Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We recently had our roof replaced by Clean Cut Roofing through an insurance claim, and the entire experience was outstanding. We paid our deductible and let Clean Cut Roofing handle the rest, and they made what could have been a stressful process remarkably smooth. Our account manager, Josh Doyle, did an exceptional job. His communication was exactly what we hoped for—consistent enough to keep us informed every step of the way, but never pushy, overwhelming, or a hassle. We always knew what was happening and what to expect next. One thing that particularly impressed us was the level of care shown by the roofing crew. When rain was predicted the following day, the foreman came out that evening to make sure exposed sections of the roof were properly covered and protected. That kind of proactive service speaks volumes about the company’s commitment to its customers. We also experienced an electrical issue during the project when a breaker tripped. Although it ultimately turned out to be a completely unrelated short in our kitchen lighting, Josh personally climbed into our attic to investigate whether anything connected to the roofing work could have contributed to the problem. Our electrician later confirmed the roofing work had nothing to do with the issue, but Josh’s willingness to jump in and help troubleshoot showed a level of customer service that is increasingly rare. Another major benefit was that Josh handled the back-and-forth with our insurance company regarding payments, which saved us a great deal of time and frustration. Throughout the entire process, we felt genuinely well cared for. The roof looks great, the work was completed professionally, and we would not hesitate to recommend Clean Cut Roofing—especially Josh Doyle—to anyone needing roofing services.
We had a great experience working with Billy Terry at Clean Cut Roofing. Billy is incredibly easy to talk to and work with throughout the entire process. He brings a positive, energetic attitude to every interaction and genuinely takes the time to listen to his customers’ needs and concerns. What stood out most was how helpful and responsive he was from start to finish. He answered questions clearly, kept us informed, and made sure we felt comfortable with every decision. His professionalism, customer service, and commitment to doing things right made the entire experience stress-free. If you’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable, personable, and truly cares about his customers, I highly recommend Billy Terry at Clean Cut Roofing.
I was out of on medical leave when it was time for our roofing project at Silver Grizzly Coffee roasters to happen but Josh Doyle, the project manager, made the process seamless even while I was out of pocket. They replaced two previous bad flat roof jobs and he took detailed photos of every step of the removal and replacement showing how they fixed the issues. When I had recovered the project was done and the job site cleaned up perfectly. You couldn’t tell that anyone had been there except for the clean cut roof 😉.
I have worked with Clean Cut Roofing on several home projects so far. The first was a hail damaged roof. After contacting Clean Cut, Guy Stillwell came out a completed a thorough and fair estimate with multiple pics. He reviewed the damage and walked us through the lengthy insurance process. The work was completed professionally and on time. The clean up was perfect. Most recently, Guy and the Clean Cut team repaired and replaced multiple doors damaged in a storm. The trim and paint matched perfectly. Our next Clean Cut project is windows. Great job guys!
We needed gutters and as soon as I contacted Clean Cut Roofing they were very responsive. They sent out Josh Doyle and he was wonderful! He took photos of our house and when he responded with a quote we had visuals of where every downspout would be placed so there was no confusion. We have a super tall shop and I had not even thought about adding gutters to the top to help with all the water. When we were trying to decide between two different styles of gutters Josh again made sure I knew the differences and provided me photos of what they would look like. He answered all of my questions and made sure I knew what would happen. The installation crew came out and did a great job! We had extra metal on our roof and everywhere needed to be trimmed before gutters could be installed. They cleaned up everything after trimming back the metal. I would definitely recommend them again if you are needing gutters. Great job guys!
