About

Mataska Roofing is a family owned roofing and general contracting business in Wichita Falls, working from 2409 Cambridge Avenue, Wichita Falls, TX 76308, with a mailing address at PO Box 4027. The phone is 940-691-5722 and the email is mataskaroofingllc@gmail.com. The company traces its start to 1979 under Bob Mataska Sr., and the Better Business Bureau records the business start date as 1 January 1979 with the current LLC incorporated in January 2018. That makes it one of the longer-established roofing names in Wichita County. The work covers residential and commercial roofing: inspections, repairs, full replacements and new installations, plus gutters, drip edge and rolled roofing. Materials named on the company's own services page include shingles, tile, flat roofing and metal panels. The company assists with insurance claims, offers free inspections and free estimates, and states a service warranty on its labour alongside the limited lifetime manufacturer warranty that comes with its shingle products. Beyond roofing it also takes general contracting and construction work. The Better Business Bureau lists Mataska Roofing, LLC as an Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 12 March 2018. The company's own site says it is licensed, bonded and insured. Texas issues no state roofing licence, so that wording refers to local registration, bonding and insurance rather than a state credential, and it is worth asking to see the current certificates. Wichita Falls sits in North Texas hail country, so ask what a Class 4 impact-rated shingle would cost and what discount your insurer gives for one.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

The Mataska team left a little while ago. Couldn’t be more pleased than I am with the whole team. Debbie (owner) and Thomas (field supervisor) are professional in their respective areas of responsibility Debbie even came out to the job site. Team worked together and seemed to enjoy each other. Left the area just as they found it. Actually, better. Will recommend the Mataska team hands down every chance I get.

Recently, Mataska Roofing completed the replacement of my roof and guttering. Their services were exceptional. The roof was installed in a single day, demonstrating remarkable efficiency and skill. The team members were highly professional, diligently working and leaving the site in pristine condition. Their work ethic left a lasting impression. The guttering installation was carried out by a young individual who exhibited exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to perfection. Debbie, who coordinated the project, was a pleasure to collaborate with. She provided comprehensive information and solutions to any inquiries or challenges. I highly recommend Mataska Roofing for all roofing requirements.

We recently hired Mataska Roofing to replace our roof that was severely damaged by recent storms — and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. From day one, Debbie and the team was professional, communicative, and trustworthy. During the estimate phase, they came out promptly, walked us through the condition of our roof, didn’t pressure us into work we didn’t need, and gave a clear, written breakdown of the cost. Their honesty and transparency stood out immediately. When the crew arrived for the work, they showed up on time and completed the installation within the timeframe promised, stayed on budget, and the quality of their workmanship was excellent! What truly impressed us was the clean-up: not a single stray nail or bit of debris left behind. The property was left as if they’d never been there. I had questions about paint and gutters and when I called they came to the house within 10 minutes to walk through it with me and address my questions/concerns. If you’re looking for a roofing company that stands by their work, communicates clearly, and delivers value, we highly recommend Mataska Roofing. They exceeded our expectations.

Mataska Roofing is top-notch! They recently replaced my roof, and I couldn’t be more impressed. It was the fastest roof installation I’ve ever seen—done in just 4 hours! The crew was efficient, professional, and left the area spotless. Customer service was excellent from start to finish. Debbie made the entire process smooth and stress-free. You can tell this is a well-established, locally owned and operated business that truly cares about its customers. I highly recommend Mataska Roofing for all your roofing needs. They exceeded my expectations in every way!

We used Mataska Roofing for a roof replacement and had a great experience! They were very knowledgeable about warranty information, roofing options, and colors. The work crew came exactly as scheduled and were very efficient and respectful. After our roof replacement there was no additional cleanup to be done, which is crazy. They even coordinated gutter and screen replacement with other contractors. I would gladly recommend them!

Frequently asked

The site says licensed, bonded and insured. What does licensed mean in Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer can hold one. In practice that phrase refers to local business registration where a city requires it, plus a surety bond and liability insurance. Ask Mataska Roofing for current certificates of general liability and workers compensation insurance, and ask that they come from the insurer or agent rather than as a photocopy.
What does the RCAT Member status mean on this listing?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. A plain Member pays dues and participates in the association. RCAT separately awards a Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that has to be earned through its own requirements. The two are not the same. This company is carried as a Member, and its own services page states membership in both the BBB and RCAT.
Is Mataska Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes. The Better Business Bureau lists Mataska Roofing, LLC of Wichita Falls as an Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 12 March 2018. The same BBB record shows the business start date as 1 January 1979 and the LLC incorporation date as January 2018.
How long has the company been in business?
The company says it was established by Bob Mataska Sr. in 1979 and has been family owned and operated for more than 45 years. The BBB record supports a 1979 start date. The present LLC entity was formed in 2018, which is a corporate restructure rather than a new business.
Should I ask for Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Wichita Falls?
It is worth pricing. North Texas sits in the hail corridor, and Wichita County takes damaging hail most years. Class 4 is the top UL 2218 impact rating, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier what the discount is worth against the extra material cost before deciding.
Do they handle insurance claims?
The company lists insurance claim assistance among its services and offers free inspections and estimates, which is normally how a hail claim starts. Note that under Texas law a contractor cannot pay, waive or rebate your insurance deductible, so treat any offer to absorb the deductible as a warning sign no matter who makes it.
What roofing materials does Mataska work with?
Shingles, tile, flat roofing and metal panels are all named on the company's own services page, along with rolled roofing, drip edge and gutter work. If you are choosing between a shingle replacement and a metal panel roof, ask for both to be quoted with the underlayment, ventilation and decking allowance written out.
What warranty comes with the work?
The company states a service warranty on its work and a limited lifetime warranty on its shingle products. Those are two different things. The manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty covers the shingle itself, while the workmanship warranty covers the installation. Ask for both to be stated in the contract with their lengths and what voids them.
Do I need a permit for a re-roof in Wichita Falls?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for roofing, so permitting and inspection are set locally. Check with the City of Wichita Falls or your county before work starts, and get it in writing that the contractor pulls any required permit in its own name rather than asking you to pull an owner permit.
What are the hours and how do I get in touch?
Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm, closed Sunday. Call 940-691-5722 or email mataskaroofingllc@gmail.com. The office is at 2409 Cambridge Avenue, Wichita Falls, TX 76308, with mail going to PO Box 4027, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.
