About

A&M Construction & Roofing is a residential and commercial roofing contractor based at 8036 Gila Bend Ln in Fort Worth. Company and BBB records show it was founded in 2008 (RCAT's own directory lists 2007) by Mario Armendarez, a former insurance field adjuster. That background shapes the company's approach: free roof inspections that include photo documentation of storm and hail damage to help homeowners through the insurance claims process. The company installs and repairs asphalt shingle, metal, and tile roofing, and also handles decking repair and routine roof maintenance for Fort Worth area properties. It holds RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor (RRL) designation, a credential separate from plain RCAT membership, under Residential Roofing License #01-0371. A&M Construction & Roofing is BBB accredited with an A+ rating (accredited since 2014) and has held HomeAdvisor's Screened and Approved status for 10 years.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0371 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

It was a long experience prior to having the service completed by A&M construction, after multiple denials from insurance claims and going round and round with insurance adjusters, as soon as A&M construction came in they got the job done in a timely manner. Mario, the owner is real personable and easy to talk to and down to earth.

I found this wonderful company A&M construction and roofing at the BBB site. I had a terrible experience with a previous company but Mario was able to solve an 8 month ongoing roofing issue within weeks with our insurance company. The work was completed properly and in a timely matter. Thank you Mario for handling this work in such a professional and efficient way.

I don't have enough good things to say about A&M Construction and Roofing or its owner and operator, Mario. My roof was a mess and Mario kept me at ease, walked with me the entire way, and was even nice enough to help my mother with her lawn issues (just because that's the kind of person he is). I've never felt more taken care of by a business. Also, my new roof is gorgeous!

Mario and his team blew me away with their service, quality of work and follow up. They were able to repair my roof within the same day when other roofers dragged their feet for weeks. Thank you Mario for your service and for making me feel like a priority!

Honest roofing price and amazing communication and product! Mario was very open and honest with us about the roof, did a full diagnostic. Even checked our decking. Communicated with us throughout the process.

Frequently asked

Is A&M Construction & Roofing licensed in Texas?
Texas has no statewide roofing license, so there is no state license number to check. A&M Construction & Roofing holds RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor (RRL) designation, a credential earned separately from plain association membership.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT Membership is open to any company that pays dues, while the Licensed Roofing Contractor designation (RRL, CRRL, or CRL) is separately earned and verifies additional qualifications. A&M Construction & Roofing holds the RRL designation.
Should I confirm A&M Construction & Roofing's insurance before hiring?
Yes. Always ask for current proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance before work begins, since Texas has no state license process that would otherwise confirm this.
Does A&M Construction & Roofing help with hail damage insurance claims?
The company was founded by a former insurance field adjuster and offers free roof inspections with photo documentation of storm and hail damage, which can support a homeowner's insurance claim.
Are impact-resistant shingles available for hail-prone areas like Fort Worth?
Fort Worth sits in North Texas hail country, where hail is a leading cause of roof damage. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are worth asking about, since some insurers offer premium discounts for them.
Does Fort Worth require a permit for a roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is handled city by city. Confirm with the contractor that any required City of Fort Worth permit and inspection will be pulled before work starts.
What roofing materials does A&M Construction & Roofing install?
The company installs asphalt shingle, metal, and tile roofing systems for residential and commercial properties.
Does A&M Construction & Roofing offer free estimates?
Yes, the company offers free consultations and roof inspections.

Company and BBB records show it was founded in 2008 (RCAT's own directory lists 2007), making it an established Fort Worth roofing contractor.
What should I ask a Fort Worth roofer before signing a contract?
Ask for proof of insurance, confirm RCAT status (Member vs. Licensed Roofing Contractor), get the scope of work and materials in writing, and clarify who pulls the required city permit.
