About

Vertex Roofing and General Contractors is a roofing and general contracting company that brands itself online as Vertex Roofers and General Contracting. Texas has no state roofing license, so the checkable marks on this company are its BBB record and its RCAT registration. The LLC was incorporated on 20 August 2020 and has been a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating since 14 September 2020. BBB lists John "Buddy" Hull as owner and LLC managing member. The RCAT record behind this listing carries a Frisco address, 5757 Main Street Suite 200, in the Tower at Frisco Square. That address sits in Collin County, which confirms the county on file. The company's own contact page, however, does not list Frisco at all. It publishes a Central DFW office at 2550 Pacific Avenue in Dallas, a South DFW office in Alvarado, a Houston office on Post Oak Boulevard, and an Atlanta, Georgia office. BBB shows the Dallas Pacific Avenue address as the business address. Homeowners in Frisco should expect to be served from the Dallas office rather than from a staffed Frisco storefront. The work on offer goes well beyond roofing. The site advertises commercial and residential roofing alongside commercial interior build out, commercial renovation, residential interior and exterior remodeling, site survey and planning, architectural and engineering services, metal buildings, barndominium and storage complex builds, patios and pergolas, and emergency tarping with water remediation. The company says it provides a labor warranty and passes through the maximum manufacturer materials warranty. It links to Atlas Roofing and Solar Royal as partners, which is the company's own statement and not a verified certification tier. Published hours are Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, closed Sunday.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had a great experience working with Nicolas Amparan. From start to finish, he was professional, reliable, and clearly knew what he was doing. He took the time to explain everything, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable with the process. The quality of his work really stood out the roof looks excellent, and you can tell he takes pride in doing the job right. He showed up on time, stayed on schedule, and kept everything clean and organized throughout the project. If you’re looking for a roofer you can trust who delivers solid results and great service, I would definitely recommend Nicolas Amparan.

Vertice Roofing and General Contrartors LLC , is owne of the best contractors that I have dealt with since moving to Texas 20 years ago. First dealing with Will Caillet was a pleasure. He was able to give me a price to replace my roof shingles without knowing how much I made or what the insurance company was going to give me or what my deductable was. Within minutes we got a qoute that was real. I did my review and Vertice had a good reference with the BBB. and the products that they were offering were of good quality and came with some high recommendations. (Atlas roofing Shingles) Class 4 inpact rating. We scheduled the time of installation and the materials were delivered on time without any issues. The next morning without delay the crew was on the roof at 6:30 am and working. I watched them as they put tarps over my lawns and over my pool to catch any produts that feel. During the day they picked up any mess and sweep the lawn with magents to catch any nail that fell. The entire roof was complete by 6:30 and my property was clean and neat. More importantly we have a quality roof product done with quality workmnship. The delivery of the products and service were professional and friendly. I feel good that we have a product that will last and a company thatl will back the product and there workmanship. Thank you Will Caillet for your hard work and project experience.

Frequently asked

Is Vertex Roofing and General Contractors licensed by the State of Texas?
No, and neither is any other Texas roofer. Texas does not issue a state roofing license. What you can check instead is insurance, RCAT status, BBB record and any city or county registration. Vertex holds an RCAT registration and is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating.
Is the Frisco address a staffed office?
The Frisco address, 5757 Main Street Suite 200, appears on the RCAT registration and on third party listings, but it does not appear on the company's own contact page. The company publishes offices in Dallas, Alvarado, Houston and Atlanta. Treat Frisco as the registration address and expect service from the Dallas office.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as being licensed?
No. RCAT has two separate things. Plain membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and experience. Vertex is listed as a Member, not as a Licensed Roofing Contractor.
What is Class 4 impact resistant shingle, and does it matter in Collin County?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. North Texas sits in the hail belt, so a Class 4 shingle is usually the single most useful upgrade on a Collin County reroof. Many Texas insurers also offer a premium discount for it, so ask your carrier before you choose the shingle.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Frisco?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is handled city by city. Frisco requires a roofing permit for residential reroofs and the contractor should pull it. Ask in writing who is pulling the permit and who schedules the final inspection before you sign.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance sent directly by the insurer or agent, the exact shingle brand, line and impact rating, the length and terms of the workmanship warranty separate from the manufacturer warranty, who pulls the permit, and whether the price changes if the insurance scope changes.
Does Vertex handle hail insurance claims?
The company advertises emergency tarping and water remediation and lists storm damage repair among its BBB categories. Confirm directly how they handle claim documentation and adjuster meetings, because the specific claims process is not spelled out on their website.
How long is the workmanship warranty?
The website says the company provides a labor warranty and passes through the maximum manufacturer materials warranty, but it does not publish the term length. Get the number of years in writing on the contract, and get the manufacturer warranty registration confirmation after the job.
Can one company really do both my roof and an interior remodel?
Vertex advertises both, along with architectural and engineering services and metal building construction. If you are bundling work, ask for separate line item pricing for the roof so you can compare it against roofing only bids, and confirm the crews doing the interior work are the company's own or named subcontractors.
Should I worry about windstorm certification here?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certification and TWIA coverage apply to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties. Frisco, Dallas and Collin County are inland, so windstorm certificates are not part of a reroof here. Hail and impact resistance are the relevant concerns instead.
