About
DC Pines Roofing is a veteran owned residential and commercial roofing contractor working from a Midtown Houston office at 2808 Caroline Street, Suite 200, in Harris County. BBB records show the business started on 14 October 2020. Owner Jeff Ternois served four years as a US Army infantry officer, reaching the rank of captain and leading infantry platoons in Europe and Afghanistan before moving into the private sector. The company describes itself as having been started specifically to serve homeowners whose roof claims were denied by their insurer, and it offers financing and payment plans for out of pocket replacements. The service list on its own site runs to residential roof installation, repair, inspections, soft washing and maintenance programs, plus commercial roofing, new construction roofing, gutters, windows, siding replacement and painting, storm damage and emergency response, and insurance claim consulting. Its residential work is built around CertainTeed shingle systems, hand nailed rather than gun nailed, and the site advertises a 50 year manufacturer warranty that is non prorated for the full term. Reaching that level of coverage requires top tier CertainTeed contractor status, and the company states it holds CertainTeed manufacturer certification at SELECT ShingleMaster and Master Craftsman level. That is stated by the company. CertainTeed replaced its public browsable contractor directory with a lead capture form, so the credential could not be checked against the manufacturer's own listing. DC Pines is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited on 15 March 2024, and appears in both the RCAT directory and the Houston Area Roofing Contractors Association directory. Inspection hours run Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm, with emergency calls taken around the clock. Most of Harris County sits outside the TWIA designated windstorm area, which reaches only the part of the county east of State Highway 146, so hail, straight line wind and heat driven shingle wear, not WPI-8 certification, drive most Houston roof work.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

DC Pines Roofing did an excellent job! Mecha, our inspector was very professional and well spoken. He discussed the underlying issues we had on our roof in great detail with us. Jaime, our project manager was very sweet and helpful. She did an exceptional job managing our build while answering all of our questions. The whole process was easy and stress-free, and I would 100% recommend DC Pines Roofing to anyone who needs a quality roof.
Great service. Job was professional. I initially dealt with Eliot who walked me through the warranty, materials, and workmanship. Very personable and knowledgeable. Anthony was the project manager and answered all my questions and resolved issues. Chris the QC guy came by and checked on progress. The crew was very good and knowledgeable. They showed up at 6 AM and started immediately so they got the job done in one day. Very attractive roof at the end of day.
Our new roof looks great! Crew was very professional. Did a great job of cleaning up after the job was done. Very happy with DC Pines. Multiple people kept in constant contact. Eliot was always in touch making sure we had all questions answered and were happy with the process.
This is Barbara Ferring and I would like to tell you about the wonderful people who have been working on my house diligently and it looks absolutely beautiful. I’d like to tell you about Jaime and Eliot. They were absolutely perfect today. I watched all the work outside. It’s amazing. My roof is beautiful. These two have been a great help and they need big kudos!
Update 3: I do believe the customer service we received was an anomaly for their regular standards. The follow ups that we have received indicate to me that they really do care about how their service is received. I would recommend this company. Update 1: while I was initially impressed with this company, ultimately I am unhappy with their customer service. My roof was installed on July 21, 2025. It is September 17, 2025 and they still haven't finished the job. They convinced me to purchase gutters that had to be corrected four times because the person who sold them to us didn't look closely enough at our soffits and the installers were not experienced enough or did not care enough to adjust due to the error made by the Quality Control Manager, Chris, who inspected the roof and sold us the gutters, which were suggested to keep the roof warrantied. The gutter crew came out four times before they were finally appropriate. The company was supposed to send out a roof quality inspection after the last gutter re-fitting (because the gutters they installed caused some of the roofing shingles to lift off the roof). The initial install of the roof was good, and the radiant barrier we purchased seems like it was installed correctly. Very disappointed that we have had to chase this company down to finish this job. I'm over it! DC Pines has done a great job. From sales to install to closing, they did the job well. It looks great and it wasn't even all that loud inside the house. They cleaned up using a magnet roll to make sure all the nails and whatnot were picked up, and cleaned everything up nicely. Fast, efficient. Def recommend. Update 2: gutters through them were not as easy as the roof. They had to come out 4 times before the gutters were right. They did come through eventually and they finally look right. We are just waiting for one final inspection from them to ensure the gutters didn't damage the roof. Always cordial and nice though. Roof was great; gutters not so much.
