and patiently addressed all of our questions. They went above and beyond by repairing minor damage to our window sunscreens during the process and ensuring everything was left in great condition. Their commitment to quality continued even after the job was completed, returning a year later for an inspection and making any necessary adjustments. We are very pleased with their professionalism, communication, and attention to detail. My family highly recommends their services. Thank you Mr. Roberto and EZ Roofing!

Frequently asked

Is EZ Roof and Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer can hold one. EZ Roof holds the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential from the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, a voluntary examination-based designation that is distinct from plain RCAT membership.
What manufacturer certifications does EZ Roof hold?
GAF's contractor directory lists the company as GAF Certified Plus for residential and commercial work, and Owens Corning's directory lists it as a Platinum Preferred Contractor, Owens Corning's highest tier. It also describes itself as a CertainTeed ShingleMaster, which we could not independently verify. These credentials allow it to offer enhanced manufacturer warranties on qualifying systems.
How long has EZ Roof been in business?
GAF's directory shows the company in business since 2006, and it has been BBB accredited since October 2009. That is roughly two decades serving the Greater Houston area.
Does EZ Roof handle commercial as well as residential roofs?
Yes. Besides residential shingle work, it installs and repairs commercial systems including EPDM and modified bitumen, and it appears in GAF's commercial contractor directory as well as the residential one.
Does homeowners insurance cover storm damage to my Houston roof?
Wind and hail damage is typically covered under a standard Texas homeowners policy, subject to your wind/hail deductible. Houston sits in Harris County, which is not one of the 14 first-tier TWIA coastal counties, so most Houston homeowners claim through their own insurer rather than TWIA. The company offers storm damage repair and free inspections that can document damage for a claim.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Houston?
Hail is a recurring Texas risk, and Class 4 impact-rated shingles can earn a discount on the wind/hail portion of your premium with many Texas insurers. Ask your insurer about discounts first and have the shingle class documented on the final invoice.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Houston?
Permitting in Texas is set city by city because there is no statewide code authority. The City of Houston generally does not require a permit for like-for-like residential reroofing, but suburbs such as Katy or Sugar Land have their own rules. Confirm local requirements and who pulls any permit before work starts.
Does EZ Roof offer financing?
Yes, the company advertises financing with 12 to 36 month terms, 0% interest options, and plans starting around $99 per month, subject to approval. Get financing terms in writing alongside the roofing contract.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Request a certificate of general liability insurance direct from the insurer, confirm workers compensation or occupational accident coverage, get the full scope, materials, and warranty in writing, and avoid any contractor who offers to waive or rebate your insurance deductible, which is illegal under Texas law.
Does EZ Roof offer free inspections?
Yes, it advertises free roof inspections with a 24-hour turnaround, which is useful after a storm when you need damage documented quickly for an insurance claim.
