About

Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors LLC is a Corpus Christi roofing and exterior contractor at 3765 S Alameda St in Nueces County, with a second location in Victoria. The BBB records the business as starting in June 2024, and it has been a BBB Accredited Business with an A rating since December 2024. It also appears in the RCAT contractor directory as a member, and the owner of record with the BBB is Diego J Garcia. Nueces County is one of the 14 first-tier Texas coastal counties, and windstorm work is a genuine part of what this company sells. Buffalo states it performs windstorm certified roofing installations built to Texas Department of Insurance specifications so the roof can receive a WPI-8 certificate of compliance, which is what the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association looks for on wind and hail coverage. The company also says it works with coastal grade materials, including corrosion resistant fasteners, impact resistant shingles and UV stabilised membranes, rather than inland climate products. Beyond roofing, Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors covers siding, windows and doors, exterior painting, fencing, patios, porches and custom decks, plus storm damage assessment and insurance claim support. Its Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status is verifiable on Owens Corning's own contractor directory.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors did an amazing job at Wooldridge Place Nursing Center! We are a very large building and our particular project had some unexpected and no doubt complicated repairs, and the team at Buffalo went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We are a skilled nursing facility and many residents can be sensitive to excess noise and/or environment changes, but Buffalo made every effort to work fast and efficiently to minimize any disruption. The building looks great with its new roof, and we are 100% leak free! Amazing customer service, and expert craftsmanship, if i could rate more than 5 stars I would!

Buffalo did a Great job! Definitely changed the look of the house. Most of my neighbors had a roof job before me and went back to the same roof. I wanted something to match the house amd I must say Buffalo hit it out of the park! Outstanding work, professional, and tinely work ethic. Definitely recommend them for a job! The price was right also!!!! Hit'em up if you need a roof repaired!

Buffalo Roofing did an Awesome Job. I said “I want that New roof (baby) Diego”. IFYKYK. Diego gave me a quote with exactly what he was doing, replacing, and notice of additional cost if necessary. Diego’s crew showed up promptly on schedule day and got to work. They cleaned up thoroughly and even ran a magnet over yard to pick up lost nails. Highly recommend them if your in need of a roof or have questions.

I contacted Buffalo roofing and exterior because they did some work for me in the past and did a great job. This time they built a walkway and a patio for my rental property. Once again they didn’t disappoint, they were clean and the job was done in one day. Great attention to detail and the quality of work was outstanding. They have become my go to company.

Frequently asked

What is a WPI-8 and why does it matter in Corpus Christi?
A WPI-8 is the Certificate of Compliance for Windstorm Construction issued by the Texas Department of Insurance. It confirms a roof or structure was built to TDI's windstorm building specifications. Nueces County is one of the 14 first-tier coastal counties, so if you want or need Texas Windstorm Insurance Association wind and hail coverage on your property, the certificate on your roof is what proves the work qualifies.
Does Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors do WPI-8 windstorm work?
Yes, the company markets windstorm certified roofing as a core service and says it installs to Texas Department of Insurance specifications for fastening, underlayment and approved materials so the roof can be certified. Note the distinction: a roofer does not issue the WPI-8. TDI issues it after an approved inspection, or a Texas licensed professional engineer certifies the work. The contractor's job is to build to spec and to get the inspection filed at the right time.
When does the windstorm inspection have to be arranged?
Before the work starts, not after. TDI's windstorm inspection process requires the application to be filed ahead of construction so the covered stages can be inspected while they are still visible. If your roof is dried in and shingled before anyone applies, you generally lose the ability to get it certified through the standard inspection route and are left with the more expensive engineer certification path, if it is available at all. Confirm in writing who is filing and when.
Is Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors licensed by the State of Texas?
No Texas roofer is. Texas issues no state roofing contractor licence, so there is no state licence number to look up for any roofer in the state. Judge a Texas roofer on current general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT or other association membership, manufacturer credentials, BBB record and any city registration required for the permit.
What does the RCAT Member status mean here?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors appears in the RCAT directory as a Member, which means the company has joined and pays dues. That is separate from RCAT's independently earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL). Membership shows industry participation, it is not a government licence.
What manufacturer credentials does the company actually hold?
Owens Corning lists Buffalo Roofing and Exteriors as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor on its own contractor directory, so that one is verifiable at the source. Third party directories have described the company as a CertainTeed preferred contractor as well, but no CertainTeed profile was found, so treat any CertainTeed claim as stated by the company until you see it on CertainTeed's own Find a Pro listing.
Do coastal materials really differ from inland ones?
Yes, and it is not marketing. Salt air corrodes ordinary fasteners and flashing, sustained wind loads are higher near the water, and TDI's windstorm specifications set minimum fastening patterns and approved product lists that inland jobs never have to meet. Ask for the product approval numbers for the shingles, underlayment and fasteners going on your roof, and keep them with your insurance paperwork.
How do I verify a Corpus Christi roofer's insurance?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing general liability and workers compensation, and ask that it be sent to you directly by the insurance agency named on the certificate rather than forwarded by the salesperson. Confirm the policy period covers the actual days your roof will be open, which matters more on the coast where a job can be paused by weather.
Can a roofer cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or promising to absorb any part of your property insurance deductible. Anyone offering to make your deductible disappear, or to write the invoice so it looks paid, is exposing you both. Decline it and get your quote in plain numbers.
Where does Buffalo Roofing & Exteriors work?
The company's own location pages cover Corpus Christi, Portland, Port Aransas, Robstown, Sinton and Gregory across the Coastal Bend, plus Victoria, where it has a second location, and San Antonio. Confirm your address at estimate time, because the windstorm rules that apply in Nueces County do not apply the same way inland toward San Antonio.
