About

Becker Roofing & Exteriors is a family owned roofing and exterior contractor working out of 8376 Davis Blvd, Suite 249 in North Richland Hills. The company was founded in September 2018 by Sean Becker and serves Northeast Tarrant County and the wider Dallas Fort Worth area with residential roofing, commercial roofing, and exterior work including gutters, siding, and painting. Sean Becker's background sits on both the roofing and the insurance side of storm work. RCAT lists him with the CRRL Licensed Roofing Contractor credential under Commercial & Residential Roofing License #03-0235, and the company's About page adds independent adjuster and public adjuster experience, Xactimate Level 2 certification, and an FAA drone pilot licence used for documenting storm damage. Becker is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since October 2018. The company markets an inspection first approach rather than a proposal first sales pitch, and publishes homeowner education material including a book titled Roofs That Last and a membership program of the same name covering annual inspections and maintenance planning. Sean Becker was named to The Dallas Morning News Watchdog Nation Hall of Fame in 2023.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0235 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Becker Roofing has done roof replacement/repairs multiple times for me over the years, and they have consistently delivered outstanding results. They are dependable, efficient, and extremely precise in their work. Their honesty and professionalism set them apart, and I always feel confident recommending them to anyone in need of a reliable roofing contractor.

Sean was very helpful in assisting with my roof replacement after my insurance company declined the claim. It took a while but we finally accomplished getting my home a new roof and Sean was there throughout the entire process. It's wrong that I had to go through this with my insurance company but Sean took that off my plate and followed through every step of the way. Highly recommend.

Becker Roofing has done two roof replacements in Arlington, Texas for me. They were knowledgeable, professional, and fast. They coordinated with the insurance so I didn’t have to. They did what they said they would do and I couldn’t be happier.

Everything was great. Daniel Harding was super helpful and the crew was fantastic. They were very polite from measuring the old roof to clean up at the end. This was replacing a 25 year old metal roof, so there was a lot of work to do! Hurst, TX

Frequently asked

Is Becker Roofing & Exteriors licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in Texas can hold one. What exists instead is voluntary credentialing. RCAT lists Becker Roofing and Exteriors, LLC with the CRRL Licensed Roofing Contractor credential under Commercial & Residential Roofing License #03-0235, held by Sean Becker. That is a real, separately earned credential and it is a step above plain RCAT membership.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two different things. Any roofing company can join as a Member by paying dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (designations such as CRRL, RRL, and CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's licensing program. Becker holds the licensed credential, not just membership. When you compare contractors, check which one they actually have.
How do I verify a Texas roofer's insurance before signing?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing both general liability and workers compensation, and ask that the certificate be sent to you directly by the insurance agent rather than handed over as a PDF by the salesperson. Confirm the policy is current on the day work starts and that the named insured matches the legal entity on your contract, which here is Becker Roofing and Exteriors, LLC.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Tarrant County?
North Texas sits in the part of the state that takes the most damaging hail, and Tarrant County gets hit regularly. Class 4 shingles are tested to resist impact from larger hailstones and many Texas homeowners insurance carriers offer a premium discount for them. Becker's own FAQ discusses Class 3 and Class 4 impact-resistant options and the insurance discounts that can come with them. Ask your carrier what discount it actually applies before you decide.
Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating, or absorbing an insurance deductible on a property insurance claim. A company offering to do so is putting both of you at risk. Becker's website states the same position. Treat any deductible offer as a reason to walk away.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in North Richland Hills?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for residential roofing, so permitting and inspection are set city by city and county by county. North Richland Hills, Keller, Southlake, Hurst, and Fort Worth each run their own process. Ask your contractor in writing who pulls the permit, whether the cost is included, and whether a city inspection is scheduled at the end.
What services does Becker Roofing & Exteriors offer beyond roofing?
The company lists residential and commercial roofing alongside exterior work: gutters, siding, and exterior painting. On the commercial side it lists flat roofing, TPO, roof coatings, repairs, and maintenance. It also offers free roof inspections and emergency roof repair after storms.
Which areas does the company serve?
Becker works across Northeast Tarrant County and nearby North Texas communities, including North Richland Hills, Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, Grapevine, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Watauga, Haltom City, Saginaw, Roanoke, Trophy Club, Azle, North Fort Worth, Fort Worth, Arlington, Flower Mound, and Argyle.
What is the difference between a manufacturer warranty and a workmanship warranty?
A manufacturer warranty covers defects in the roofing material itself and is issued by the shingle maker. A workmanship warranty covers the quality of the installation and is issued by the contractor. Most Texas roof failures after a storm come down to installation detail, so get the workmanship warranty term, what it covers, and what voids it in writing. Becker is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which is the manufacturer programme side of that equation.
What should I ask a North Texas roofer before I sign anything?
Ask for the certificate of insurance direct from the agent, ask whether they hold an RCAT licensed credential or only membership, ask who pulls the city permit, ask for the workmanship warranty in writing with its term and exclusions, ask whether the crew is in house or subcontracted, and ask for the full scope with shingle brand, line, and impact rating spelled out. Never sign a contingency agreement that locks you in before you have seen a priced scope.
