About

Peak Roofing & Construction is a family owned roofing and exterior contractor based at 6841 Ash St in Frisco's Rail District (Collin County), trading under the tagline "Honest. Local. Quality Craftsmanship. Guaranteed." It was founded by Jeff and Joey Riss after they moved to Frisco, and BBB records the business as started in January 2003 and incorporated that December under the name Jeff Riss Enterprises, Inc. A second office was later opened in North Austin at 14205 North Mopac Expressway. The work is broader than roofing alone. Residential roofing covers asphalt, composite, architectural and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles plus tile, slate and metal, while the commercial side runs flat roof replacement, TPO and PVC membrane, modified bitumen and reflective coatings. The company also offers gutters and gutter guards, exterior painting, siding, fencing and windows, interior water damage remediation and repair, emergency roof repair and scheduled maintenance and inspections. Peak has been a BBB Accredited Business since July 2012 and holds an A+ rating. It lists membership of the NRCA, RCAT and the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association, a HAAG certified inspector on staff, the Cool Roof Rating Council, and repeat Angi Super Service Awards from 2014 and 2016 through 2020. It names GAF, Owens Corning, Carlisle SynTec, Versico and Johns Manville as manufacturer partners and has a profile in the Owens Corning contractor directory. RCAT records the company with the Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which is earned separately from plain RCAT membership. Texas has no state roofing licence, so those credentials plus current insurance are the trust basis here.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0481 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We at Ridgewood Flooring truly love working with Peak. As a contractor, it’s extremely important for us to partner with companies that are organized, reliable, and great with communication—and Peak checks all those boxes. A huge shoutout to Ricardo. Every time we need something adjusted, clarified, or communicated to the client, he’s always on top of it. He keeps everyone in the loop, shows up on time, and does an excellent job managing timelines. That level of professionalism makes projects run smoothly and successfully. Great company to work with. We highly recommend Peak and look forward to many more projects together.

Peak took care of our roof repair quickly, and professionally. There was never an attempt to overcharge us, or sell us something we didn't need. A very honest approach which is refreshing. Thre was no delay, and everyone was on time. The sales person communicated the process every step of the way. Once the repair was completed, he contacted me to assure my total satisfaction and job well done. I will recommend Peak to my neighbors, family, and friends. Great Customer Service.

We’ve worked with Peak Roofing twice now and have been really happy both times. They fixed a section of our roof, handled the related construction work smoothly, and kept everything within budget. Mike was great about explaining options and offering tips to help prevent future issues. He even came back recently to help with a small repair and was just as friendly and professional as before. Definitely a company you can count on for roofing and home construction projects.

Peak Roofing is a dependable and reliable company whom you can trust and I could not be happier choosing them over other roofing companies. I'm extremely satisfied with the results and how the team handled all aspects of the project, from the replacement of roof to chimney and gutters plus some unexpected work. Ricardo has truly exceeded all expectations with his contribution to the project by consistently communicating, always being on site and doing so much extra work along the way. Robert and his team installed a beautiful roof ahead of schedule and followed up with a few minor tweaks. Tony went far and beyond to make sure all concerns are addressed and well taken care of, including installing a custom-made transition flashing. Having such hard-working, dedicated employees is an asset to the company.

This company was professional from start to finish. The subcontractors who worked on my home were experienced professionals who treated my home like it was their own. Our project manager, Marcus, spent time talking to us about colors and product quality that sped up our HOA approval and saved us money on our Homeowner's Insurance moving forward. This GC is the PEAK of customer service a product quality!

Frequently asked

Am I looking at the right Peak Roofing? There are several nationally.
The Frisco company is Peak Roofing & Construction at 6841 Ash St, Frisco, TX 75034, phone (972) 335-7325, website peakroofingconstruction.com. Its BBB profile lists the alternate business name Jeff Riss Enterprises, Inc. Companies with similar names in other states are unrelated.
Is Peak Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. What is verifiable is current insurance, the RCAT record, BBB accreditation and city registration where required. RCAT records this company with the Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which is a RCAT credential, not a government licence.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
RCAT Member simply means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and experience requirements. They are not equivalent, and this company is recorded as Licensed.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Collin County?
Frisco, Plano, McKinney and the rest of Collin County sit squarely in Texas Hail Alley and take damaging hail most spring seasons. Class 4 shingles pass the UL 2218 steel ball test and many Texas carriers give a meaningful premium discount for them. Ask your insurer for the exact discount in writing first, since the payback period depends entirely on that number.
Why does a HAAG certified inspector matter on a hail claim?
HAAG is the training body whose damage assessment methodology is widely used by insurance adjusters. A contractor with a HAAG certified inspector is documenting damage using the same framework the adjuster is likely to apply, which tends to make the inspection report easier to reconcile with the carrier's own findings.
Does the company serve Austin as well as DFW?
Yes. It lists a second office at 14205 North Mopac Expressway, 5th Floor, Austin, TX 78728, with a separate line at (512) 415-6888, and covers Austin area cities including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville and Lakeway.
Who pulls the permit for a roof replacement in Frisco?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are set city by city. The City of Frisco runs its own process, and neighbouring Plano, McKinney and Allen each run theirs. The contractor should pull the permit under its own name and the permit number should be on your paperwork.
What commercial roof systems do they install?
The commercial pages list flat roof replacement in TPO and PVC single ply, modified bitumen, and cool roof restoration coatings in elastomeric, acrylic and silicone. Carlisle SynTec, Versico and Johns Manville are named as commercial manufacturer partners.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract after a hail storm?
Get the scope in writing with the decking replacement rate per sheet, the underlayment and flashing spec and the ventilation plan. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer. Confirm the workmanship warranty term in writing separately from the manufacturer warranty. Be cautious with any agreement that binds you the moment a claim is approved, and read the cancellation clause.
Can a roofer negotiate my insurance claim for me in Texas?
No, not unless separately licensed as a public adjuster. In Texas the roles are kept apart, so your contractor can document damage, meet the adjuster on site and quote the repair, but the claim negotiation is yours or a licensed public adjuster's. Be wary of anyone promising to handle your deductible.
