Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0582 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Invictus is an excellent company and does top quality work. Paul over sales was amazing to work with. He has so much knowledge on insurance claims and educated me well. He truly made my wife and I's experience great when we had to get our roof and gutters replaced because of storm damage. He walked us through everything and was very patient and informative. He did not try to pressure us at all and was trustworthy. He truly listened to our needs. The company's crew was very effective, efficient and fast. They did a great job cleaning everything after the work completion. I highly recommend Invictus and Paul Lumen for anyone. They offer excellent service and quality for all job types!

When it came time to select a company to replace my roof, I did quite a bit of research. Replacing a roof is an expensive and impactful bit of home maintenance and I wanted it done right the first time and with no hassles. I can state unequivocally that Invictus fit the bill. I had several companies come out and look at my roof. I only contacted companies that had high ratings and of those, Pat Louden with Invictus was the only person to come out, take photos and video, then walk me through what he found. He did not try to hide anything and walked me through every step of the process they use. Nobody else was as thorough nor did they take the extra time to ensure I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision. This was an insurance claim and you hear all the time about roofers and insurance adjusters being at odds with one another. Not in this case, Pat did such a good job with the adjuster that he did all he could under my policy and minimize my out-of-pocket costs. The adjuster even made a point to state how he had never worked with a roofing representative as thorough and professional as Pat. And I have not even gotten to the roof. First class job all around. Zack Travers was onsite the whole day, the crew was very respectful of me and my wife when we interacted. They took great care in working to prevent any damage to my property during the work and then did a stellar job cleaning up after (even going to my neighbors and picking up any items that fell over the fences). It has been almost a month since the work was complete and I have found all of two small nails in my yard. I have had more debris in my yard from other neighbors getting roofs than I had in replacing mine. Invictus also installed gutters on my home as it was built without gutters. Again, a thorough and professional job. My house looks brand new. The follow-up by Invictus has been more than I expected. They have kept in contact and checked in a few times after recent storms to make sure there were no issues. I would recommend Invictus without equivocation. Great people, great quality, and great service.

From my first meeting I was made aware of the steps that would be taken to replace my roof. I appreciated seeing a video of my roof and the magnification showing what actual hail damage does to a shingle. When i got the estimate from my insurance appraiser, instead of going over it on the phone, they came and went over it piece by piece. On the day before of the installation, i received both a text snd email letting me know what prep needed to be done snd what to expect the day of installation. The day of installation, everyone was on time and the Invictus Team kept me updated on the process. After installation my yard was swept twice for any nails along with the neighbor’s yards on each side of me. Invictus does use an upgraded shingle that is hail resistant. I also chose to upgrade snd have a solar fan installed. I am very pleased with the whole process in getting my roof replaced. I felt very informed and any questions I may have had were addressed. I encourage anyone needing a roof replaced or solar panels to call Invictus.

For a big job and something that you really do not want to do or experience- the entire team of Invictus Roofing really went out of their way to ensure it was as painless and efficient , as possible! The attention to detail, prepping of our home and protecting it as well as their communication before, during and after, was seamless and extremely best in class service. I would highly recommend this company to family, friends and neighbours for their expertise and the reasons above. We were also very impressed at how the owner and leaders of the company treated their employees and looked out for their well being in extreme heat, and of course their safety on and off the roof. Thank you Invictus for a job well done!

My experience with Invictus has been incredible. I’d give 10 stars if I could. I reached out because I was confused about 2 different roofing opinions we’d gotten and Michael offered to come give me a 3rd opinion and advocating with me for my insurance - all while being clear he wanted what was best for our family even if they didn’t get the business. I NEVER felt pressured. That’s why they won. Michael was overly patient with me. He answered every text promptly and was here when we had the work done. The crew was professional and efficient. They left the place clean and better than they found it. I also had gutters done - again - excellent experience. That crew was fast and clean. And - though our house is old and job comparatively small in their world - and we are FAR from them - they treated me like a valuable client. Incredible customer experience from my first call to my final payment. Well done invictus. Thank you for working with me and for your kindness and professionalism.

Frequently asked

Does Texas licence roofing contractors?
No. There is no state roofing contractor licence in Texas, so no Texas roofer can hold one. The company's site refers to being licensed in several states, but for Texas work the meaningful checks are current general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, BBB record, and whatever registration the city where the work happens requires. Ask for the insurance certificate to come from the agent directly.
What does the RCAT status Licensed mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas separates plain dues paying membership from its earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL). Invictus is recorded at the Licensed level, which is the earned RCAT credential rather than membership alone. It is an association credential and should not be described as a government licence.
Which manufacturer certifications are independently verified?
Two are. GAF's own contractor directory lists Invictus Roofing & Construction of Frisco as a GAF GoldElite Commercial Contractor, and Polyglass U.S.A.'s own contractor directory lists Invictus Companies, LLC dba Invictus Roofing at the Frisco Main Street address as a Preferred Contractor. The company also appears in IKO's contractor finder. Note that a similarly named Invictus Roofing operating in Atlanta and Nashville is a different company, and its certifications do not apply here.
What does GAF GoldElite mean for a commercial roof?
GoldElite is GAF's commercial contractor tier, and GAF's own listing states that a GoldElite contractor can offer the GAF Diamond Pledge NDL roof guarantee with a coverage term of up to 25 years on qualifying systems. NDL means no dollar limit on the covered repair, within the guarantee terms. Ask which specific system and thickness is being quoted, because guarantee length depends on the assembly.
Is the Frisco head office in Denton County or Collin County?
Frisco sits across both counties. The company's registered address at 3245 Main St, Ste 235-380, Frisco TX 75034 falls on a Denton County parcel, so this listing records Denton. Its second office in Little Elm is also in Denton County. The county matters for appraisal and property records rather than for the roofing work itself.
Does Frisco require a permit for a roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is city by city. Frisco operates its own building inspections process and re-roofs normally need a permit and a final inspection. Get it in writing that the contractor pulls the permit under its own name and schedules the inspection, and keep the closed permit for resale.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it here?
Frisco and the wider Denton and Collin County area sit in the North Texas hail corridor, so usually yes. Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a documented Class 4 roof. Confirm the discount with your carrier before paying the upgrade, and keep the invoice and product data sheet naming the exact shingle installed.
How does an insurance claim for hail damage normally work?
You report the damage, the carrier sends an adjuster, and the first payment is usually actual cash value with recoverable depreciation released once the work is finished and invoiced. Texas law bars a roofing contractor from acting as a public insurance adjuster on a claim it is also bidding, so a contractor can meet the adjuster and identify damage but cannot negotiate the settlement for you.
Can a roofer cover my deductible?
No. Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes it an offence for a contractor to pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible, and the homeowner is exposed too. A proper estimate shows the deductible as your out of pocket amount. Any free roof or no deductible offer should end the conversation.
What should a multifamily or commercial owner ask before awarding work?
Ask which manufacturer guarantee is being offered and at what term, whether the contractor is certified for that specific system, who inspects on behalf of the manufacturer, how tear off and phasing will be sequenced around residents, what the moisture survey or due diligence scope includes, and how change orders for wet deck or insulation are priced. Ask for current certificates of insurance naming the ownership entity as additional insured.
