About

Hunter's Precision Construction & Roofing, Inc trades publicly as Precision Construction & Roofing and runs its main office at 7605 Davis Blvd in North Richland Hills, Tarrant County. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started in 2000 and BBB Accredited since October 2008 with an A+ rating. The company describes itself as family operated across three generations of the Hunter family, and its own site lists Eric Hunter as the principal contact on the RCAT record. Work spans residential re-roofs, commercial low slope systems and a specialty division built around slate, clay tile and copper, including historic restoration. The company advertises drone assisted roof diagnostics and 24/7/365 crews for emergency and storm response. Manufacturer credentials listed on the company's About page include GAF/ELK Factory Certified, CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster, Versico, Duro-Last, DECRA and DaVinci, and it appears on the Ludowici Crown Roofer directory at the Elite Crown Roofer tier and in the National Slate Association member directory. Homeowners should still ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing, since Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Precision Construction and Roofing just finished a total roof replacement on my 108-year-old home. I've had a lot of contractors over the 44 years I have lived in this home, but I've never had such a fabulous outcome. Matt and Ed headed up the project, and their crew was here every day (except Sunday) and they worked from sunrise to sunset, cleaning up every day before they left. I'm not sure how many clay tiles they put on my roof, but it was a huge number since my house is over 4700 square feet. When I was outside, my neighbors would walk by and stop to visit with me and rave about how awesome the roof looked. Precision Construction and Roofing is the best contractor I've ever worked with. I recommend anyone who is looking for roof replacement to make their first call to Precision Construction and Roofing!

Where do I even possibly begin??!! One of the most impeccable restorations of a 100 yr old Southern Grand Dame! Not only did they travelntonthe Carolinas for this project, but spent months of meticulous planning and installation on a level that rivals the original builders of the Biltmore House! The quality of work the refinement, the attention to detail to match what was previously installed 100 years ago. Yes, you read that correctly..... they are installing the first new roof on Stratford Towers since it was built in 1925 and lived in for more than 50 years by my late Mama Joanie. The new stewards of her former summer house is getting the best care humanly possible! Bravo team! I look forward to recommending you to more people and the neighbors are taking notice!!!

When a hail storm hit our home in March 2025, we felt stuck. Our 60+-year-old Roof was shattered and no one wanted to touch it as it was made of asbestos. We also faced restrictions as the home is on the national historic registry, we were deeply overwhelmed. Drew Klass of Precision Construction And Roofing knocked on our door on March 21, 2025 and has not stopped working for us since. He has advocated for the replacement of our roof in ways I never knew a contractor would. He has communicated extensively with our insurance and mortgage companies, presented materials at a meeting with the local historical society, ensured our clay ridge caps were rebuilt to match the original, taken his own time to come and patch holes in our roof, orchestrated the removal and abatement of the asbestos, and never failed to update me every step of the way. He is an expert and has been such a blessing to work with. Thank you, Drew and Precision Construction And Roofing.

I used Precision Construction and Roofing for my replacement roof project which involved insurance claim and an HOA. Our French inspired home had a wood shingled roof, copper gutters, and a flat roof carport. The roof has a steep pitch. Also, the home sits on a hilled lot with a three-story backyard profile. They took all the appropriate work scope planning and safety precautions to address these unique issues. Matt Melrose and Ed Robinson of Precision Construction and Roofing provided excellent advice on roofing material alternatives to our wood shake roof. They helped us compare composite shake roof vendor products from DaVinci, Brava and others. Matt and Ed were very patient with us picking roof vendor’s materials, and colors. They provided us roof material samples, sent us prior roof install pictures, and gave us addresses of recent installs in the Dallas - Fort Worth area. Matt and Ed also helped us convince the HOA to use a composite shake roof which was outside of their HOA guidelines. They even went to the trouble of meeting with the HOA design committee and the architect and convinced them of the composite shake product’s realistic profile, material quality, and warranty features. Significantly, the new composite shake product had longer warranty and superior wind and hail fire protection (than a wood shake roof) which reduced our insurance cost by over 50%. Additionally, Matt was extremely helpful interfacing with the insurance company. His detailed bid (with supporting aerial photos and material details), and his engineering expertise were particularly important to securing the adjuster’s approval the work scope and bid estimates (despite numerous attempts by the insurance adjuster to reduce the covered costs). His technical abilities and prior experience interfacing with insurance companies were key to successful resolution. The installation team was highly experienced in a composite material roof which had extensive changes in roof lines and pitch. They were courteous, conscientious, and meticulous. The job site was kept clean and organized. The project cost was exactly as bid without any surprises. Overall, Precision Construction exceeded our expectations in terms of experience, project support, and customer service. They have large company scale but a small company mindset. I highly recommend that you consider Precision Construction and Roofing for your roofing project. Kevin Weiss 3749 Riverhills View Drive Fort Worth, Texas 76109

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A+ Experience – Highly Recommend After sustaining significant slate roof damage from the May 16th tornado, Ed and Grant were absolutely outstanding. Ed and his team were on site quickly, thoroughly documenting all damage and helping us clearly understand our insurance policy, our rights, and the best path forward. Their guidance was well worth the investment. Communication was clear, consistent, and effective throughout the entire process. Response times and turnaround were remarkable, and when any issues arose, they were corrected immediately without hesitation. Ed and his team consistently went above and beyond for us as customers, ensuring the project was handled correctly and professionally from start to finish. An A+ job all around—I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone dealing with complex roof or insurance-related damage.

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer in Tarrant County can be state licensed. The practical checks are a current certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurer, voluntary RCAT status, and any registration your city requires.
What does RCAT Member mean, and how is it different from RCAT Licensed?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Plain membership means the company joins and pays dues. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and requirements. They are not the same, and a member is not automatically licensed.
What is this company's RCAT status?
The RCAT directory lists Hunter's Precision Construction & Roofing, Inc as a member contractor, with the North Richland Hills office at 7605 Davis Blvd and Eric Hunter as the contact. Treat that as membership rather than the separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential.
Is the North Richland Hills office a real local office?
Yes. The company's own contact page, its BBB profile and its RCAT record all give 7605 Davis Blvd, North Richland Hills, with the local number (817) 519-8985. This is the company's main office, not a satellite mailbox.
What roofing materials does the company install?
Its site lists composition asphalt shingles, metal, slate, clay tile, copper and wood shake on the residential side, and TPO, EPDM, SBS modified bitumen, built-up roofing and tapered insulation on the commercial side.
Does the company handle hail damage and insurance claims?
Yes. Storm damage repair and emergency service are listed services, and the company describes supporting customers from the initial estimate and claim through to final inspection. Always read your own policy for deductible and depreciation terms before filing.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
North and Central Texas sit in the part of the state that takes the most hail, and Tarrant County is squarely in it. Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested to resist hail strikes better than standard shingles, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you choose.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in North Richland Hills?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for this, so permitting and inspection rules are set city by city. Confirm the current requirement with the North Richland Hills building department and make sure your contract says who pulls and pays for the permit.
How do I verify a Texas roofer's insurance?
Ask for general liability and workers compensation certificates and have them sent to you directly from the insurance agent, not forwarded by the contractor. Check the policy dates cover your project window and that the company name on the certificate matches the name on your contract.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the full scope in writing including decking replacement rates, underlayment, ventilation and flashing. Ask who the on site supervisor is, whether crews are employees or subcontractors, what the workmanship warranty covers and for how long, and how change orders are priced. Texas law lets you cancel a storm related roofing contract within a short window if your claim is denied, so ask how that clause is worded.
