Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I live in San Antonio in the Trails at Westpointe subdivision. At some point there was a raccoon in my attic. Seems as though it came through a vent on my roof and ripped up some shingles and lifted the vent to get in. Reached out to Presidio Roofing to let them know the issue. I was paired with Mike Tavenner who came out quickly to assess the damage and quoted me for repairs. The situation was fairly urgent as there was also damage to the wood underneath the shingles, exposing my house to rain/leaks. He was able to come out, assess damage, and get a technician out within the week for repairs. Price was $1650 which I thought was fair which included: 1. Remove damaged turtle vent down to the decking and inspect for rot. 2. Replace underlayment with synthetic underla yment. - Apply a 2’x2’ target patch o f i c e a n d water shield for added water resistance . - Replace damage turtle vent with new turtle vent and fasten it according to city code and manufacturer specifications.(paint to match.) - Replace damaged shingles. - Provide a 1 y e a r workmanship warranty only to the area directly repaired. Service was quick and Mike was truly professional. I am completely satisfied with the overall experience and would highly recommend!

I'm really happy with my new roof. Presidio Roofing San Antonio was a pleasure to work with. Mike T (Sales Rep), the other Mike (Production Manager) and the 4 - 6 gentlemen that removed and replaced my roof in one day. Why I recommend this company: 1) they were less expensive than other roofing companies that I received a quote from, 2) They are a GAF Master Elite contractor, which gave me extra peace of mind that the work would be done right the first time. 3) Their warranty meets or exceeds similar class 3 shingles, 4) They are honest. They initially estimated that 5 panels on my roof needed to be replaced. During the removal of my old shingles, it was determined that only one panel needed to be replaced. I was credited $400 for the 4 panels not used during the installation. This information could have easily been hidden from me, and I won't have known the difference. It's always a crap shoot finding someone that you can trust when hiring a contractor. Presidio Roofing will be my first and only call if I ever need any roofing work in the future.

Professional Review for Presidio Roofing** From start to finish, Presidio Roofing delivered exceptional service, outstanding quality, and results that exceeded our expectations. Johnathon Whitaker's attention to detail was evident throughout the entire project, and his crew demonstrated true professionalism in every aspect of their work. Johnathon made us feel like part of the Presidio family from the moment he introduced himself. His communication, care, and commitment to doing the job right created the best customer experience we've ever had as homeowners. Our new GAF roof looks incredible, and even our neighbors have commented on the color, craftsmanship, and overall quality. A special thank you to Robbie and Johnathon for providing a beautiful roof with all the upgrades we hoped for. We also appreciated the additional carpentry work Johnathon completed to repair areas of the roof that were damaged--another example of the team going above and beyond. We highly recommend Presidio Roofing to anyone looking for a top tier product, exceptional workmanship, and pristine results. They truly take care of their customers. We would of given more stars for this beautiful Hickory Roof !!! Thanks From Kerry and Sherry

We had a great experience with Presidio Roofing. Our roof was severely damaged by wind and hail. Gary came out to give us an estimate. He was very thorough, took lots of photos, explained everything clearly, and answered all our questions. They worked with our insurance company and made the process smooth. The work crew was great. They took care to protect the house, cleaned up the yard debris and nails), and finished in a single day. Thanks so much for a great job!

Frequently asked

Does Presidio Roofing have a Texas state roofing license?
Texas does not issue state roofing licenses, so no roofer can hold one. Homeowners should look for verifiable insurance, manufacturer certifications, and voluntary credentials instead. Presidio Roofing Company of San Antonio appears in this directory as a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT).
What is the difference between an RCAT member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company belongs to the trade association, while the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separately earned designation that requires passing an examination. The two are not equivalent, so ask a contractor which it holds.
How long has Presidio Roofing Company of San Antonio been in business?
BBB records show the business started in June 2016 and has been BBB accredited with an A+ rating since July 2017.
What roofing materials can Presidio install?
Its website lists composition shingles, standing seam and stone coated metal, clay and concrete tile, TPO, PVC, EPDM and silicone flat systems, and specialty products such as F-Wave, DaVinci, Decra, and Tilcor.
Is Presidio Roofing certified by shingle manufacturers?
The company appears in both the GAF and Owens Corning contractor directories, and its GAF profile shows a 5.0 rating across 104 reviews. On its own site it describes itself as a GAF Master Elite contractor and an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor.
Does Presidio help with storm damage insurance claims?
Yes. The company advertises storm damage assessments and insurance claim assistance along with emergency repairs and tarping, and it reports federal disaster recovery contracting experience including hurricane blue roof missions.
Can a roofer offer to waive my insurance deductible?
No. Since 2019, Texas law requires homeowners to pay their deductible on insurance-funded roof work, and contractors who offer to absorb it are breaking the law. Treat any such offer as a red flag.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in San Antonio?
Permitting is set locally in Texas rather than by a statewide code. The City of San Antonio has its own development services requirements, so confirm with the city or make sure your contract states who pulls any required permit.
Is this the same company as Presidio offices in other Texas cities?
The Presidio organization has offices in San Antonio, Austin, Denton, and Flower Mound. This listing covers Presidio Roofing Company of San Antonio, headquartered at 414 W. Nakoma St., which serves the San Antonio area.
What should I verify before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a current certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer, a written itemized scope and price, warranty terms in writing, and local references. Because Texas has no state roofing license, this paperwork is your main protection.
