About

Stronghold Restoration and Roofing is a locally owned residential and commercial roofing and restoration contractor based at 4636 E NASA Parkway in Seabrook, on the Clear Lake side of Harris County. It has been trading since 2017 and works across the greater Houston and Galveston area, with storm damage and insurance claim work as a stated focus. The company covers roof replacement, roof repair, and inspections on both houses and commercial buildings, flat and low slope systems, and storm and water damage restoration. Its exterior work extends past the roof to gutters, siding, and chimneys, and it also handles interior repairs after water intrusion and offers financing. That combination is useful on the upper Texas coast, where a single hurricane or squall line tends to damage more than the shingles. Its manufacturer credentials hold up at the manufacturers themselves. GAF's own contractor directory lists it as a GAF certified roofer, and CertainTeed's own contractor profile shows it as a ShingleMaster PREMIER contractor, active since 2017. The BBB has accredited it since January 2018 with an A plus rating, and it is also listed by the Houston Area Roofing Contractors Association. Two wording points are worth flagging honestly. The company describes itself as an RCAT licensed contractor and as a CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster, while the RCAT directory shows plain membership rather than the separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, and CertainTeed's own directory shows the PREMIER tier. This listing follows the directories.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I highly recommend Stronghold Roofing! The entire process was quick, smooth, and stress-free. I had to go through TWIA, and Andrew, Wanda and the Stronghold team handled everything from start to finish. They guided me through the process, helped with all the paperwork, and made dealing with TWIA incredibly easy. Once I signed the contract and paid my deductible, they scheduled the work quickly and completed my roof in no time. The crew was professional, efficient, and did an excellent job. My new roof looks amazing, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you, Andrew, Wanda and Stronghold Roofing, for making what could have been a complicated process so easy. I truly appreciate your hard work and outstanding customer service!

We recently went through a hail storm and had damage to our roof. Jason was amazing and extremely helpful from beginning to end. He helped us with making the call to the insurance company, and was present when the adjuster came for inspection. Thanks to his efforts we were approved for a roof. Jason explained every step and the material that would be used and answered any questions we had. The crew that came was amazing and by the end of the day you didn't even know they were there. Jason followed up the following day to make sure we were satisfied. Jason & Stronghold Thank you!

The entire experience with Stroghold Restoration was simply fantastic and worry free. Jason, sales was informative and not pushy. Their costs were fully outlined and seemed to include everything so there were no surprises. As the project neared, they scheduled a meeting to discuss delivery, what was expected of us & them. As outlined by Haley in our mtg., shingles and material were dropped off and the crew arrived exactly as stated. The project was 21/2 days, we have a large roof. Post the work on the roof, special care was dedicated to clean up. Well done team - Start to Finish. My wife & I highly recommend Strongholds, Jason & Haley could not have been more helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you Stronghold - job well done.

Stronghold did an excellent job on our roof replacement! They were able to navigate us through a complicated insurance process where our claim was originally denied, but ended up getting the insurance company to take on the roof cost (minus deductible of course). I had given up on the prospect of the insurance company helping us before Stronghold got involved. Also, the roof installation process was extremely professional and the sales team was onsite for most of it to ensure that the work was done properly. They even threw in some unplanned add-ons like a dryer vent that was installed improperly by the builder as well as some additional ventilation that was not obvious before work began. The roof came out perfect, and the cleanup was amazingly thorough. I have found exactly one roof nail on the ground since the work was completed! My wife and I are very particular with contractor work, and we have very high expectations. Stronghold met every one of them. I would highly recommend using Stronghold to help with anyone looking for a roof replacement!

Stronghold was great to work with on our new roof. Anna and Brittany was wonderful and always available to answer our thousands of questions. They kept in contact and updated us on everything that was being done. Stronghold installed a new roof and attic vents to our home and new roof, gutters and sofits to our detached garage. Everything was done quick, clean and professionally. Working with Anna and Brittany was easy, comfortable and truly enjoyable through every step of the project. Thanks for the new roof we love it!! Frequently asked

Is Stronghold Restoration and Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so no Texas roofer holds one. What you can verify instead is general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, association membership, and any registration your city requires. Note that the company's own materials use the phrase RCAT licensed contractor, while the RCAT directory shows it as a member.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
A Member pays dues and belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is earned separately through testing and documented experience, and the two are not interchangeable. The RCAT directory record for this company shows membership, so that is what is reported here.
Are the GAF and CertainTeed credentials real?
Yes, and both were checked at the manufacturer rather than on the company's own site. GAF's contractor directory lists the company as a GAF certified roofer. CertainTeed's contractor profile shows ShingleMaster PREMIER status, active since 2017. Note the company's own marketing says Select ShingleMaster, which is a different CertainTeed tier from what CertainTeed's directory shows.
Does WPI-8 windstorm certification apply at this company's Seabrook location?
No. WPI-8 is the Texas Department of Insurance windstorm inspection certificate used in the 14 first tier coastal counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Seabrook is in Harris County, which is not one of those 14 counties, so a roof at the company's own address is not a WPI-8 job. If your property is in Galveston, Brazoria, Chambers, or another first tier county, ask any contractor directly how they handle the WPI-8 inspection process there.
Seabrook is on Galveston Bay. What should a roof there actually be built to handle?
Hurricane force gusts and long hours of wind driven rain. That puts the emphasis on nailing pattern and nail count, a properly sealed deck or peel and stick underlayment at eaves and valleys, starter strip and hip and ridge rated for high wind, and correctly fastened drip edge and edge metal, since wind uplift usually starts at the perimeter. Ask what wind rating the specific shingle is being installed to and what the nailing schedule will be.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof around Seabrook or Houston?
Usually yes, and the rules differ by jurisdiction. Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so Seabrook, Houston, Kemah, League City, and unincorporated Harris County each set their own permit and inspection requirements. Confirm with the local permit office and have the contractor pull the permit under the company's name.
Is hail a real concern this far south, or is it only a North Texas problem?
Hail is worst in the North and Central Texas corridor, but the upper Gulf Coast still gets damaging hail with spring squall lines and hurricane outer bands. Class 4 impact resistant shingles, the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test, are a reasonable option here and often earn an insurance discount. Ask your own carrier what that discount is on your policy.
Do they do commercial and flat roofs, or only houses?
Both. The company's profile describes residential and commercial roof replacement, repair, and inspections, and flat roofing systems specifically, which matters for the low slope buildings common across the Clear Lake and Bay Area commercial strips.
Who controls my insurance claim after a storm?
You do. In Texas the policyholder owns the claim. A contractor can inspect, document, meet the adjuster, and submit supplements, but the settlement is between you and your carrier. Keep the carrier's scope and estimate in your own file, and avoid signing anything that assigns your claim proceeds to a contractor.
What should I ask before signing a contract on the coast?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurance agent. Ask whether crews are in house or subcontracted. Get the shingle line, underlayment, ventilation, fastening schedule, and the exact manufacturer warranty being registered written into the contract. Ask who pulls the permit. And ask what happens to your deposit if a named storm shuts the job down mid build.
