Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0434 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I highly recommend Platinum Contracting LLC for anyone needing a new roof. Owner Aaron Rodgers and his team provided exceptional service from start to finish. Ryan in sales was knowledgeable, responsive, and made the entire process easy to understand. What really stood out was Project Manager Brandon, who stayed on-site the entire day while the roof was being replaced. His attention to detail, communication, and commitment to making sure everything was done right gave us complete confidence in the project. The crew worked hard, completed the job professionally, and left the property clean when they were finished. The quality of workmanship was outstanding, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a roofing company you can trust, Platinum Contracting LLC is the one to call! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last fall I had a lot of bad roof damage from a hail storm. My insurance did not want to accept the claim for roof replacement. Tony Munoz from Platinum Contracting was absolutely amazing. He fought for my claim for 3 weeks until they finally had no choice but to accept it due to his professional and detailed documentation. Tony came by my home regularly, he explained all details and answered all my questions. I could not have done this without him. When they started on my roof this morning they uncovered even more hidden damage that they were able to repair. I am so thankful for Tony Munoz and Platinum and enjoyed doing business with them. I can only highly recommend them.

Platinum Contracting LLC did a fantastic job fixing our roof! They were quick to respond, gave us a fair and transparent estimate, and got to work right away. The crew was professional, efficient, and did an incredible job cleaning up all the debris afterward—you couldn't even tell they were here, except for the perfect roof! It's such a relief to have the job done right. I highly recommend them for any roofing needs! Little before and after, We absolutely love our black roof🖤 thank you so much for all everything you did Tony😊

My roof was damaged recently after a few days strong wind gusts. I was given a quote from another company I wasn’t sure about. I contacted Colby at Platinum Contracting per a recommendation and I’m glad I did! Colby and Ryan had the inspection completed and quote finished in less than 24 hours not to mention at a better price as well! They were extremely professional, honest, and very respectful, I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. They explained everything clearly, showed me photos of the damage, and completed the repair in less than a week from when I first reached out. The gentlemen at Platinum obviously take pride in their work, and the repair looks great. I highly recommend Platinum Contracting for anyone needing roof repairs!

Platinum Contracting has taken care of my family on multiple occasions. They recently replaced the roof of our home. Ryan communicated well, and answered all our questions every step of the way. He and his team helped advocate for us while working through a difficult claims process. Their crew were courteous and hard working. Our new roof is beautiful with a great quality shingle. Thank you for a job well done! We wouldn't hesitate to trust them again.

Frequently asked

Is a roofing company in Garland licensed by the State of Texas?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so no Garland roofer holds a state roofing licence. What can be checked is current general liability and workers compensation insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT status, manufacturer certifications like Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, and any City of Garland registration or permit rules that apply.
What does the RCAT status shown on this listing mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas keeps two separate things apart. Plain membership means the company pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own programme. This listing carries the Licensed credential. It is an industry credential from a trade association, not a government licence.
What is an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor?
Platinum Preferred is the highest tier in Owens Corning's contractor network, above the standard Preferred level, and it is the tier that can offer Owens Corning's strongest roofing system warranty. Owens Corning's own contractor directory shows Platinum Contracting LLC of Garland at that tier. Always confirm a claimed tier on the manufacturer's own directory rather than on the contractor's site.
Is Platinum Contracting BBB accredited?
Yes. The Better Business Bureau profile for Platinum Contracting LLC in Garland shows BBB Accredited Business status since 1 July 2019 and an A+ rating, with the business recorded as started on 17 August 2016.
Why do Dallas area roofers talk so much about hail?
North and Central Texas sit in what the industry calls Hail Alley, and hail is the single biggest driver of roof claims in the region. That is why impact resistant Class 4 shingles, storm inspections and insurance claim support dominate the local market. Ask any contractor to document the storm date and the specific hail damage before a claim goes in.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Garland?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test and is widely specified across the Dallas Fort Worth area. Many Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a Class 4 roof, but the size of the credit, and whether it is offered at all, is set by each carrier. Confirm the discount with your own insurer before paying for the upgrade.
Do I need a permit for a reroof in Garland or Dallas County?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are set city by city and county by county. Confirm current requirements with the City of Garland building inspection department for a property inside the city, and put in writing who is responsible for pulling the permit.
How should I handle a hail insurance claim?
Photograph the roof, the gutters, the fencing and any interior water staining, note the storm date, and get an independent written inspection. Do not sign anything that hands your claim over to a contractor before you understand it. Be very cautious of anyone who offers to waive or absorb your deductible, which is not lawful in Texas.
What exterior work does the company do besides roofing?
Its published pages cover gutter installation alongside residential and commercial roofing, metal roofing and new construction. The BBB profile additionally lists windows and window installation, roof leak repair, and fire, water and building restoration among its business categories.
What should I ask before signing with any Texas roofer?
Get the manufacturer system and shingle line named in writing, the workmanship warranty term, the manufacturer warranty tier and what registers it, the permit responsibility, the plan for replacing rotten decking found at tear off, and the payment schedule. Ask for the insurance certificate direct from the agent. Avoid large upfront deposits and be sceptical of storm chasers with no verifiable local address.
