Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had an excellent experience with ROAM Solar and Roof. From start to finish, Garrett G (Sales), Garrett (on site PM), Luis Kaines (for interior repair) and Tony Rives (Billing) were professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They were transparent throughout the entire process—from the initial inspection to the work itself and the payment plan—so I always knew what to expect. Their team did a fantastic job not only on the roof project but also on the interior repairs. I was especially impressed with how organized they were, as well as their thorough setup, breakdown, and cleanup. We’re very happy with the results and truly pleased with the quality of work. I highly recommend ROAM Solar and Roof to anyone needing roofing services.

We’ve had two roofs put on by Roam Roof and for good reason. Our Roam rep Ben all the way to John has been very supportive to provide us with the best product and a timeline that meets our schedule. We have the best looking roof in the neighborhood. We also have enjoyed working with Ben and many of their staff members. If we need another Roof, they will be our first and only call.

Mr. Joseph and Sir John with ROAM and solar were highly recommended and within 5 minutes of talking with them I quickly knew why. I'm a direct straight shooter and that is exactly what they gave me. They had my business moments after that. Joseph was awesome throughout the process and was quick with his responses. They did exactly as discussed and the entire roof replacement went smoothly. The workers were timely, safe, clean and very careful not to cause any additional damage. Their prices are more than fair. ROAM has earned my highest recommendation and I'm more than happy to display their company sign for all to see.

Excellent, prompt, and professional service. We have been dealing with losing shingles randomly to wind throughout the past year, so we decided to have the roof replaced with Class 4 shingles for high wind resistance. Being nothing I have ever dealt with before, Mr. Taylor personalized the experience and worked directly with us to make sure our roof needs were immediately addressed. Scheduled/paid for on Friday and replaced on the following Wednesday (one day job). No messing around, high quality workmanship, and I have attached some pictures for proof. I highly recommend Roam Rood and Solar.

Harry Tayler with ROAM Roof & Solar was our representative and Project Manager for our job and couldn’t be more impressed with him and his crew’s professionalism and quality of their work. From the initial consultation to the final inspection they did great! The team was punctual, polite, and very knowledgeable. Anything I had questions on they explained well and satisfied some personal need choices. The roofing tear off and replacement on both house and shed was done completed efficiently, and the final result looks fantastic! I love the color and the coordinating gutter trim turned out great! They went above and beyond with the cleanup, leaving both my property clean and the extra magnetic rolling was a blessing so that I knew my pets and grandkids wouldn’t be picking up anything. I highly recommend Harry Taylor and ROAM Roof & Solar to anyone in need of roofing services!!

Frequently asked

Does Roam Roof & Solar have a Texas state roofing license?
Texas does not issue state roofing licenses to anyone, so no roofer can hold one. Homeowners should instead look for verifiable insurance, voluntary industry credentials, and manufacturer certifications. Roam Roof & Solar appears in this directory as a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT).
What is the difference between an RCAT member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company belongs to the trade association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separate, voluntarily earned designation that requires passing an examination. The two are not equivalent, so ask a contractor which one it holds.
Is Roam Roof & Solar BBB accredited?
Yes. BBB records show the company has been accredited since 2023, holds an A+ rating, and started business in 2018.
Does Roam Roof & Solar handle both roofing and solar?
Yes. The company advertises residential roof repair, replacement, and inspections, commercial roofing, and solar installation from its Belton office, which can simplify projects that combine a new roof with solar panels.
Is hail damage a real concern in Bell County?
Yes. Belton, Temple, and Killeen sit in the Central Texas corridor where hail is a leading cause of roof replacement. After a significant hail event, a documented inspection helps you decide whether an insurance claim is justified.
Are impact-resistant shingles worth it in Central Texas?
Class 4 impact-rated shingles are designed to withstand larger hail and can reduce the chance of a full replacement after a storm. Some Texas insurers offer premium credits for them, so ask both your roofer and your insurance agent before choosing a shingle.
Can a roofer offer to waive my insurance deductible?
No. Since 2019, Texas law requires homeowners to pay their deductible on insurance-funded roof work, and contractors who offer to absorb it are breaking the law. Treat any such offer as a serious red flag.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Belton or Temple?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting rules are set city by city. Check with your city's building or development services department, and confirm in writing which party is responsible for pulling any required permit.
What areas does Roam Roof & Solar serve?
Its website lists Belton, Temple, Killeen, Nolanville, Harker Heights, Salado, Georgetown, Burnet, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Waco, Athens, and Tyler.
What should I verify before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a current certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer, a written scope with itemized pricing, workmanship warranty terms in writing, and a physical Texas address with local references. Because Texas has no state roofing license, this paperwork is your main protection.
