Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0292 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had an insurance claim for my roof, and Fernando and the 911 Exteriors team made the entire process completely stress-free from start to finish. From the very beginning, they explained exactly how the whole process would work, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I had been denied multiple times before, and another roofing company was unable to help me with my claim. I decided to trust Fernando and 911 Exteriors, and I’m so glad I did. They handled everything, worked directly with my insurance, and were able to get me approved for a full roof replacement along with new gutters. I truly appreciate their professionalism, clear communication, and dedication. I highly recommend Fernando and the 911 Exteriors team to anyone needing help with an insurance claim—they really know what they’re doing.

I can’t say enough great things about Abel and 911 Exteriors Roofing. From the very beginning, they stood out above the rest. I spoke with over 10 different contractors before making my decision, and choosing 911 Exteriors was easily the best call I could’ve made. Abel took the time to explain everything clearly, walked me through the entire process, and made sure I understood what to expect from start to finish. Their communication and customer service have been outstanding. Abel checked in regularly, always answered my questions, and made sure I never felt left in the dark. He even helped me work with my insurance, and thanks to his guidance, I was able to get my claim approved for a brand new roof. That alone made a world of difference. It’s rare these days to find a company that cares this much about their customers, but 911 Exteriors truly does. They’re professional, honest, and genuinely focused on doing what’s right—not just what’s easy. If you want a roofing company you can trust, that goes above and beyond, and actually delivers on what they promise, I highly recommend Abel and 911 Exteriors Roofing. I’m grateful I chose them, and I’d do it again without hesitation!

Frequently asked

Is 911 Exteriors licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a statewide roofing license, so there is no state license number to check. 911 Exteriors holds RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential through principal Ash Abraham, which is a separately earned status above plain RCAT membership.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
Plain RCAT Membership means a company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL/RRL/CRL) is separately earned and reflects additional vetting. 911 Exteriors is listed in the RCAT directory as a Licensed Roofing Contractor, not just a dues-paying member.
Is Irving in a coastal WPI-8 or TWIA windstorm zone?
No. WPI-8/TWIA wind pool coverage applies to Texas's 14 first-tier Gulf Coast counties. Dallas County, where Irving sits, is well inland and is not part of that program; hail is the bigger roofing risk in this part of North Texas.
Does hail matter more than wind for a roof in the Irving and Dallas area?
Yes. North and Central Texas, sometimes called Hail Alley, sees frequent severe hailstorms. 911 Exteriors offers impact-resistant Class 4 shingles and assists with hail insurance claims, which is worth discussing when planning a replacement in this region.
Do I need a city permit to replace my roof in Irving?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting and inspection requirements are set city by city. Homeowners in Irving should confirm current permit requirements with the City of Irving before work begins.
What insurance should a Texas roofing contractor carry?
At minimum, general liability and workers compensation insurance. Ask any roofer, including 911 Exteriors, for a current certificate of insurance naming your property before signing a contract.
Is 911 Exteriors GAF certified?
Yes. The company is listed as a GAF Master Elite contractor, a manufacturer certification tied to enhanced warranty eligibility such as GAF's Golden Pledge warranty.
What roofing materials does 911 Exteriors install?
The company installs asphalt composition shingles, impact-resistant Class 4 shingles, metal roofing including stone-coated steel, tile and concrete tile, and single-ply TPO/EPDM and built-up systems for commercial buildings.
Does 911 Exteriors help with insurance claims after storm damage?
Yes, the company advertises insurance claim assistance as part of its hail and storm damage repair services.
What should I ask a roofer like 911 Exteriors before signing a contract?
Ask for proof of insurance, a written scope of work and price, manufacturer certification details, an expected timeline, and whether the crew is direct employees or subcontracted. Get everything in writing before paying a deposit.
