About

Beldon Roofing & Remodeling, which brands publicly as BELDON Roofing Company, has operated from 5039 West Avenue in San Antonio since 1946 and is one of the oldest roofing firms in Bexar County. It began as Beldon Roofing and Supply and grew into a fourth generation family business running both a residential division and a large commercial roofing operation. Residential work covers free roof inspections, repairs, and full replacements in asphalt shingle, tile, and metal systems. The company holds GAF Master Elite certification and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor status, and names Ludowici, Berridge, Boral Tile, Englert, IB Roofing, and McElroy among its material partners. On the commercial side it offers replacements, repairs, new construction roofing, 24 hour emergency response, and a RoofExtend preventative maintenance program. The company says it has completed more than 100,000 projects. This is the San Antonio entity, confirmed by the 5039 West Avenue address and the (210) 341-3100 main line that appear on beldon.com, on the RCAT directory listing, and on the BBB profile. Beldon is the Official Roofer of the San Antonio Spurs and has been recognised as a Top Workplace by the San Antonio Express News and a Best Place to Work by the San Antonio Business Journal. Its published Texas service area pages centre on San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country and I-35 corridor, with commercial reach extending to Austin and Houston and, more recently, marketed coverage well beyond Texas.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0064 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

A large tree fell on our roof during high winds. It damaged part of the roof and soffit. They had installed my roof several years ago and I never had any problems with it. Beldon sold to another big company and now just does commercial work. Since I was a past customer they agreed to make the repairs. They did a excellent job repairing the damage to the roof and Soffit area. Quality work. Too bad they no longer do residential roofs.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of working with Beldon roofing. We had a large hail storm here at our home last April, 2024 which caused us to have to replace the shingle roof on our large 2 story house. To further complicate the situation, we have 102 solar panel system that had to be taken down beforehand and green reinstalled after the new roof was replaced. Beldon helped us every step of the way providing excellent communication between us, our insurance adjuster, and our solar company. Their team of workers were amazing. They were absolutely the hardest working men I’ve ever seen working 2 long hard days in the extremely hot heat of July. They provided us a beautiful new roof that looks amazing and will provide us comfort and safety for many years to come. I’d like to recognize the outstanding team Beldon members that I worked with Phillip Garcia, Hector Cisineros,Jay Benavides, and Jennifer Alcorta. We would highly recommend using Beldon Roofing Company for all your roofing needs. Thank you, Richard and Ka Coben

I’m a simple truck driver, however I managed companies at high level and worked as branch manager, department head and CEO. You may understand the level of a company by working with most vulnerable department. And it’s usually shipping and receiving. I have loaded from this company today with other 5 trucks and the loading crew were amazing and their support and cooperation, I’m not exaggerating, I haven’t seen anywhere in the USA in my last three years. I came to the wrong place, a kind Lady at the West Avenue location, advised me the road and helped to organize my late arrival. Amazing professionalism and loyalty and respect to customers, truck drivers. My load was heavier bc our truck tools are not precise so I came back and in 5 minutes David fix the problem. You may get any load from this company without thinking! That’s so simple to make a company better looking and smart and that’s very easy to make truck drivers happy. Thank you so much Beldon👏

RUN from this company. They have ZERO integrity these days. They not only did roofing but windows and doors at one time. Now they no longer install windows and doors they have left all customers who used them in the wind to figure out how to fix the problems their company created. We spent almost $14k for windows and doors that leak and have wind coming in around them and have stated they no longer do residential work. If I could give them a negative rating I would. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

Kyle was the project manager and was very professional and knowledgeable. The two gentlemen who preformed the work were thorough and cleaned up well after themselves. Everything went great and I’m pleased with the work. Attached are before and after pictures.

Frequently asked

Is Beldon licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so that question has no yes answer for any Texas roofer. What can be checked is voluntary credentialing and insurance. The RCAT directory lists Beldon Roofing & Remodeling as a Member at 5039 West Avenue, San Antonio, with Commercial & Residential Roofing License #03-0064 shown against the listing. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance regardless of a company's size or age.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas runs two separate things. Membership is open to roofing companies that pay dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, carrying designations such as CRRL, RRL, and CRL, is earned separately through RCAT's licensing programme and is held by a named individual. Beldon appears in the RCAT directory as a Member. Do not treat either as a government licence, because Texas does not issue one.
Do I need windstorm certification for a roof in San Antonio?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certification applies only to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties in the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association territory. Bexar County is inland and is not one of them, so a San Antonio roof replacement does not require a WPI-8 inspection or certificate.
What weather actually damages roofs in Bexar County?
Central Texas sits at the southern end of the hail belt, and San Antonio takes damaging hail and severe thunderstorm wind most often in spring. Long, hot summers also age asphalt shingles faster here than in cooler climates. Beldon's own residential page points to intense heat, high humidity, severe storms, and heavy rainfall as the local challenges.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles a good idea in San Antonio?
They are worth pricing. Class 4 shingles are tested to resist impact from larger hailstones, and many Texas homeowners insurance carriers offer a premium discount for them. The discount varies by carrier, so get the number from your own insurer before you decide whether the upgrade pays back over the life of the roof.
Can a contractor waive or pay my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a roofing contractor from paying, waiving, rebating, or absorbing your property insurance deductible. If a company offers to make your deductible disappear, that is a reason to end the conversation rather than a discount.
Who handles the permit for a San Antonio roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide residential building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection rules are set locally. The City of San Antonio, Schertz, Helotes, Hollywood Park, and unincorporated Bexar County each run their own process. Confirm in writing who pulls the permit, whether the fee is in your price, and whether a final inspection is scheduled.
What does the RoofExtend program cover?
RoofExtend is Beldon's own preventative maintenance program for commercial roofs, offered alongside its commercial replacement, repair, and new construction work. Because programme terms are set by contract rather than published in full, ask for the written scope, visit frequency, and what is and is not included before signing up.
Does Beldon work outside San Antonio?
Yes. Beldon's published Texas service area pages cover San Antonio neighbourhoods plus surrounding communities including Helotes, Hollywood Park, Schertz, San Marcos, Kyle, Gruene, Blanco, and Jourdanton. Its commercial materials name San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, and the company now markets commercial coverage well beyond Texas. If you are outside the San Antonio metro, confirm which division and which crew would actually run your job.
What should I check before signing with any long established roofing company?
Age alone is not a warranty. Ask for a current certificate of insurance sent by the insurance agent, get the workmanship warranty term and exclusions in writing, confirm whether crews are in house or subcontracted, and confirm the shingle or membrane brand, product line, and impact rating in the scope. With a company that has changed corporate structure or ownership at any point, also ask in writing who stands behind the workmanship warranty today.
