About

American Roofing is a family owned and family operated roofing contractor that has served Lubbock and the West Texas region since 1982, a founding date confirmed consistently by the company's own website, the Better Business Bureau, and RCAT's directory. It is now in its second generation of ownership under the Parsley family (Dale Parsley, President; Charla Parsley, Office Manager; Gina Parsley, Secretary), based at 8227 Valencia Ave. The company installs and repairs residential, multi-family, and commercial roofs, and holds Texas Commercial & Residential Roofing License #03-0280 under Dale Parsley (CRRL). It is a GAF Master Elite Contractor, a distinction GAF limits to roughly the top 3 percent of roofing contractors, and an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, working with GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Carlisle, Malarkey, and Decra roofing products. American Roofing has been a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating since 1986 and belongs to the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), RCAT, and the Lubbock Area Roofing Contractors Association (LARCA). This is a distinct company from 'American Roofing & Construction' in Corsicana, Texas, which has different ownership and a different city.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0280 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

American Roofing did an excellent job on my roof! couldn't ask for a better outcome. The roofers were very professional and courteous. I am extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend American Roofing for your next Roofing project. Thanks American Roofing for a job well done!

Chris McAllister was great to work with. When I called to get an estimate on my roof I told him up front that I had saved up the money to pay for my roof out of pocket just in case my insurance would not pay for it. He inspected my roof and i did have hail damage so I made an insurance claim and of course my insurance did not want to pay for it. At that point he could have just taken my money and I would have accepted that because I was prepared for that but instead he helped me fight my insurance for almost a year until we finally got my insurance to pay for it. He for sure went the extra mile to help me instead of just taking the money. Once it all got approved I went though them to also get my siding, soffit, and fascia replaced and painted. All of the work was done quickly and they did a great job. 100% would use American roofing again.

Reasonable price. Quality work. They even sent a man by the day after the job was completed to make sure all the nails and trash were picked up. (The installation crew had already done a pretty good job cleaning up)

Frequently asked

Is American Roofing (Lubbock) licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a statewide roofing license. American Roofing instead holds a local Commercial & Residential Roofing License (#03-0280) under Dale Parsley, who carries RCAT's separately earned CRRL (Licensed Roofing Contractor) credential.
Is American Roofing an RCAT Member or an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT's directory lists the company's contact, Dale Parsley, with the CRRL designation, meaning he holds RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, not just plain paid membership.
What does GAF Master Elite Contractor status mean?
Master Elite is GAF's top contractor certification, awarded to roughly the top 3 percent of roofing contractors nationally based on licensing, insurance, and reputation. American Roofing holds this status along with Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status.
Does American Roofing help with hail damage insurance claims?
Yes, the company offers insurance claims assistance for residential and commercial roofs, relevant to the hail-driven roofing claims common across West Texas.
Are impact-resistant Class 4 shingles available from American Roofing?
The company works with major shingle manufacturers including GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, and Malarkey; ask directly whether a specific Class 4 impact-resistant shingle line is available and whether it could affect an insurance premium.
Does American Roofing pull permits for roofing work in Lubbock?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permit rules are set locally. Confirm directly with American Roofing and the City of Lubbock whether a permit applies to a specific project.
What should I ask American Roofing before signing a contract?
Ask to see proof of current liability insurance, confirmation of License #03-0280, the manufacturer warranty terms for the chosen shingle or metal system, and the GAF or Owens Corning workmanship warranty available through their certified contractor status.
How long has American Roofing been in business?
The company has operated in Lubbock since 1982, a date confirmed by its own website, BBB records, and RCAT's directory, and has been BBB Accredited since 1986.
Is this the same company as American Roofing & Construction in Corsicana?
No. American Roofing in Lubbock and American Roofing & Construction in Corsicana are separate businesses in different Texas cities under different ownership; they should not be confused.
What areas does American Roofing serve?
American Roofing is based in and primarily serves Lubbock, Texas and the surrounding West Texas community.
