About

Despite the general-sounding name, Skywall Construction is a roofing contractor. Roofing is not a side line for the company, it is effectively the whole business. Its own site is organised entirely around roof services, and BBB lists it under roofing contractors. It is based at 8101 Cameron Road, Suite 206 in Austin, Travis County, and describes itself as a family-owned, locally operated firm serving Central Texas. BBB records the business as started and incorporated on 16 October 2020, and it has been a BBB Accredited Business since 18 May 2021 with an A+ rating. The company's About page names Eric Meador as chief executive and Bre Meador as chief administrative officer, alongside three project consultants. The service list covers roof inspections, repairs and replacements, residential and commercial roofing, shingle, metal, tile and low-slope systems, gutter installation, skylight replacement and storm restoration. Published coverage runs across Austin, Bastrop, Buda, Cedar Creek, Cedar Park, Del Valle, Elgin, Georgetown, Hutto, Kyle, Leander, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Smithville. No manufacturer certification, such as a GAF or Owens Corning programme designation, was found in any manufacturer's own contractor directory, so no such credential is claimed here.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Was very pleased with the professionalism and responsiveness. Did a great job of keeping me posted on progress as well as coordinating with my insurance company. Found some key items the adjuster had missed, and got those added to the insurable repairs without any issues. Overall, they are great to work with!

I have used Skywall Construction for 10 years on many projects and can honestly say this is an amazing company. They do quality work, at fair prices, and most importantly you can count on them to do the right thing, every time. They stand behind their work and their service level and communication is second to none. They do a variety of projects but specialize in roof work, where they really shine. Eric, the owner, is a high-quality guy and never tries to strongarm you into buying a new roof when you dont really need one. He will shoot you straight. Quality contractors are rare these days - give these guys a try!

The owners at Skywall Construction are amazing!!!! I've worked with them quite a few times now and would not hesitate to recommend them to my own clients. As a professional inspector and home builder I'm pretty picky, especially with roofing installations. Skywall focuses on quality at every step and is incredibly knowledgeable with their line of work!

I had my roof replaced following some storm damage. Everything was handled promptly and professionally. Mr Keefer was always available if I had any questions or concerns and he kept me apprised of the project through every step. I highly recommend Skywall Construction

Not only did Skywall do a quick and great job with replacing the roof on my house after a hail storm, they were extremely helpful with resolving issues with my insurance company. Fast and friendly service is always welcome. I look forward to working with them again for any future construction jobs.

Frequently asked

The name says Construction. Does Skywall actually do roofing?
Yes, and it is essentially all the company does. Every service page on its website is a roof service, covering inspections, repair, replacement, residential and commercial roofing, metal and low-slope systems, gutters, skylight replacement and storm restoration. BBB also categorises the business under roofing contractors.
Where is it based and what does it cover?
The office is at 8101 Cameron Road, Suite 206, Austin, TX 78754, in Travis County. Its published coverage runs across Austin, Bastrop, Buda, Cedar Creek, Cedar Park, Del Valle, Elgin, Georgetown, Hutto, Kyle, Leander, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Smithville.
What does RCAT Member status mean?
It means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. It is not a licence. RCAT separately awards a Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that is earned through testing and insurance verification, and plain membership is not the same thing.
Is it BBB accredited?
Yes. BBB records Skywall Construction as a BBB Accredited Business since 18 May 2021, with an A+ rating.
How long has the company been trading and who runs it?
BBB records the business as started and incorporated on 16 October 2020. Its About page names Eric Meador as chief executive officer and Bre Meador as chief administrative officer, plus three project consultants.
Does it do anything other than roofs?
The adjacent work it lists is gutter installation and skylight replacement, both of which are ordinary roof-related trades. It does not advertise general remodelling or ground-up construction.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in the Austin area?
Often, yes. Central Texas gets damaging hail most springs, and Class 4 is the top rating under the UL 2218 impact test. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a qualifying roof. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you choose the product, because it varies.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Austin?
Texas has no statewide code enforcement, so this is decided city by city. The City of Austin requires a permit for most roof replacements, and neighbouring jurisdictions such as Round Rock, Pflugerville and Bastrop each have their own rules. Confirm with the local building department and make sure the contractor pulls the permit in its own name.
Does the company hold manufacturer certifications?
None were found in any manufacturer's own contractor directory. Its site references Owens Corning shingles as a product it can install, which is a product mention rather than a programme designation. If a manufacturer tier matters to you, ask the company to point you to its listing on the manufacturer's own contractor locator.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Central Texas?
Ask for current general liability and workers compensation certificates and confirm them with the insurer. Get a written scope naming the exact shingle or system, the underlayment and the ventilation work. Ask the workmanship warranty length and who honours it. Ask whether crews are in-house or subcontracted, agree the payment schedule in advance, and do not pay in full before the work is finished and inspected.
