Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration Not checked for Cedar ParkTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0598 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Called to have someone inspect a minor leak coming from the exhaust pipe onto our top floor. Shaun came in climbed up the roof. Upon inspecting the attic also, it was found that it was only the sealant that needs to be done from the outside of the roof. He took off the old sealant and put a new one for FREE. Also couple of screws. Very hard to find honest and hard working people. Really happy to leave this feedback. I offered him money for his work but he politely declined saying its not a big deal. They earned my TRUST. Very nice guy. Thank you!

Roof Jokers replaced my roof and I cannot say enough good things about them! Luis, my PM was very courteous prompt and knowledgeable. He truly cares about you and your home. Fernando and his roofing team, “top notch group of guys”! They really know the roofing business. Robert was on site all day to make sure everything went flawlessly, very courteous, sincere and made sure everything was clean and back in order when the crew finished! Wendy in the office co-ordinated everything from start to finish and again very friendly, and courteous, you can almost see her smile when talking to her on the phone! To Josh, you have a FANTASTIC group and should be proud of your business and your team! To those taking the time to read this review and need your roof taken care of, call Roof Jokers, you will not be disappointed! They truly have the customers best interests in mind. I give them 10 stars and look forward to being a customer for life. Thanks again to everyone at Roof Jokers, you are an exceptional group of people, it has been a pleasure and privilege to work with you!

Gabriel D’Antoni at The Roof Joker answered my text regarding a leak in my roof, promptly scheduled a time to inspect my roof to determine the issue, and solved the issue quickly. He provided photos to show the before and after the work that he did, was respectful and considerate, and answered all questions that I had. I will definitely reach out to Gabriel if I have future concerns with my roof.

Frequently asked

Is The Roof Joker licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no Texas roofer is state licensed. The trust markers that matter here are proof of insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT status, and any city registration. The Roof Joker holds the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which is earned through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas licensing program.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
An RCAT Member is a dues paying member of the association. An RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor has additionally passed RCAT's voluntary licensing program, which tests roofing knowledge and requires insurance and references. They are not the same thing, and the licensed credential is the stronger one.
Does The Roof Joker help with hail damage insurance claims?
Yes. Hail damage repair is one of its core services, and the company assists homeowners with insurance claim documentation. The homeowner files the claim with their own insurer; the roofer provides inspection findings, photos, and estimates to support it.
Are impact resistant shingles worth it in the Cedar Park and Austin area?
Often yes. Central Texas sits in hail country, and Class 4 impact rated shingles (the highest UL 2218 rating) resist hail better. Many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 roofs, so ask your insurance agent what credit applies before you choose materials.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Cedar Park?
Texas has no statewide building code for this; permitting is handled city by city. Check with your city's building or permitting department (Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, and so on) before work begins, and confirm who is responsible for pulling any required permit.
Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible?
No. Since 2019 it has been illegal in Texas for a contractor to waive, absorb, or rebate a homeowner's insurance deductible. A roofer who offers to eat your deductible is breaking the law, and that is a reason to walk away.
What should I verify before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance (and verify it with the insurer), a written scope of work and price, warranty terms in writing for both materials and workmanship, local references, and a physical business address. The Roof Joker's office is at 1464 E Whitestone Blvd, Suite 2201, Cedar Park.
Does The Roof Joker offer free inspections?
Yes, the company advertises free roof inspections and estimates, and it is open every day from 6am to 5pm, which is broader availability than most roofers offer.
Does The Roof Joker do commercial roofing?
Yes, commercial roofing is listed among its services alongside residential repair, replacement, gutters, and storm damage work.
Why should I avoid out of town storm chasers after a hailstorm?
After big hail events, crews from out of state canvass Texas neighborhoods, collect insurance money, and disappear before warranty issues surface. Choosing an established local company with a verifiable address, insurance, and credentials such as RCAT licensing makes it far more likely someone answers the phone years later.
